I had a wonderful stay here for a few days in Siem Reap to visit the impressive temples. The hotel offers the comfort you want and need to relax after intensive sightseeing tours. You can relax in the pool, the rooms are large, beautiful and well equipped. You can get to the centre by tuk-tuk for 2 dollars. The (short) distance brings you away from busy streets and helps to recharge after sightseeing. The staff are very friendly and helpful. You can get tips at reception if you still have time for an additional museum visit etc. I can really recommend the hotel and would love to come back again

Our 4 day stay at Amatak was delightful. The 2 rooms we took were excellent, the meals were tasty, the pool was great to refresh after the heat of the day and our teenage children enjoyed the gym for their workouts. Service was always with a smile and the staff were always friendly and keen to help where they could. Local transport was quickly arranged and suggestions were offered when requested. The staff even surprised our daughter with a birthday cake and song. Overall an excellent stay thanks to the wonderful hospitality of the Amatak staff.

We stayed at Hotel Amatak for 4 nights. From welcome to checkout, we had a great time. The staff were fantastic, and we received such a personal level of help from everyone which really added to our experience...nothing was too much trouble- whether it was a breakfast box at 4.15am or remembering our favourite drink at the bar!

The location for us was great. It wasn't walking distance but a tuk tuk ride at $2 makes the evening start with some fun.

All in all, we had a great time and would recommend it. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and left feeling a little disappointed.

When we first saw our room we were ready to leave the hotel, it was not very clean and smelt very damp and musty, the sink was very chipped and had dirty water in it, the toilet seat was not fitted correctly meaning there was a gap between the seat and the base, and the fittings in the room were all a bit tired. We asked for an alternative room but one was not available however the staff did clean the room and fix the toilet seat.

Our rate was supposed to include a welcome drink and fruit basket but we received neither. Our rate also included a set meal on one night of our stay, I had to ask about this and when I asked if we could book to eat at 8pm (the sign states that the restaurant is open until 10pm) I was told they would have to ask which made me feel a bit uncomfortable. We did get our meal and at the time we requested, the food was delicious and we were stuffed by the end of it, we were the only people in the restaurant.

The room size was good with plenty of space even though we had an additional bed in the room for our son. The shower was powerful and hot which was perfect after a long day exploring the temples. The location is very quiet as it is a bit out of town which was perfect for us as a family. Good size swimming pool that we enjoyed but make sure you put on insect repellant or you will be eaten alive.

Breakfast was available from 7am however when we mentioned that we had a tour booked that meant we need to leave the hotel at 7am one morning the hotel immediately said they could start breakfast earlier (at 6.40am) for us which was much appreciated.

Rate included airport transfer by tuktuk.

Overall we had a mixed stay at the Suorkear and we would not stay here again but perhaps we were just unlucky with our room...

Myself and daughter stayed here in mid January and were very excited to stay at this boutique hotel. Unfortunately, the issues began fairly shortly after we arrived and persisted until the moment we left. We had a day tour immediately after arriving and came back around dinner time, wanting to use the pool after a long day of flying and sightseeing, however the pool closes at 7pm, unreasonably early. Later that night and the following morning, we were continually disturbed by the extremely loud noise coming from every direction, the room allowed all the noise from the surrounding area in and we were unable to properly sleep. The outdoor courtyard permeated with a smell of sewage that we could not ignore. Lastly, for our final breakfast, my daughter was repeatedly called "sir" by the staff who barely understood English even after asking them not to, and were served spoiled eggs which made them extremely unwell. When we mentioned this to the staff they simply sent their well wishes and bid us farewell. The location is far from the down town area and has nothing nearby but a pack of street dogs who begin barking in the early morning. Would highly discourage booking this place for a luxury stay, namely for safety reasons.

We recently stayed here as part of a tour group of Cambodia. What a peaceful place to come back to at the end of a busy day.

The rooms are large and cool, the pool area calming and relaxing, the bar area well equipped, open and cool and the restaurant is a truly beautiful space that serves lovely food.

The staff at the Amatak were so helpful and friendly - nothing was too much trouble.

It is located a short distance from the Pub Street and shopping areas, but nothing a $3 tuk tuk ride won’t fix.

This was the best hotel in our tour of Vietnam and Cambodia. Large cool room with patio door opening to private table adjacent to the pool. Birdsong all around the pool and gardens. Friendliest staff of any of our hotels and less than 10 mins to town by tuk tuk. Our flight doesn’t leave until the evening, and without me asking they offered use of the room and pool until the taxi arrives at 5 pm. Truly great service.

The service was the most extraordinary experience we've ever encountered in any hotel worldwide. The staff is really friendly and forthcoming, and they speak good english. They even brought me a birthday cake and sang happy birthday, so cute! What also needs a special mentioning is the restaurant. The food was incredible good! In fact, even though we visited different restaurants in Siem Reap, our hotel restaurant was the best. The hotel is located in a quiet area, but you only need a few minutes with the TukTuk to reach the center of Siem Reap. The rooms are comfortable and the pool is very beautiful.

We had a wonderful stay at Amatak for a family of 4. The pool was inviting and the kids' sectioned-off area was enough for our children to have a fun time. The hotel also kindly upgraded us to a family suite with a private pool which was lovely. The staff was friendly and supportive throughout. The hotel is located in a quiet residential area but you can easily get a tuk-tuk to get into city centre.

We stayed at Amatak for 3 nights. Comfy bed, good breakfast and restaurant, great pool. The real bonus is the staff who were delightful, courteous and very helpful. They all made such an effort to make us welcome and took interest in what we were doing, they really couldn't do enough for us and are a real asset to the hotel. Special thanks to Norin who arranged a late check out for us which we really appreciated. The hotel is not in the town centre, you need to get a tuk tuk which costs 2 USD each way (hotel staff arranged ) We would recommend staying here.

My sons stayed in a family suite ( without pool) and the rooms were not closed off by doors. It was quite a large room though, with a nice sitting area.

There isn't a water spa attached to the swimming pool. But there is a spa in the spa room. You'll have to enquire with the hotel if you want further details on that. Pretty sure we saw a spa bath as we were walking into the massage rooms. Best room option is the room in front of the pool with the king size beds. I believe they're family rooms. Water pressure and temp can be an issue at times but it didn't bother us and I'm sure if we raised the issue with the staff they would have done something to resolve it asap because the service was unrivalled. But it's up to you. It's pretty hot in Cambodia so having a room temp water shower is not a bad thing. Why walk when you have free tuk tuk service? I don't think they would let you walk lol But if you really wanted to it's quite a hike. I'd say 45mins maybe? Might be more.
