Interesting hotel in a repurposed meat packing plant. Rooms were spacious with a nice view of the fjord. Unfortunately the guests walking outside would easily see into your room if the curtains were open. Bathroom was spacious but the glass door for the toilet rubbed against the floor tiles if you opened it too wide (it really wasn't necessary), toilet paper holder was loose, and the shower head sprayed water outside the shower stall. Additionally, we could hear noise from the hallway. No AC in the rooms, which could be a problem. Unless you only want to use their services for activities, the hotel is too far away from town to easily get there, and no shuttle service was offered. These little details prevent us from thinking of this as a 5 star hotel. The restaurant and bar were both very nice. Great food, good drinks and very attentive staff. The remnants of the meat packing operation equipment makes for a unique and interesting experience.

Very nice staff mostly. Interesting location—converted former sheep processing and cold storage plant. They’ve done a remarkable job in converting this to a nice hotel. Despite the hard surfaces, and ubiquitous concrete it is very comfortable. Most guests are American. You can take any number of interesting guided excursions. Our guide on a day hike was very knowledgeable and she spoke English wonderfully. The breakfast staff can’t seem to get eggs the way we tried relentlessly to to describe them—scrambled firm. Or an omelette with certain ingredients done well done. Buffet is not as impressive as in an urban area but likely that is the issue—the remoteness of the location. The history of the place is on display everywhere and that adds immensely to the experience. Still the price was high especially compared to what is advertised here today for a booking right away. We booked this one months ago.

My wife and I spent two night here before visiting Torres del Paine. An architectural masterpiece with one of the best hotel bar/ restaurant areas I’ve ever visited. LHW booking recognised, and Matias could not have been more helpful or charming. Nice bike ride or walk into Puerto Arenas. If we visited again we’d stay here longer and visit the park putting up with transfer costs and time, and perhaps just a night or two in Torres del Paine itself which is grossly over priced.

We were on a Tauck tour of Patagonia and stayed 4 nights at the Singular. We had been thinking about the hotel for years since we saw it in a magazine. This hotel is so very unique it was one of the top highlights of the trip. It is a former sheep rendering factory transformed into a luxury hotel. Every room has a glass wall facing the water and mountains beyond. The rooms are all the same so there is no complaining you didn't get as good a room. The interior designs incorporate the factory building into the restaurant, bar and walkways which were spectacular. The service was excellent as was the restaurant food. Since it is so spread out you get a lot of exercise just walking to your room or the restaurant. It is a thrill just admiring the place and its views as well.

We stayed at this fascinating hotel for one night. We were greeted warmly upon our arrival and were transported by funicular to the lobby. Our room was large with a view of an expansive lake with black-necked swans swimming in it. It was interesting to see the antique machinery that was part of the factory within which the hotel was built. We enjoyed the spa, in which the sauna also had a view of the lake. We went on a hike to nearby Cerro Benitez with a guide from the hotel and enjoyed the beautiful vistas.

We were undecided as to book a hotel closer to Torres del Paine but decided to stay with more comfortable accommodations and do the 1.5 drive to the park on the 2 days we did excursions. It was a great decision! The Singular offers exceptional food, service and is tastefully decorated. The service was exceptional, what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. The view from your room is beautiful. A few tips if you are going: 1. Transfer from Punta Arenas to Puerto Natales on Bus Sur is very simple and extremely comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised at how on time and comfortable the ride was, so if you are looking to save money- book a bus ride. It’s safe, easy, and very economical. 2. Torres del Paine- we booked an easy hike and overall scenic tour thru the hotel and it was a great way to get a feel of the park and see a lot in 1 day. We also hiked to the base of the towers with another company and the experience was definitely not as comfortable but since we just wanted to do the hike it didn’t make sense to pay more than twice to do it with the hotel. Be forewarned this hike is NOT easy but you will have an experience you will never forget . This hotel is a fantastic option to see the area and feel pampered and well taken care of. As a side note, the Singular Santiago has the same breakfast as the Singular Patagonia- wish that wasn’t the case since you do get tired of the same food if you are staying at both properties. Other than that both properties are exceptional!
