Located in front of the main square, Hotel Jose Nogueira is a boutique hotel in Punta Arenas, main entrance city to the world known Torres del Paine National Park and the closest city to the Chilean Antarctic Peninsula. Originally the building hosted the home of Mr. Jose Nogueira's wife, Sara Braun. He gathered a great fortune during the second half of the XIX century. In 1890, they ordered the construction of a splendid mansion in the middle of the center of the city, which, with the passing of time, transformed into one of the symbols of Punta Arenas. The building was declared National Monument is 1982 and 10 years later, it became a small and exclusive hotel. Hotel Jose Nogueira has 22 rooms (17 standard and 5 suites).

Well-located in the town centre, not a long walk to many local attractions (given the very flat terrain). Comfortable beds. Generous breakfast. Historic little bar (The Shackleton) with some good food. Worth a couple of nights

We had a lovely upgrade to our room by reception. The Shackleton bar is very atmospheric and the barman serves really good Pisco Sour. There are wonderful photos and prints of the expeditions. The restaurant is pleasant in the vine covered atrium. Service is a little slow but the Patagonian lamb was beautifully cooked.

The Jose Nogueira exudes history, especially the Shackleton bar which has many watercolors of his fateful journey. We stayed here both before and after our Patagonia trek. Each room is different and generally quite large, but stay away if you can from the fourth floor which has tiny rooms in the turrets of the building. Our rooms in both stays where clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very good. A special shoutout to Mikala at the front desk who was extremely helpful to us in booking tours and choosing restaurants (and a barber shop for me after two months away from home).

An older style hotel, with moderate size rooms that are reasonably decorated and comfortable. Common areas, lobby and restaurant are all very attractive, as is the hotel exterior. Is off street secure parking if have own vehicle. Wifi was acceptable. What let the hotel down was a very small elevator, enough for 2 cases and one person, unhelpful reception staff, and a very ordinary breakfast selection. Also does not have room service. Well located but would not recommend for more than one night.

Breakfast selection was poor. One good thing was you could order eggs freshly cooked. Breakfast started at 0630 which was helpful. The beds in our twin room were too soft and uneven. Need replacing. Room basic. Bathroom clean, food water pressure. Room was too hot, had to open windows to cool it down. Reception staff (lady) unhelpful and rude, i speak fluent Spanish but she was arrogant when I asked for WiFi code, where lift was. We were put here by our travel agent, we would not stay here again.

Dear, we are waiting for new matress that must arrive in come days. All the rooms have heating control that can be closed if you feel the room to much hot. We really regret about the lady in reception I guess it was a bad day or a misunderstanding, if you see other comments, you will read that our staff is discarded for your good attention.
