This hotel is located in a village which looks very lonely on the outside. It has houses inside the village which appeared to be originally for retirement but have slowly been abandoned. This hotel has a nice feel in its reception and poolside area though but its floors and rooms are dark. It also doesn’t have an elevator — so make sure to get a room in the ground floor or second floor, if you have heavy bags. What’s good about this hotel though is the art collection featured on every floor.
We loved this hotel, it's quiet, quaint and affordable with affable staff, very nicely prepared Chinese food (the morning buffet wasn't bad, simple and not bad...nothing special either) and clean rooms. this is a great value for the money with a nicely laid out environment. unfortunately while we were there, it was a bit chilly so I didn't get my swimming in, however the pool looked quite clean and the ocean is about a five minute walk from the resort. No swimming in that part of the ocean though as there are loads of fishing boats! And the wifi worked really well CAVEAT EMPTOR: this hotel does NOT accept international credit cards, even if you have used one to secure the room using C-Trip. Also, you must pay for everything in cash on the spot as opposed to an in-house charge…
Since Beihai has lost much of its flair, we considered staying here specifically because it had a pool. The prices are high for a Chinese hotel, but the rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was good. The staff was friendly, helpful, and understanding. We sat around the pool for 3 days and enjoyed a peaceful atmosphere. The only negative was when I watched a boy urinate in the pool while his parents laughed. The hotel security guard did nothing to stop this incident either.
We booked this hotel for one night only to go to the Weizhou Island early in the morning. The hotel offers free shuttle bus service to the port, it is about a five minute drive away. The hotel stuff was helpful in exploring of the city or explaining the way to the taxi drivers. Breakfast and dinner buffet offered mainly the local style food as well fresh seafood specialities.
