The best I can say of this hotel is its location: right in the center of Arica, so everything can be reached easily, for example good restaurants. But I disliked the fact, that our room (like all the others I could see) opened to an inner courtyard and thus had no fresh air at all. Maybe the horrible smell in... More

I found the hotel to be very clean, and they were open to receiving me when I showed up at 1 am after a late flight. I only stayed one night and found that the bed was a bit hard, but the room overall was clean and serviceable. I had great hot water in the morning! I also enjoyed the... More

At the last minute, I decided to stay in Arica. Hotel Samaña was a relatively inexpensive option. It was clean and well located, and they serve a good breakfast. The staff were friendly, and I was told that, eventually, they will have more rooms on the high floors with nice views of El Morro.

Hotel Samana is a small hotel situated in downtown Arica and is ideal for an inexpensive overnight stay. Our room was compact but was well kept and comfortable with a spacious shower room. The buffet breakfast was very good with fresh fruit and juices and eggs cooked to order. Staff were helpful and friendly.

The hotel has in my opinion only one problem. It's not calm. The doors and windows are very thin, so you can hear everything that the people outside speak. When someone turns on the tv, everyone has to listen to it. Beside of this, the bed is comfortable, the staff friendly and helpfull and the hotel is very close to... More

- This simple, clean hotel/hostal probably was chosen by our tour operator in order not to spoil us with unnecessary luxury before we drove up to the altiplano… - Spartan, small rooms facing an inner courtyard, therefore no street noise. - Comfortable beds. - Simple, small bathroom. - Breakfast ok with cereals, yoghurt, bread, cheese, ham, butter, marmalade, tea, coffee.... We were amazed with hospitality of Samana! Arrived few hours before our check in the Hotel agreed on earlier temporary check on other room so as to wash up. Rooms were cosy, tidy and equiped (no fridge). Staff was very helpful and polite. We checked out and left safe our luggages during tour to Tacna. After that I had some... More

Arica hasn't got a very broad range of quality but affordable hotel options and at the time we went, it was a little tricky to actually find any available room, for some reason. The Samana was recommended through a few websites and we found it to be a good option. The location is central, near the markets, collectivos and local... More

We stayed here for 5 nights while relaxing in Arica. The room was very good - proper hotel standard - with a nice hot shower, decent size, air-con (not in all rooms) and generally clean. There was a daily cleaning service. Breakfast was also good with some fresh fruit, cereal, bread + jam, juice, tea/coffee... The official rate for a... More

The road looks a bit dodgy when arriving at night, but it is central and close to everything. The hotel itself is clean, tidy arranged around a central courtyard which could have been noisy but was actually fine. The furnishings are quite basic but functional and quite good compared to other places I have been in Chile. The breakfast is... More
