If you're in Puerto Natales to hike the W Circuit, you must stay at Erratic Rock. This is a super clean, super cozy, super comfortable and well-outfitted hostel. The breakfast is hand down the best hostel breakfast I've had - and I've been traveling in South America and staying in hostels in South America for the last 9 months. Breakfast... More

I stayed here during the start of the quiet season in Patagonia. The staff are really friendly and approachable and willing to help with whatever you need. The free breakfast in the morning is great and has a good variety of food, including fresh bread and a freshly cooked omelette. The location of the hostel is good, not quite on... More

Very hard to get, had to stay somewhere else and put myself on a waiting list. Thankfully managed to beat everyone else to it the next day. You do not have to stay there to listen to their ultra informative talks but you get alot more by chatting with the staff thru the night. Also very comfortable everything, especially after... More

We didnt stay in the hostel but went to the 3pm talk which was not only helpful for our trek but also helps to educate visitors on ethical and environmentally friendly preperation and trekking. They also have a free items basket which is great for items like garbage bags as they get reused. We also hired our equipment there and... More

The hostel is currently taking bookings in person only, so we missed out, but this info session (run by the same ppl that run the hostel) is essential for local knowledge of everything from bus/ferry logistics, to local weather/trail knowledge. If you are going to camp and cook give yourself more than just 1 afternoon after this session to write... More

We have had such a blast getting to know this crew. REALLY IMPORTANT free 3pm talk given about the trek and what to expect/you need. Must do if you are doing the walk. If you want to climb or get to know the area, these guys know what's up. Clean rooms and kitchen, fun can-do attitude all around. BASE CAMP... More

We stayed here for one night either side of visiting Torres del Paine. The staff (both in the hostel and the bar next door) were really friendly and helpful. And send you off to the park with a good breakfast! Chilled out place to stay, comfortable beds and two cute pet cats. Get there in time for the briefing about... More

We spent 2 nights at Erratic Rock, one before & one after the W trek. It's a very friendly hostel with delicious breakfast & comfortable beds. The bar next door (Base Camp) rents hiking equipment & does a daily 3pm briefing about the W trek. While the briefing is useful I didn't agree with the advice not to use waterproof... More

Getting a spot at Erratic Rock is hard for a reason: everyone loves it. They don't do reservations online, so if you want to stay there, you have to show up in person. If you want a reservation day of be sure to get there early, because there are only a few spots and they fill up quick. If you... More
