After months of planning I have to say we were let down! During our stay we endured a lot of noise and a pool that was out of order! The hotel was busy with renovations and it was an absolute nightmare. No time for relaxation, hammering drilling etc ect from 7:30am in the morning and some evenings till 10pm. After...

The hotel is located near the airport, quite far from downtown Siem Reap, so is not convenient to Pub Street etc. First problem: shuttle driver did not identify himself with an "Empress Hotel" sign and I shouted out "Empress Hotel" to the row of drivers and he did not respond... Me and my wife stayed at empress Angkor from 30dec - 04jan, 2014. New year party was one of saddest ever, the street fun till 9pm at night market was better! Not worth the supplement hotel subjected us too! Beautiful hotel with a very nice pool. The staff is very friendly, service with a capital S! Really big beds in cool rooms. Excellent shuttle service to both city and airport. I had a great time there and would love to come back.
