I visited Huizhou for one night on my Great Hop Forward Southern Tour of craft breweries. I chose to stay at this hotel because it was near Krakhaus, Huizhou’s only craft brewery which is on the city’s bar street. It was also within my budget, and I was confident the hotel would be clean and sufficiently comfortable, as I had stayed in hotels from this chain before. I booked a Business Room B without breakfast via Trip.com. I arrived from Zhangzhou via high-speed train. Inconveniently, the station is at least an hour south of Huizhou. However, I had friends pick me up to take me to the hotel after having lunch. I was efficiently checked in and quickly stowed my luggage before leaving with my friends to enjoy some beer at Krakhaus, then some local food for dinner. The room was spacious and simply decorated. It was furnished with a single double bed, desk and chair, end tables, chair & side table, flat-screen television, and air conditioner. Although I requested a non-smoking room, an ashtray indicated it was not. Likely this hotel does not have any non-smoking rooms. I didn’t experience any of the common quibbles one encounters with budget hotels: street noise, noise from neighbours, odours, malfunctioning appliances, slow or spotty wifi, leaking plumbing fixtures, hard bed, etc. I can’t comment on the hotel restaurant, as I didn’t eat there. Nevertheless, were I to return to Huizhou, I would happily stay here again.…
