Good place to relax - quiet rooms, rooftop terrace, large kitchens for socialising, quirky decorating, great breakfast and very helpful staff. Really close to bus station. Owner Ross will even buy any left over Peruvian soles if you have come from Peru.

We thank Rachel for her review. Sunny Days is home to us the owners and my wife has decorated the hostal accordingly. It is a humble abode but we make up for that by treating our guests as family which is why it is a good place to relax. But then Arica is also a relaxed seaside beach town so... More

The management here is off the highest caliber. Everything I needed he helped with, especially planning to cross the border into Peru during a strike by the Chilean customs employees. The second I showed up he invited me to sit down for breakfast and to worry about the paperwork after. Highly recommended.

We thank Maureen for her review and kind words. We try to treat our guests like family – a good breakfast to set the tone for the day. Then off to the beach for some sun, sea, sand, and surfing with Yoyo, Arica’s special surf instructor – what more can you ask for as a holiday More

I showed up from the bus station having lost my passport. Ross was incredibly kind offering me breakfast and allowing me to use a room to sort out my things/shower(after a long night bus) and the computer/phone to go back and forth with my embassy. I was really impressed with the hostal - 3 kitchens all tidy and well equipped... More

We thank the reviewer for their comments. We were happy to help this traveller in distress. Occasionally in ones travels when the challenge gets too great and the stress reaches breaking point it is nice to find somewhere that treats you like one of the family. I absolutely loved this hostel - it has a very homey feel to it, like staying with family. Firstly the staff are so friendly and accommodating - they allowed me to check in very early and I had a bed as soon as I arrived at 7am (so lovely after a night bus). The breakfast is one of the best... More

Negatives: In my opinion the Hostal is overrated. You don't get the value for the money you pay. The private room we stayed in wasn't the cleanest. Sand was on the floor and hair in the sink. The kitchenware was dirty so that I rather washed it up again before I used it. Overall the Hostal makes an aging impression.... More

We thank the reviewer for their opinion and are sorry we could not fulfill their expectations. Hostal Sunny Days is a backpackers hostal that has been in operation since 2001 so it is not new and is certainly not “boutique”, although we endeavor to maintain it to a high standard. The hostal is cleaned every day and management provide an... More
