Hi Whopper! I am not sure which is the nearest port - but if you are flying into Hong Kong, Shenzhen is easily reached by train. From the Shenzhen station, you walk through customs and into China (or the reverse of you are traveling back to Kowloon). The Holiday Inn is a close, very cheap taxi ride away from the station. Best of luck!
