Stayed 3 nights in the resort wing. Nice large, quiet room just off the good-sized salt water swimming pool. Breakfast was excellent. Well-located a short walk to the nightlife on Pub Street and several excellent restaurants, but in a quiet lane. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, who assisted with transport and visits to the Angkor temples. A very pleasant, five star experience from our airport arrival until our departure. Would love to return.

I stayed there for a day only. I was lucky to get upgraded complimentary. The property did not amaze me. Cons- old property, you feel congested at the property and inside the rooms. Old rooms, the doors are locked with traditional keys and don’t give a safety feeling. The bathrooms are provided with basic minimal essentials( as written in the bathrooms) - maybe a backpacker likes that but not every tourist. The breakfast is small portions and with less choice. The biggest challenge is access to your rooms as staircase is not very sturdy and comfortable. Pros- polite and friendly staff. It takes less than 15 minutes to go to pub street. Much easier to arrange tuktuk as one or two are always available. Bottom line- it’s either meant for a solo backpacker or a couple who wishes to have a quiet corner to relax with bare essentials.

Dear Honeyk859, Thank you for posting your feedback. However we are a bit surprised about the information you try to share here because indeed you received a free upgrade to one of our best rooms at our hotel and then complaining about a room you didn’t stay in? Really? It seems pretty clear our property wasn’t the right fit for you. Because we are an eco-conscious hotel trying to help reducing the consumption of single used plastics, we have chosen not to provide the normal hotel amenities automatically in our rooms. Instead we mentioned on the sign in the bathroom they are available on request. With a simple phone call to the reception you would have received any amenity you need. In our bathrooms we do have high quality 100% natural locally made hand soap, shower gel and shampoo available in refillable jars or stone dispensers and there is free drinking water served in refillable glass bottles. The breakfast is freshly made and from 6 to 12 mornings and unlimited, you can order as much as you like. Our property is not the right match for everyone. Maybe try to read better next time, because it's all clearly mentioned. With best regards, Tommy

Yes, you CAN believe all the rave reviews. The Rambutan is wonderful in every way. It’s close to the Market quarter, good restaurants (both fancy and modest), and it’s easy to get to the sights. It has a calm atmosphere, is down a quiet lane, and serves excellent food (the equal of any of the nearby restaurants). The staff is the real star here; they are friendly, fun, and extremely helpful. They set us up with a wonderful guide for three days of temple-hopping. The pool is small but just right for relaxing, which is easy to do here. Rambutan caters to every taste and is a much nicer alternative to the five star mega-hotels on the highways.
