Wonderful property, lush with greenery. Beds are super comfortable. Good in the general restaurant was good. The Khmer restaurant on-site was wonderful. Hotel booking came with a free tour of Angkor. Unfortunately the guide was not as ideal as hoped. Could have been more knowledgeable regarding the history and more engaging. The staff of Shinta Mani were excellent from the booking with Ms Ratanak and all the frontline staff especially Ms Sokha who took care of us wonderfully

Beautiful hotel in quiet central location. Very close to main area. Very friendly staff. Rooms very spacious and clean. Breakfast was lovely. Poolside quiet and peaceful. Very easy to book tours or drivers anywhere. Dinner was also amazing in sister hotel across the road.

This is a great hotel. Rooms are nice, pool even better and staff are top! They are so service minded and genuine. We had the hotel to help us arrange day trips around Angkor Wat, everything was perfect. The guide was great and the driver (from the hotel) perhaps even better. Every time we returned to the car, he was ready with cold towels and refill of cold water. At the pool bar and restaurant the staff was so attentive and we had a great time. The breakfast is really good as well. The hotel get my warmest recommendations.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. The hotel had awesome amenities and a very friendly staff. We took a private tour with Sam to Angkor Wat that was incredible and highly recommend him as a guide. Everything was first class and well worth the price.

The hotel was incredible but my big review was for Sam who took us to Angkor Wat. He was filled with knowledge and incredibly kind! We loved him! Anyone who wants to learn about the history should absolutely request him!

The hotel is very well located, within short distance to restaurants and bars. A very nicely designed property, with so many lovely details! Bill Bensley just gets it right! The team is excellent, always helpful, efficient and with good level of English. All are friendly and do a great job, however I would like to point out Mr. Son, who was available to assist in the best possible way. Breakfast offerings are outstanding, all dishes of good and fresh quality, good and wide choice of dishes. In my personal opinion, the bar snacks (served in the beautiful Bensley Bar), deserve a bit higher quality and creativity. TV reception should be improved, but it seems this issue lies with the provider, as I experienced the same poor quality in another 5* hotel in Phnom Penh. Overall, I would surely recommend to stay at Shinta Mani! Thank you!

Our stay at Shinta Mani was absolutely wonderful from start to finish! We booked the Angkor Heritage package, and added an extra day because we wanted to do a tour of the Kulen Elephant Forest in addition to exploring the ruins of Angkor Wat and other constructions of the Khmer Empire. Since I (Marshal) had been in Thailand working for the previous three weeks, visiting Cambodia in early May was not the ideal choice but rather an opportunistic vacation, and it was face-melting HOT (40C and humid). Our arrival and processing through immigration/customs at the airport in Siem Reap was expedited (a great benefit of the Angkor Heritage package), and in no time we were whisked away by our driver Kosal in an air-conditioned SUV with ice-cold water to drink and ice-cold jasmine-scented towels to cool ourselves down. We were greeted warmly by the front desk staff and offered fresh watermelon juice while we checked in, and then had a relaxing evening in the comfort of our room. After catching a tuk-tuk and spending some time with elephants the next day, we returned to Shinta Mani, freshened up, and then in the late afternoon met with Ep and Somala, two of Shinta Mani’s amazing chefs, at the restaurant for a private cooking class. We learned how to make curry from scratch in a traditional wooden mortar, prepared fish amok (freshwater fish steamed in banana leaf cups), beef sour soup with morning glory and tamarind, a green mango salad with prawns, and hand-made rice dumplings for desert. It was so much fun! The next day started with sunrise at Angkor Wat, so we met our tour guide Sam in the hotel lobby at 4:40am. With driver Kosal at the ready, we were escorted through the process of getting our tickets to enter all the temple sites and joined the droves of other tourists assembling in front of the temples main gates to await the rising sun. From there, we were taken on an amazing and informative tour of the Angkor Wat complex. Sam was not only extremely knowledgable, but had a very kind way about him that made us feel like we were with a long time family friend. Beyond simply relaying facts, Sam shared so much about the Cambodian culture that the title of tour guide really does not do him justice (also, he is a master with the iPhone vertical panorama shots to capture the grandeur of key temple photo-ops). After a quick break for breakfast at a local restaurant (with a lovely little boxed meal from the hotel with fresh fruit and delicious pastries), we continued on to other amazing sites including the temple used in the first Tomb Raider film (Angelina Jolie is quite a celebrity here having been an early advocate for the wonders that Cambodia has to offer). With the heat just as oppressive as the day before, a steady supply of ice-cold drinking water and jasmine-scented towels were waiting to rejuvenate us each time we returned to the car to travel to the next site. We were back at the hotel around noon and ready to relax and continue to rehydrate after a long, sweaty day. That evening, a thorough full-body massage at the Shinta Mani spa only furthered our recovery. On our last full day, we had the pleasure of spending it with Sam and Kosal again, this time venturing further by car to explore two much more remote temple-sites, one of which was not a UNESCO World Heritage site and had been left mostly undisturbed since it was abandoned hundreds of years ago, giving a true picture of just how much the jungle had consumed some of the greatest constructions of ancient human civilization. On the journey, we got a chance to talk with Sam about current Cambodian culture and everyday life as we passed through small rural villages and farming communities. We finished our last day with the Angkor Heritage package special dinner. I have never been to a Michelin restaurant, but I have to imagine that this would be in that category. The creativity, flavor profiles, and service were all second-to-none. I could go on and on about the four nights we spent at Shita Mani (in fact, looking back at this review it seems that I already have). Honorable mentions for the included breakfast buffet and menu (I recommend the avocado toast with poached egg and salmon, yum) and poolside bar service (Khmer G&T were great to beat the heat). But in the end, the staff were what truly set Shinta Mani apart from any other resorts we have stayed at, making us feel at home during our epic journey. Can’t wait to go back.

We absolutely loved this hotel. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Our room was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. The pool was gorgeous, with just the right mixture of sun and shade. The vast selection of food at breakfast was delicious. An added bonus for me was that because it is a low-rise hotel, there are no elevators (I hate elevators!) We only stayed for a few days, but we had a wonderful time and felt completely at home here. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so memorable.

The Shinta Mani Hotel is great choice in Siem Reap and within easy walking distance of the town. It’s very stylish with beautiful gardens and the staff are exceptional. We had booked a sunrise trip to Angkor Wat and had thought we would miss breakfast on our first morning, but reception staff called us to check what we were doing and they had a packed breakfast ready for us at 4.15 am which was much appreciated. The pool area was lovely with staff who came around to offer a back message. The restaurant was excellent with great choices at breakfast, and again great service from all the staff. We used the hotel car for our transfer to the airport and the driver, like all the hotel staff we met, was friendly and professional. Great stay in a beautiful hotel and I would highly recommend it.
