Enjoy your stay in Arica!
I spent two nights at the Aruma. My first time to stay in a boutique hotel. A very pleasant experience. The room was spacious and comfortable, a very modern design. The hotel restaurant had the standard travelers breakfast in the morning, fresh and hit the spot. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. I was there on a business trip but it coincided with the yearly Carnaval Arica hosts. The hotel is a few blocks from the city center, so it is an easy walk to tour the city and sample the Carnaval experience. Nice hotel, I would stay there again.
While we only spent one night on route to Peru, we could not have asked for a better experience. We arrived at an unearthly 6am and was greeted by the wonderful Lauder who welcomed us with open arms, a hot shower and coffee - she was an angel at that time of the morning. We enjoyed sitting in the breakfast room and were allowed in a room by 12pm! It was such a relief after a night bus. We used the bikes, the pool and got great advice from all the staff at Aruma. It was just a delight and i can honestly say the best accomodation experience in Chile. Thankyou again - great service and big smiles are appreciated by travellers.
We stayed only one night at this nice lodge situated in Codpa but it was a marvelous experience : a tiny and very well kept lodge in a charming and lost village mainly thanks to Vanessa who welcomed us warmly and guide us throughout the village
my wife and college-age daughter spent 4 nights at Hotel Aruma while we explored the town. The rooms were lovely and spacious, and the hotel has a lovely, quiet, modern design. There is a roof with a beautiful breakfast room as well as a small pool and shady area. What was most spectacular, though, was the service. We got enormous help from the front desk staff, and in particular from Laura and Alejandro. Great restaurant ideas, help with transport, complicated requests (“where can we buy a digital fridge thermometer?”) were met with great kindness, enthusiasm, and resourcefulness. Truly amazing, and it made our stay fantastic!
Boutique Hotel Aruma is located in the centre of Arica. The hotel was built in 2003 and offers 16 rooms over 4 floors. Furnishings and decoration provide a most pleasant, modern atmosphere. Service is helpful and friendly. Note that in Chile a 19% sales tax is charged upon check-out. Foreigners on a tourist visa are exempt from this tax when payment is in US$. Surprisingly Hotel Aruma applies the same rate whether you pay in CLP or US$. We requested and got a payment without tax. We had a standard room of practical size, nicely decorated & furnished. The room had a double-bed of good quality with good bedlinen, airco, TV set on the wall, desk & stool and Wi-Fi Internet. The separate bathroom had a washbasin, toilet, and a rain shower. Both room and bathroom were very clean. At Aruma top floor you find a restaurant, a nice sun balcony and a small pool. In the restaurant a good breakfast is served, with fresh fruits & fruit juices and eggs made to order. The small menu for dinner is unimpressive. We had a sandwich, which was terrible and uneatable. The evening cook cannot make even a very simple dish. We recommend Hotel Aruma to anyone who seeks a good night of sleep in an up-to-date accommodation. Highly recommended.…
