My wife and I stayed at the Singular for 3 nights during our honeymoon to Patagonia last week. This hotel is hands down one of the most gorgeous and unique places I have stayed in the world. It's history as a former cold storage plant was beautifully preserved throughout the entire property. The rooms all have wall to wall glass with views of the water and Andes mountains in the distance and they are comfortable and luxurious. The staff was amazing from the check in process to the cleaning service, bar and restaurant staff, everyone was accommodating, friendly and helpful. Also, all of the guides on our excursions were wonderful: knowledgeable and engaging. The food is excellent for all meals with many authentic Chilean recipes and great wine. If you are out for an excursion, the packed lunches are even delicious and our guides and drivers would always have extra snacks and refreshments along the way. We never wanted for a thing! I can't say enough amazing things about this hotel. It is all around a unique, special and spectacular way to spend your time in a very remote part of our world. We would go back in a heartbeat. Enjoy!

Dear wildflowergirl, on behalf of the entire team we are extremely happy to know that the bit of your Honeymoon that you decided to spent with us was well worth it and it turned out to be a Singular experience. It looks like you both were able to enjoy to the fullest! Thank you very much for recommending us. By the way, if you decide to come back in a near future, our favorite time of the year is April/March since the park isn't crowded and the autumn begins. Looking forward to having you both back in the near future, Ximena Dipp Hotel Manager

We had the most comfortable four nights at this amazing hotel. Everyone from smiling Harry on the front desk who quickly learnt our names to the restaurant staff, were exceptional. We felt very well looked after here in this beautiful historic building. Must do the tour of the place as it’s history and relics are fascinating with most of the machinery coming from the UK.
The rooms are well furnished and all have a magnificent view overlooking the channel and gorgeous mountains in the background. Food and service in the restaurant is excellent with loads of choice and a good selection too of the delicious Chilean wines. Can’t fault the place except that I would have liked a bigger indoor pool. We would return in a blink of an eye to this friendly and awesome country and especially to this hotel. Thank you!

The Singular is the terrific combination of old and new, design forward yet comfortable. The pictures, as all pictures of Patagonia, are accurate but can't reveal the scale of the beauty. When you walk into your room, a room that would be lovely on its own, you are momentarily stunned by the spectacular view out your window...which is really a glass wall to the outside. Quickly, though, you want to explore the surroundings, have a drink or a pot of tea in the bar...maybe play some cards while you are hanging out, and prepare yourself for the excursions the following days. We were able to do three different excursions, all of which were led by knowledgeable and friendly tour guides---and included vast amounts of food and drink for lunch, Breakfast buffet was bountiful and tasty including eggs cooked to order. Every staff member we dealt with was helpful and friendly without being obsequious.
As someone who lives in a converted mill, I particularly appreciated the design aspects of the hotel. How they maintained the sense of factory as they made a luxury hotel was of interest to me. It did lead to people's having to walk through some unheated parts to get to breakfast which, after the first morning, was managed by wearing a sweater. The huge window had much smaller windows on each side which you could open to help if the room got too warm. These were minor issues in a venue that enveloped you with such thoughtful comfort.

Dear RI_world, I think I have read your comments way too many times, every single time with a big smile on my face. While I was reading I could totally picture myself in the scenarios that you have been describing. Thank you very much for putting everything in a realistic and kind perspective and for taking the time to do so. We all work and live here and sometimes we forget how fortunate we are to live with such surroundings and amazing people. We have printed your comment and have it already put up in our cafeteria board for every team member to see. Gracias and we hope to see you again in the near future, Ximena Dipp Hotel Manager

We stayed here to break up the journey from Torres del Paine to Punta Arenas. It was a good choice to avoid leaving at 3am and spending nearly 5 hours in a car!

The hotel as others have said it is part museum and part hotel and the public areas are vast (don't expect intimate surroundings). It is a bit cold going from your room to the bar or restaurants, so wrap up when walking around. Also don't expect a short walk as it is a bit of hike to go anywhere within the hotel given its size. However, none of these factors detracted from the place which is unique and interesting.

The standard "Singular Room" is spacious with fabulous full window wall views across the bay. I don't think any bedroom will have a different view. The bathroom is a bit disappointing as it is quite dark and they might have missed a trick by not installing a half glass wall to get a view over the top of the bed.

