I spent 10 weeks in Chile and stayed in more than 20 hostels, some very good, some less. Out of all the good hostels I rank Hostal Jardin del Sol as the Best. It has a good, central location 5 minutes walk from the central square, however, it's peaceful, no traffic noise. The accommodations are modern and very clean. The... More

This is how every hostel should be. -Open air terrace in the middle with a relaxing tree and hanging egg chairs -Quiet hours after 11am, no noise at night -Squeaky clean, everywhere, including the kitchen. I walked around barefoot... -Kitchen is open from 8am to 11pm and has everything you could need -Private bathrooms and large fans to keep the... More

It is a very nice and clean Hostel managed by very friendly and helpful people. Everybody likes to help if you ask for further touristic information and assists you with everything you can imagine. For me it is the first choice in Arica!

I have just spent 8 nights at this delightful family run hostal, and would highly recommend. It is very clean and the staff are incredibly helpful and kind. Yes the rooms are a little small, and not really sound proof, but the quiet hours are respected, and noise was not a problem. Breakfast was adequate. They owners have a friendly,... More

This is a very clean and relaxing hostel run by extremely helpful and friendly staff. It feels very secure and is quiet due to the 11pm communal area curfew. The rooms are on the small side but perfectly adequate and the showers are awesome. Good kitchen facilities though there is a small extra charge for using gas (500 pesos). Very... More

The owners and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a bit small, but functional and comfortable. The hostal is well maintained and clean. It has a nice small patio and offers access to a kitchen. Free wifi works well and is quite fast (fast enough to have video calls on Skype). The location is excellent: quiet,... More

Pros: * very friendly and helpful owners/receptionists. * outstandingly clean for a hostel (very clean in any case :-). * kitchen available for cooking, laundry. * the no-noise policy after 11 pm... This is the cleanest hostel I have ever been into. Very friendly owners, receptionists, kitchen and cleaning staff. Plenty of tourist information given. Beautiful terass, trees and hanging chairs. Just overwhelmed.
