‘Damrei’ in the Khmer language is the word for ‘Elephant’, a creature that played a major role in the ancient Khmer Empire. Damrei Angkor Hotel pays respects to this beautiful beast in and around the hotel. Newly opened in October 2015, this beautiful 54-rooms, 4-stars hotel is perfectly located for visitors to Siem Reap. The magnificent temples at Anchor Archaeological Complex, where you will visit the unforgettable Angkor Wat, are a short, 10-minute tuk tuk ride away. Siem Reap town and its large choice of restaurants, bars and shopping is all a short walk from the hotel, or you can use one of our dedicated, polite tuk tuk drivers. The facilities at the Damrei Angkor Hotel are second-to-none. After a hot, sticky day at the temples, relax by our salt-water swimming pool with a cold beer or a cocktail at the poolside bar. After a busy day shopping in the nearby markets, indulge in one of our many sumptuous Mtes Spa treatments or just relax on the Erawan Terrace. Our Aira Restaurant ca

We stayed here for 2 days in Feb'20. The rooms are well appointed & spacious. The staff is very courteous and responsive. Rooms have basic amenities like tea/ TV (the only problem being availability of hardly any English channels). The hotel is very near to the city center (Tuk Tuk charges only about 2 USD for 4 passengers). We had our flight to Hanoi at 7.00 PM, the check out time of the hotel was 12.00 noon. The staff very graciously allowed us to keep one room till 4.00 PM. The breakfast spread is also good ( for vegetarians the choices are limited).

The hotel is situated near downtown ( but not within walking distance to Pub Street). Property is nice, clean and staff is very friendly and fluent with English. Restaurant offers great buffet breakfast ( complimentary) and lunch/ dinner at reasonable price. My only complaint is that because I’m traveling with a friend and requested a room with 2 beds. There’re 2 beds in the room but bathroom is an open design so unless you don’t mind your friend watching while you shower or use toilet you would have to make different arrangements. So I would recommend this hotel to couple or solo travelers only.

The hotel is in a quiet location , 10 minutes walk or a $2 tuk tuk ride to the centre . The reception area , restaurant , pool and room were immaculately clean . The restaurant provided an excellent breakfast and a reasonable dinner menu , including local dishes . The staff were so pleasant and obliging it made the stay much more enjoyable . Highly recommended .

If you're a city explorer, this is perfect as the location is within walking distance from all the famous "must visit" locations in Siem Reap. Restaurants, cafe, groceries and Mey Hong bus station (if you want to take a bus to Phnom Penh) is within few minutes walk away.
Cons: Bed is pretty hard to sleep on. It's tough spring bed with duvet laid over it. However, I managed to overcome this issue as I got so tired from my daily tours I can sleep on any hard mattress. The chair in the room is too low as well to work on anything on the desk. If you're looking for ergonomic working desk, you won't find it here.
The AC could have been improved too. It's old and one has to tune down the temperature to 18 degrees Celcius to really feel cold in the heat of Siem Reap.
Overall, staffs are friendly and helpful.

The hotel provides good size rooms but feels a little 'soulless', partly due to low visitor numbers. The breakfast is served in rather anonymous side room and the atmosphere is compound by a terrible 'muzak' soundtrack that I would characterize as 'lift music'. On our visit, there was noisy work taking building work taking place next to the pool to replace some decking but there was no apology provided which maybe suggested that the hotel had got out of the habit of providing good service to customers. The hotel is located about 10-15 minutes walk from the river setting of central Siem Reap

A very good hotel. Good location in a very calm street close to the main street, no traffic noise. Short walk (10 minutes) to the very centre of town. Sufficient place for parking for driver/guide to pick you up. Nice little garden with a great model of Angkor Wat and beautiful flowers. Excellent restaurant with very good food at breakfast as well as lunch and dinner. For breakfast they make very good fresh omelets etc. Big, modern room with balcony and a nice bathroom. Laptop safe. Good bed and plenty of space for your clothes and stuff. No special view from the room except to the entrance, the garden and the pool. Nice pool with a bar, small space for the sunbeds. Difficult to find place in the shadow. Very nice staff. Almost too polite, a little too much of bowing and greeting all the time, as if to show a kind of subservience. But first of all a lot of natural friendliness and modesty, especially from the young ones.

Nice hotel we had a garden room which was lovely. Stsff were friendly and will get you a tuk tuk for longer journeys. I would recommend the facials and massage they were amazing and cheap. The pool was lovely but no bar. You do however have a mini bar in your room which you can take to the pool. A tuk tuk to pub street costs $2 but it is easily walkable too if you don't mind the heat.

Pictures give a bit wrong impression: the hotel is in the middle of a crowded side street. Not crowded in a way that there would be noise, but in a way that one is quite surprised the first time taxi turns to the street. However, rooms were good and clean, pool was nice and breakfast was ok. We had an early start to the airport and they gave us breakfast boxes to go.
Hotel is well situated in a way that one could also walk home from nearby restaurant and it didn’t take too long to get to the airport and Ankor area.

The staff is very kind and will help you organise everything. They made our 3 days trip to Angkor perfect. The location of the hotel is excellent. It is a 3 mins trip by tuk tuk to the Pub Street and night market and about 10-15 mins away from Angkor. The hotel and the rooms are just as per the pictures.

Staff were very very kind and always eager to please and incredibly polite. The air con was not great as I had it turned all the way down but the room was still somewhat warm. The restaurant attached was subpar but the service was good

Hey Belén,
Regarding Angkor Wat Temple.
The hotel can organise your tours with a tuk tuk, taxi or Bus but for your entrance passes you will need to go to Angkor Wat to purchase your entrance tickets. (1 day or 3 day)
Or email them about joining a group tour where a tour guide speaking your preferred language, transport and entrance are taken care of.
Enjoy your trip!