We really enjoyed the food and definately book El Asador for a BBQ experience with a diference. They cook the meat in what can be best described as a furnace and it was fabulous and I have no idea why it was cooked to perfection and not fried to a crisp!

Whilst here we had a horse riding experience which was good but expensive and cycled into Puerto Natales (not that much to see). I wouldn't out of preference use this as a base to see the wider area as it will involve a bit of travelling and the excursions are not cheap.

Others have mentioned poor service but this was not our experience and the staff were friendly and helpful.

In summary a great staging post for getting to or from Torres del Paine.

Dear Huntsy, First of all we would like to thank you for taking the time to wrote such a detailed review of our hotel. Just as you described we are a museum and a national monument and our hotel was built literally around it. There was lots of thought put into the project. Actually, it is on purpose that there are cold areas when coming and going to the hotel restaurant and rooms. The idea behind it was to make our guests and visitors aware of how harsh the conditions once were. We are happy that you enjoyed the bedroom and we have noted your comments regarding the glass wall on top of the bed for the bathroom. The Asador is one of my favorite venues in the hotel, because of its intimacy and the fact that it is also an opportunity for guests to share with other guests, if they would like to of course. We recommend previous reservations, particularly during the high season. We are aware that every hotel in the area caters for different guests. We love our location, because we get the best of both worlds. We are 5´away from town a car ride to Torres del Paine and very close to other off the beaten path exploring spots, were the real Patagonia is experienced with less crowds than the park…than again it is a matter of taste. Thank you for recommending our team since it is for us, the team who makes a difference and creates the experience. Thanks again and safe travels, Ximena Dipp Hotel Manager

This is hotel is not just a destination it’s an experience. A museum/hotel tht blends history with modern amenities. Reception is in the former meat tanning area. Kevin and Yanis were both friendly and informative. Our luggage was secured and we took the funicular to check in. Francesca and Roger were warm and welcoming. Roger helped us secure massages in the spa as well as dinner reservations at Asador, a fixed menu culinary experience not to be missed. Our room was spacious with an amazing water view. We required an iron to freshen up a shirt and were also provided an ironing board which was much appreciated. We enjoyed the spa prior to our hot stone massages. The pool with a breathtaking view was enjoyable as were the sauna and steam room. Catherine and Francesca provided our stone massages. Perfect prelude to an amazing evening at Asador. We ran a little late as our masssges lasted longer than expected. We were seated at the bar and enjoyed watching them prepare the amazing menu. Ignacio was our server. He was attentive and informative. Don’t miss this culinary delight. Reservations only. Breakfast in the morning was exquisite. Omelette made to order. History and hotel made for an unforgettable experience.

I have traveled to many places and this is by far one of my favorite hotels ever. The hotel is an old sheep processing facility that has been restored into a super unique hotel. The Singular has incredible service, excellent food, and great excursions. We did the full board package and it was completely worth it. The breakfast is perfect: a blend of fresh juices, eggs cooked your way, freshly baked muffins and more. Dinner highlights include: Singular King Crab Pie and the Mushroom Risotto. We have stayed at other top hotel brands, but have never experienced service like this where every member of the staff went above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. On day 1, you will review excursion options. We did 4 different excursions and each one exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend the water path hike with beautiful panoramic views of the park. The base towers hike is a MUST- a 14 mile hike that covers a leg of the W hike in Torres Del Paine. The Navagation tour consists of a visit to a glacier and a visit to ranch on a private peninsula with horseback riding. Excursion guides are extremely knowledgable, friendly, and will make your vacation incredible. The hotel room is really nice with all rooms having incredible views of the fjord where you can witness some amazing sunsets. I definitely would not stay anywhere else as this hotel checks all the boxes from great service, incredible food, and once in a life time excursions.

