Walking into a Shangri-La is a bit like walking into a Starbucks - you know what to expect even whether you're in Taiwan or Turkey. It's strong branding and high level of service meant that we felt welcome from the moment of our arrival. Check-in was a fast and smooth process, and we were assigned a pleasant room with views of the pool and neighbouring Hong Kong. The room itself was rather dated and looked in need of refurbishment, but this shortcoming is reflected in the great value-for-money room rate. The flat-screen TV did not have a HDMI input, and there didn't appear to be an in-room dining menu. The mini-bar was empty and not stocked. There was a shallow bath in the bathroom. The sizable pool was where we spent most of our time, and while there weren't many sun loungers available, staff were able to move more out to the poolside promptly upon request. The adjacent gym is well-equipped with modern equipment. The pool was generally quiet during the day (as it usually is in China in the summer months), although it did get busier towards the late afternoon. Breakfast was a relatively uncrowded affair - always a welcome in any hotel - although the variety was somewhat limited. That said, the quality of food was generally high, with some excellent fresh cream accompanying the waffles and very tasty Sichuan minced pork noodles on offer. We spotted a dimsum buffet promotion which looked great, and we will be checking it out in future. Also, a huge plus point: the hotel did provide a Hong Kong wi-fi internet connection, which means guests have an uncensored internet connection during their stay.…
Shangri-La location makes the hotel a first choice when travelling to Shenzhen. But i will like to make a special thanks to the team for despite the stressful period and all the needed added safety measure with Covid to still be super friendly and attentive to customer. Food offer remains extensive, smile of all the staff is here, efficient check in... even in this period. Well done. I will be back for sure in this time and after.
We had a wonderful stay here, celebrating our anniversary. The staff were very attentive & went out of their way to make our stay special - from rose petals in the room upon check-in to a bottle of wine in the evening! The manager, Andy, introduced himself to us and was incredibly friendly & welcoming. The Horizon Club benefits are excellent - an excellent breakfast in the morning, yummy treats during Afternoon Tea and a hearty Happy Hour (enough food for dinner). The beds are wonderful, the pool is refreshing and clean, and the sauna was great! It was our first stay at the Shangri-La and we look forward to coming back!
Tried their dimsum buffet and wow!! Were we pleasantly surprised!! So many selections and all good!! You check boxes and order...so food come out hot....they have english/chinese menus Very nice ambiance... A bit pricey but worth the quality of the food.
First time staying in Shenzhen, where else to book but Shangri-La Hotel! Hotel is conveniently located next to Railway station, ideal for we were travelling from Guangzhou by train. Pulling a big luggage is quite straight forward from station to hotel. One plus! Hotel reception is warm and helpful. We were allowed to check in early and started our tour of the city early. The room is Shangri-La standard except for a BluRay player that is not functioning. A bit aged but we enjoyed the stay much. Travelling in Shenzhen from the hotel is easy as it is right above train and subway station. If not for the rioting in Hong Kong we would have travelled to Hong Kong as LuoHu station is also located there. We had an enjoyable stay in Shenzhen.
