Had a trip just before the October Holiday to avoid the crowd. The location of the hotel is not far from the city, but it is in an slightly isolated area controlled by the military. A short drive (like 2km) and will bring you to quite a number of well know eateries in Sanya. Just don’t expect you can walk to the city though. The room is clearly dated. When we check in the fridge in the room was not cold at all (drinks in the fridge are complementary, so it MATTERS :P) as the fridge is broken and they put it at a spot with no ventilation. The door hinge outside of the fridge broke when we were there. The only facility that I am impressed with was the swimming pool. It is massive and relatively well maintained. It has a long stretch straight area for “lap swimming” and also other more relax area as well as a water slide. Service staff, however, was quick in addressing the issues. Particularly a little girl called Joany, who was nice enough to add me on Wechat, so I can tell her all the issues as I experience them, where she addressed them all right away. She also made a few restaurant suggestions on meals, desserts, drinks etc which turn out to be fantastic. The hotel clearly needs some work to improve the facilities, but in service industry it’s always the staff service that matter the most. On additional services, the hotel host sailboat and snorkeling session where my packages included the sailboat, which was quite underwhelming. I wouldn’t have paid for it if I had to pay extra. The snorkeling looks more interesting but I would think you can get better deals outside of the hotel. The spa was good. My girlfriend and I had a coconut oil massage session that was fantastic, as you would expect from MO. Do make reservation early as my girlfriend tried to book a facial session in the morning and it was fully booked for the day. To conclude, bad hardware saved by good MO hospitality, and my girlfriend is becoming a fan just like all the other celebrities doing the ads for them :P. Hope it gets a proper renovation soon.

We stayed 8 days here and we have been not very pleased with our choice. What was good? - Baby pool with real sand “beach” - All in all good breakfast - Fast wifi almost everywhere What was not good - Hotel is surrounded by a military zone, one can’t just go out for a walk, connected just by a small road with Sanya/need a taxi to get out - Several times long waiting for buggy service for transportation at the property - Room service often works only when personally instructed (towels, bottled water) - Cheapest instant coffee possible at the room - Do-not-disturb indicator and Make-the-room indicator ignored - Pool area cleaned only like every 3 days, rubbish from days ago can be find every morning - Pool area toilets not cleaned for several days - Beach chair matts are not removed over night, so after raining can’t be used for a day or two - Lifeguards on the pool area often play their phones instead watching the kids - Many staff seem to be interns or temporary like students working here during holiday, not professional and not reliable

Definitely one of the worst 5 star experiences I had so far. Hotel is disorganized, a good part of the staff couldn’t care less of the service to customer, very low attention to details. I smell this place has undertaken a severe cost cutting because of COVID, and it shows mostly when the facility is quite full, like now. I really hope the GM (I heard is a new one) will find his way in having this hotel regain the previous luster.