My husband and I stayed for four nights and highly recommend the Singular. It has spectacular views from the rooms and the historic cold storage parts of the hotel add a truly unique feel to the property. From the first step onto the funicular to travel from reception down to the lobby, you know you’re somewhere special. The beautiful main restaurant serves very good food (the pulpo appetizer was our favorite) and the bar area is very hip and comfortable. We also enjoyed an amazing pre fixe dinner at the smaller grill restaurant (make reservations when you check in). Overall, service was a bit slow at times but Roger was absolutely amazing and made up for it when he addressed an issue with our room. Our favorite tour guides were Isidora, Gonzalo, and Jonas. Our favorite excursion was the boat tour to a glacier then lamb for lunch at a unique sheep farm followed by horseback riding. We also thought Sebastian was an awesome and fun driver...he would make a great tour guide. We really enjoyed a tour of Puerto Natales with the locally famous Chechin. Our only suggestions for improvement at Singular would be to provide air conditioning in the rooms (at least install a ceiling fan) and provide some outdoor seating for al fresco drinks. That being said, we definitely recommend Singular for a memorable vacation in Patagonia.

Dear EllenG2222, First of all we would like to thank you for recommending us and for taking the time to review us on TripAdvisor. As you mentioned our hotel is part of the foundation of what Puerto Natales is today, and thus the whole architecture and design are built around it. Thank you for appraising our food, and we have passed your comments to our restaurant team in order to improve the times of the different services. We are happy that Roger, our Guest Relations Officer, was able to assist you with the issue you had in your room. We are passing this comment forward to the team, and it definitely goes in our staff board since many names were pointed out. By the way, Sebastian was a guide in San Pedro Atacama prior to joining our driving team. We also have in mind some very rustic, simple fresco seating and we wanted to have some benches in the corner, exit door, from the kitchen to the outside. You were very lucky since you were able to enjoy 2 out of the 4 real summer days we had in Patagonia. By real summer we mean above 23C / 74F approximately. Thanks again for your review and we look forward to welcoming you in the near future in either of our properties. All the best, Ximena Dipp Hotel Manager

Very friendly staff, and great massage in the spa. All rooms have water views, but no balconies nor doors permitting access to the shoreline. No gym, renovated factory space was impressive but unheated. At these prices and billing as "one of the top hotels in South America", food was uniformly disappointing for every meal of our four-day stay.

If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and escape into a tranquil environment with a unique hotel that maximizes adaptive reuse and has superior service, the Singular Patagonia is the place to be. During our stay we experienced a medical emergency and the staff bent over backwards to help. We felt that the Singular staff was part of our family during this time of need. The food is spectacular, the service is stellar, and there are some unique things to do at the hotel such as the salt water swimming pool that an underwater threshold that allows you to pop outside as well as the glacier tour that utilizes one of their two boats that allows you to beat the crowds.

We stayed at the Singular for one night. The setting itself was super cool, in an old factory, but not sure the very steep price tag was really worth it. The spa was completely booked when we were here, so that was a disappointment, especially as the hotel is located far from town leaving us with nothing else to do instead. The dinner that came with our room rate was ample (too ample, in fact - there was so much food leftover), but the quality of the food fell short of what I was expected due to the great reviews. A nice experience but next time I would opt to stay in town.

Dear Rachel, On behalf of all of us we would like to thank you for taking the time to review us on TripAdvisor. We are happy that you enjoyed our architecture and settings, and would like to share some additional information with you. The Spa is usually fully booked particularly between 17.00hrs & 20.00hrs, which is the time most guests take a massage. (After the excursion and before dinner). Beside the massages in the SPA we have a sauna, steam room and a (cool) pool. Our concierge could have also organized a massage in town, if we would have known... The hotel is a 8USD cab ride away from the hotel, a 20' bike ride or a breeze 45' walk. We are 3 miles/5km away from town. We actually started offering a shuttle to town, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. We are sorry that there was food leftover and we try to explain the plates and portions as best as we can so that nothing goes to trash. We hope that there was some feedback given to the kitchen or any staff members regarding why our food didn't match your expectation to see how we could have improved. Hopefully you can give us a second chance in any of our F&B departments in the future. All the best, Ximena Dipp Hotel Manager

Dear jantoby1, It will depend of the mobility of the guest, but we have many less risky options to enjoy such as the fjords navigation, the Torres del Paine full day (to discover the most beautiful National Park panoramic views by Van and includes a few walks), the city tour, the tour for the hotel and its museaum. You could also be offered the excursion to the Milodón caves, that the path is quite easy. We recommend you to contact our Excursions specialist Carolina and Nicolas by e-mail, to get more details of what are the options that better suites you. Have a Singular day!
