Hotel Somadevi Angkor Boutique and Resort wins favor among guests for its array of praised amenities, such as a refreshing pool and spacious accommodations, although a few guests suggest the rooms could benefit from more modern updates and firmer bedding. The hotel's cleanliness is a highlight, with the spotless conditions of rooms and pool area frequently called out.
While the hotel's claim to a 5-star status is debated by some who mention overcharges, the location is widely applauded for its balance of tranquility and easy access to local attractions. The service at the hotel is another bright spot, with the staff often described as exceptionally welcoming and accommodating.

Detailed Reviews

Quiet hotel with luxury feel. Modern decor and amazing pool. Guests are invited to enjoy the pool without making too much noise, which is great, so you can truly relax. Stayed 3 nights with family (2 rooms next to each other). Hotel staff all courteous, happy and most helpful. We felt welcomed. Hotel spa was great value. Happy hour at the pool and also in the lobby lounge/bar, delicious cocktails! Enough variety at breakfast. Hotel suitable for family with older kids >8 years, but ok if you have well behaved younger kids.
Close enough to walk to pub street (10-12 mins) and to restaurants (5 mins) along the river. Had laundry done around the corner, washed dried and folded all done in an hour at a very cheap price.
Hotel staff helped organise to see Phare, the Cambodia circus - a must see. Everyone loved it!
Walking distance to The King’s palace, and National museum: a fantastic place to visit help understand the history of the temples.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Somadevi Angkor Boutique and Resort for 5 days in December 2024. The hotel is centrally located and only a short walk or tuk tuk to the attractions of this city. The standout features of the hotel are: spacious, well designed and very clean rooms with balconies; a spectacular pool (estimate about 30 metres by 10 metres) with bar; and great breakfast buffet. The absolute best part is the staff! Everyone was welcoming and kind. They genuinely care that your stay is comfortable. One little gripe is that there was no conditioner in the bathroom so byo! (unusual fir a hotel of this quality). I highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again.

Upon arrival we got offered a beautiful room on 2nd floor, which however was facing a road crossing. We asked to change and half an hour later we had a Garden Room (007), which had a terrace towards a garden, was absolutely quiet, large and comfortable. Particularly Ms Seng Siphon was all the time extremely kind and helpful. Breakfast was delicious! For other meals we went outside...
The location is quite central: a few minutes walk to the old market, shops and restaurants in the surrounding....

Overall this hotel was disappointing! Mainly because of unfriendly and uncaring front desk staff and overcharged. The layout of the hotel is not great, the rooms that face the main street are HORRIBLE, noisy, no privacy whatsoever, zero noise insulation, impossible to sleep. We had to insist with resistant staff on changing rooms to one located by the pool to be able to sleep without street and traffic noise all night (even though the hotel was half empty). The beds are hard and not comfortable, although the rooms are spacious. Redeeming aspect was breakfast which is fantastic with huge choices. We were way overcharged for a terrible couple's massage - charged 10 times the price than we had paid in town in a local mid-range priced spa. Location is not all that good either. We would not stay here again, especially considering Siem Reap has such an extensive choice of lovely boutique hotels.

Dear valued guest, Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear you had a frustrating experience, but I really appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention. In Siem Reap, our hotel location is the best in town. it located on the main street downtown where guests can access to market, or tourist attractions areas or pub street within walking distance. Where we are in the main street downtown, of course there will be busy traffic. We're happy to change room for you if you dont like city view room. Even though we were not running full house but room would be assigned according to your booking reference. All services prices are placed up front. No overcharge and it's not comparable the services in hotel to local street shop. Again, thank you for letting us know about this. We are looking into this issue and hope to resolve it promptly and accurately.” best regards, Ryan, General Manager

Comfortable hotel, reasonably priced. Staff at the front desk are friendly and helpful. They packed breakfast to take with us when we left at 4:30 AM in the morning to see the sunrise over Angkor Wat. We used (and liked) the spa facility on two of the three days we stayed at the hotel. The pool is great for swimming laps. I was a bit surprised (and disappointed) when we were charged extra during checkout because, according to the staff, one of the hand towels that we had used in our room was too soiled.

For sure this is not a 'very good' hotel, but it wouldn't be fair to give them an average review. The hotel is not really a 5 star hotel as it advertises itself. The hotel lacks some aspects that you really expect for this star rating.... the rooms are simple and some aspects feel dated. The breakfast was very average, from the choice to the quality. Coffee wasn't great and they didn't have green tea... actually they only had one local tea on offer.
On the plus side, generally it's clean and totally fine and the staff are very very friendly and attentive. The pool is great... its huge and clean and has a simple pool bar also.

Somadevi Boutique Hotel is an amazing hotel, from our short stay here it felt like home. I would like to thank the manager Mr. Chomroeun who displayed amazing service with his attention to detail and genuine care. Also for Ms. Daliza who always had a friendly smile and made sure that our needs were also met
The hotel rooms are really clean itself and the staff are very friendly and always are willing to cooperate. Breakfast here never disappointed with all the options.
One of the best features of Somadevi is the location, it’s very convenient as it is right here the famous Pub Street and the Angkor Night Market. I thoroughly recommend this hotel for anyone who would like to visit Siem Reap and enjoy a comfortable and relaxing stay!!

I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel. I was not expecting much given the price that we paid. However when we checked-in...the hotel, room and the ambiance was worth more than what we paid for. The location is also walking distance to pub street, river promenade, old market etc. No need to rent a tuktuk to go around the city. In front of the hotel is the best pho noodle soup that I have ever tried for 2-2.5 USD only. Also don't forget to visit the Old Market for the traditional desserts with sweetened coconut milk 1-2 USD.

Very friendly and helpful staff in all areas of the hotel. Huge foyer area that is air conditioned! The pool area is by far the best thing about this hotel - massive and beautiful - especially at the end of a hot day! The room was a good size and the bathroom was spacious with a shower and bath (although the bath looked like it had a drain problem - we chose not to use it). Breakfast was satisfactory. The hotel is in a really good location. I would definitely return here!
