You don’t just stay at Zannier Hotels Phum Baitang, you partake of a visceral experience that embodies all the senses and transports you back to a true Cambodian village atmosphere; one that is devoid of the noise and frenetic pace of the “Khet” Siem Reap. The feel of this burgeoning province, which can so quickly engulf the avid tourist, is left far behind as you cocoon yourself into the tranquil confines of an oasis like no other in Cambodia. Under-stated luxury beckons guests to unwind and completely recharge after a long day exploring the famous temples of the UNESCO heritage site of Angkor, the principle draw card for many savvy tourists from around the globe. Phum Baitang, “The Green Village” is simplicity with an eye on detail. It has to be experienced and not just read about. The property is comprised of 45 private villas designed to resemble Cambodian houses that are set amongst swaying plantations of verdant lemon-grass. There are two locally-inspired first class restaurants that proffer delicious meal choices that go far beyond the norm for what is considered typical Khmer cuisine. Bay Phsar, “Rice Market” and Hang Bay, “Rice Shop” both serve delicious meals using fresh organic herbs and vegetables from the resort’s own gardens. At the cigar & cocktail lounge one can delight in the pleasure of sipping a location- inspired cocktail while watching the sun slowly set behind the property’s magnificent 50m infinity pool. Zannier Hotels Phum Baitang is the embodiment of the ideal luxury travel destination that we all dream about. Whether young or old, a family or a couple, recent honeymooners embarking on a new life together or a single adventure-seeking traveler, this Cambodian village experience has something to offer all ages. Maybe it is an authentic cookery class for two, or perhaps an afternoon where the children can explore Cambodian culture through interactive games and puzzles, the resort has a plethora of wonderful activities to enrich the mind and engage the senses. For those seeking the relaxing ambiance of a first class wellness center, the Temple Spa truly is a sanctuary within this resort oasis. Seven spa treatment rooms, sauna, steam room, relaxation area as well as a yoga pavilion are all on offer. Therapies based on traditional Khmer rituals or massage techniques such as Tibetan, Swedish or Ayurvedic can all be performed by highly trained therapists. This ultimate luxury retreat nestled peacefully just a short drive from Siem Reaps’ international airport is bound to become one of the premier hotel destinations in Cambodia. As Leonardo da Vinci so aptly said six centuries ago, “simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”. This adage is reflected in all of the architectural and interior design details of Zannier Hotels Phum Baitang and certainly underpins this new development from Zannier Hotels.

We stayed at the property in July, we had already completed visiting the temples and used this more as a resort to relax in - Pros- The rooms are amazing and well equipped. The pool is by far the best aspect of the property. The toiletries in the bathroom are excellent (if you wish to take any home make sure to purchase it from front desk as it is chargeable). Leo the remo driver is great. Sunset bar is lovely and drinks are genuinely very very good. Cons- We found the food to be grossly overpriced and extremely limited. The breakfast at Viroths (which is less than half the price) had more options and was honestly better. Items would keep running out at the breakfast buffet and were either never refilled or done so very slowly. Dinner and Lunch too the menus are limited, we were hoping to have more french options considering the group and the number of french restaurants in Siem Reap but that was not the case and we eventually just went out to Abacus for dinner (that was great btw). Service is iffy. We arrived back one night and it was pouring. We asked for a buggy but were told it had just gone to drop some guests so it would take very long. We walked back in the rain but the entire property gets flooded in the rain, our shoes and clothes were completely ruined. There is some restaurant or shop or something nearby that plays music late at night and you can definitely hear it. In general Siem Reap has so many 5-star properties at extremely attractive prices and given the final product im not sure Phum Baitang is worth it.

Dear sam2211, Thanks for your very detailed review of Phum Baitang, which we are fully accepting as opinions of our guests are very important to us, please allow me to clarify even for future guests our concept, so that who reads may understand it: Our breakfast is freshly cooked, as such during busy period may take time to prepare items, quality of course it is superior this way and we prefer quality over speed, as such on the buffet we mainly display cereals and fruits and freshly squeezed juices. In our Restaurants you will not find any French item, as even if the Company is based in Europe we prefer to blend into the Country we are in, at Phum Baitang, and in all the other properties of Zannier Hotels, it is our concept and our menus are on our website, still at Lunch times we do provide some comfort food and a Kids Menu as we understand our younger guests may not be ready for new sensorial experiences. Moreover I am glad you have enjoyed Abacus, as it is one of the outside restaurants our Front Office recommends, the offer in Siem Reap is great and caters for all kind of guests, so we do have our own recommended selections and our employees ae pleased to book tables for our guests. Last, I am sure about the buggy there must have been a misunderstand, probably the answer from our staff has been "we are accompanying another guest you need to wait a while" As the property is extensive and the golf cart slow we are just advising the guests when they need to wait, still language barrier may be at time an issue. Thanks again for your review we will treasure it in order to improve further.

A simply magnificient stay. Every part of the hotel (including the amazing food at every meal) was a pure joy. Friendly staff, organised tours (if required) and the most relaxing spa treatment I could hope for. Please visit this wonderful country and resort as soon as you can - you won't regret it.

