Very clean and basic, yet cozy and comfortable boutique backpacker guesthouse run by a local Cambodian family. The boss is named Prom, an extremely nice guy. We come across this guesthouse while searching for affordable stay in siem reap for our trip. The guesthouse was highly recommended by both tripadvisor and my actual friends who had travelled and stay there previously.

I will describe my experience in 3 parts:
1. The guest house
The guest house do not look very attractive from the outside, but once you enter the room, you will be surprised by the cleanliness of the room. The rooftop restsurant and common area is comfortable, lightings are just comfortable for friends and people gather around and chit-chat. Not to forget to mention that they offer free fish spa, free for. 24 hours, and the guests can soak their feet into the fish tank whenever they want. Our double bed bedroom was initially priced at $17. However, because the guesthouse could not provide breakfast for us due to the cook took festive holiday, the owner gave us discount! And it was only $12 per room per night for us. We believe the breakfast could be very nice, too bad we can't try their breakfast and comment here. The location of the guesthouse is very strategic, it is located near to the old market and pub street, so everything is within walking distance.

2. The tour
The tour arrangement by mr prom and his driver friends, chen and on are magnificent. They are both tut-tut drivers. Their price are reasonable, and they will give constructive idea on how to enhance your experience in your visit to Angkor complex. They had provide us free water for hydration during the hot day, even without our request. Their command in English language is satisfactory, but those Cambodians are very passionate in introducing their homeland to us, so we do have a lot chat, with occasional sign language.

3. The staff
They are very very kind and honest. To be able to stay in their guesthouse is heartwarming. They provide us with all sort of assistance from getting lunch, dinner and breakfast, getting our tour works, and getting our transport around Cambodia after we left siem reap. The other good point I need to mention is mr prom is very quick in replying email, and this put down much of your worriness during the planning of the trip.

Overall, the guesthouse is very suitable for those who seek the feeling of homestay, and the B&B category of stay. The facilities are basic , price is reasonable, and people are honest. Please give this guesthouse a try if you travel to siem reap. Rest assured that most probably you will be satisfied.

The reviews do not lie, this is an amazing hotel to stay at. The staff is incredibly friendly and helps set up tours with tuk-tuk drivers to Angkor wat and other attractions for very reasonable prices.
The free breakfast is absolutely amazing, there is a good selection of tv channels, and the rooms are a good size. The restaurant in the hotel makes delicious food at very cheap prices. The hotel is only about a 10 minute walk to the pub street area, and only a $1-$3 cab ride home.

The only downside of this place is that they don't have shampoo, which isn't really a big deal for myself.

We loved everything about this place and after staying in dozens of guest houses all around Cambodia this has been our favorite.

What we loved:
- rooms are really beautiful
- staff is helpful and speaks good English
- the whole place has a good atmosphere, nice paintings, aquariums etc.
- everything is really clean
- the thing we probably loved the most was the rooftop breakfast that is INCLUDED and tastes very good

There was only one thing that we didn't love: the shower in room 107 had high pressure. Everything else was awesome.

Room Tip: Two dollars more for the bigger rooms on the upper floor are definitely worth it.

Thank you again to the owner Prom for making our stay in Siem Reap unforgettable!! This guesthouse really has it all: free airport pick-up, tasty (and cheap) food, rich breakfast included in the price (and when you leave at 5am to see the sun rise on Angkor Wat, they will prepare you a breakfast bag, that's amazing service!), free fish foot massage, all the staff is really friendly and knowledgeable, happy to share on the Khmer culture, history, etc. The hotel book bus tickets for hardly any commission and organised a cheap and very friendly tuk-tuk for the Angkor Wat visit over 2 days. Our room was very nice, large, with air con, very clean. Computers are available to access the internet, and the wifi signal is very good. Meals are served on the terrace, which is an oasis of peace and quiet, with numerous books available if you feel like reading... And the street is quiet and only a 10-15min walk to the buzzy city centre. We felt so well and relaxed there, we did not want to leave! By far the best quality/price we found in Cambodia and Vietnam!

I just like to express my thanks to Mr Prom his family n staffs for making our stay there memorable and fun.

I went with my family and relatives to Siem Reap recently and i choose to return and stay at Golden Takeo Guesthouse for 5 days.

I'm glad that it has changed for better. One thing did not change are the staffs and owner Mr Prom warm and friendly smile.

These are one of the main reasons I choose to return to Siem Reap 2nd time (1st time in 2010) bringing my family to experience and meet the wondrous people there.

We had a lovely time discovering Angkor temple ruins, magical sunrise and sunset experience. Not forgetting shopping and massage everyday.

Thank you all for making our stay memorable.

We spent 5 days in Golden Takeo GH and it's one of the best choices quality/price we have done in Cambodia. The hotel is very clean, and the rooms are nice, big and very sunny. The rooms in the back are quiet and there's a really nice and quiet terrace in the top where you can eat, drink or just chill out while planning your days in town. The staff and the owner are very fiendly and they all try to give you the best service, always with a smile. It's quite familiar, there's only 5 or 6 rooms and you have a lot of facilities: wifi, bikes, travel information, books...It's not located in the center, but in this rainy season is one of the only areas non flooded by water and it's close to the way to Angkor temples.

Room Tip: During the rainy season, rooms in the 1st floor are better due to the humidity.

My Girlfriend and I stayed for about 10 nights in this great family run guesthouse and we can only recommend to choose it for your stay in Siem Reap. The Guesthouse is well located in a very cozy and quite neighborhood. The Rooms are quite big and well furnished with a desk, kettle and a clothes rack. A big plus is the nice terrace on the roof where you can enjoy the relax after visiting the temples. Even if it's not located in the main area, it's very well located and with 10 minutes walk you’ll reach Pub Street.

Had stayed here 5 times but had not been back in Siem Reap since 2013. Have had friends and family stay here in the last few years so knew that I was in for a pleasant stay again. We were going to stay for 9 nights. Again, the rooms are spotless, cool, and comfortable. A breakfast cooked to order on the roof terrace is a wonderful way to begin your day served by the lovely smiling staff. This place always feels like home because the owner lives here with his family. There is always a relaxed atmosphere. Prom, the owner, can book all tours and activities for you so that takes the stress out of organising things and he will arrange breakfast eArly for you if you have an early pickup. Location is only a 10 minute walk to town across the river and we preferred to do that rather than take a tuk tuk. The street is very quiet at night and you feel you are away from the touristy side of town. You can just see ordinary people going around doing their every day thing. We wouldn't stay anywhere else. There are also plenty of eating places within walking distance and it is an easy walk to Common Grounds coffee shop if you want a good coffee or drink in air conditioning. Also wifi is excellent. So if you want an inexpensive, friendly, relaxed guesthouse to stay in I highly recommend this place whether for a short or long stay.

The rooms are clean, wifi is great, breakfast is delicious and the staff very friendly. It's a little far from pub street but there are great restaurants nearby and a tuk tuk is only $1! The guesthouse will also organize you tuk tuk tours to the Angkor complex which I would recommend!