From the service to the food to the pool to the pool villas this was a perfect experience. Visiting Angkor Wat and other temples are fantastic, but you could more than justify a trip here just to relax at the hotel. We travel pretty extensively at five star hotels but we’re blown away by the place. Can’t recommend the hotel or the chilli and passion fruit cocktail highly enough.

We recently stayed here for our first ever trip to Cambodia and boy, we hit the jackpot. From the minute we were picked up at the airport, everything was absolutely perfect. Everyone we interacted with at the resort was so friendly and accommodating. The property is so unique and beautiful, we didn't even want to leave to view the sites. The style of the property really enhanced how special this trip was - we really felt connected to Cambodia vs just being at a hotel. Sitting and watching the sunset at the Sunset Bar and then walking over to the restaurant for a delicious meal was the perfect ending to the day. In addition, we were able to take advantage of several spa services which were all incredible. I cannot wait to come back - we loved it here. I will only stay at the property when visiting Siem Reap.

Phum baitang is a serene enclosure designed as a Khmer Village around working paddy fields with impeccable facilities perfect for couples families and friends who want culture on their door step but retreat to a natural idyll to soothe their weary souls after. We came to stay for three days from Singapore (a short flight journey and only 15 mins drive from the airport to boot). As people have describe the unique oasis of pleasure that Phum Baitang is already I will share another side of the hotel which we directly experienced - their extraordinary customer service. My wedding anniversary bracelet feel off my wrist while we were out at dinner in siam reap the first night but i didn’t realise until the next morning as which point blind panic descended. I tore apart the room looking for it, combed the paths at the hotel before arriving at their reception to ask if anyone had handed it in. Their level of concern was obvious but they efficiently took down the places we had visited in siam reap the night before and said they would speak to them. However I returned back to our room totally sure that the diamond bracelet would have to be written off. Then Lei comes to our room 3 hours later to ask whether we had located it, glumly we said no at which point he said “So if I told you we had located it that would be good?” And grinned. OMG - we were amazed, and even more so when we understood the work that went into locating it. Hours of CCTV watching go the hotel, of the restaurant, of the bar we had visited in Siam Reap. Really they were incredibly thorough. the bracelet had been found on the path outside the restaurant (Chanrey Tree - great food too) by a waiter and handed in. This event highlights the dedication to guest wellbeing obviously but it was also done with such obvious concern and warmth (and humour!) that I really found utterly exceptional. We experienced this warmth and personable connection everywhere in the hotel, from the staff in the restaurant to the Spa (have the Cambodian Massage you will NOT regret it) to the Boutique (the curation of gorgeous Linen and cotton clothes (Men & Women), cool hats, and local crafts is excellent and saves a trip into Siam Reap, I highly reccomend). Go, Stay, have your soul soothed by experiencing the goodness of humanity, fed and comforted by the Khmer cooking, and your senses stimulated by immersion in a Khmer village ideal (with all mod cons discretely available too!)

From being picked up at the airport through to being dropped back, you will experience a warm, friendly, relaxing and rewarding time here. The facilities are excellent, choice wide and varied and everything oozes quality. My wife and I stayed in a Lodge facing the pool. The Lodges are airy, well equipped and all the little extra’s make your time in them that little bit more relaxing and special. It was but a short pleasant walk for breakfast fit for royalty with friendly faces and attentive staff. The food is excellent and choice very varied. Nothing was too much and our conversations with Giulio and his staff were varied, relaxed and fun. This resort is at the higher price end, but worth every penny. Enjoy the sunset bar with a cigar, good company and fantastic views or grab a tuk tuk and enjoy all that Siem Reap has to offer. We loved it here and hope to be back soon.

We stayed at Phum Baitang recently and now with every photo that I see my heart just longs to go back. We had the most incredible experience, from pick up at the airport to the drop off. The staff is so welcoming and friendly, we have 2 young boys and they were so accomodating, they helped my husband to arrange something special for our anniversary and the list just goes on. The accomodation and facilities are absolute luxury, the photos do not do it justice, it is something that you have to experience yourself. Wholeheartedly would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to go to Siem Reap. Cant wait to go back.

Excellent run resort, great value for money at this price point. The resort and atmosphe are unique, imitating a rural Cambodian village but still at a full five star classification. Good location in relation to Ankor Wat and other temples. Resort will arrange private tours, which can be recommended

We had a wonderful stay at Phum Baitang with our 10 month old baby. The staff went out of their way to make our experience as enjoyable as possible and we were greeted with a smile everywhere we went which made the experience extremely memorable. Nothing was too much effort and everyone was genuine, caring and helpful. The rooms are full of rustic charm using natural wood flooring and organic textures. The way the windows frames the tropical leaves was very aesthetically pleasing. We found the pool villa to be worth the extra money as it allowed us to relax both there and at the main pool alternately. We also took advantage of the babysitting service that was offered. The sunset bar was not to be missed either - one of the most relaxing spots I can remember being in. It is abuzz with the sounds of nature and it feels like being transported back 100 years. The food was extraordinary as well - the pork ribs and rice dumplings for dessert were particularly memorable. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable time - made possible by the excellent staff.
