Unique and peaceful place, The real Cambodian hospitality, beautiful rooms with details, fantastic swimming pool and excellent local foods. We really recommend the place for everyone who want to visit Siem Reap.
We had a wonderful 5 night stay at Maison Polanka. We had the garden house with 2 bedrooms, a lovely balcony and hammocks underneath. The gardens and design made this feel like an incredibly peaceful and private place, very different to the feel at bigger resorts. The location was good being right in the centre within an easy walk of the river and town centre area, or the hotel would organise a tuktuk within minutes. The pool and restaurant area is very well laid out and an extremely pleasant place to relax in the afternoon after sightseeing. We had dinner in the hotel 4 nights and the food was always high quality and mostly interesting and tasty local dishes, with a nice choice of international as well. Food and wine were also fairly priced given the quality. The staff throughout Maison Polanka (from the ladies in the restaurant to the team at the gate) were fantastic and friendly as well efficient and professional. They spoke good English and were always patient and good with our kids. We had a great time and would thoroughly recommend it. Stay here rather than a big resort.…
Had a fantastic stay at Maison Polanka. We stayed in a garden villa - 2 rooms. Was in a great location in the city. Staff were friendly and helpful. The place had good food (lots of vegetarian options for us). And i had a massage which was also great. Would highly recommend.
Maison Polanka exceeded our expectations in every way possible and we had some high expectations from this property based on the reviews and the photos. Trust me the pictures do not do justice to the property, their stand out service and attention to detail. We went in the absolute low season and the resort was kind enough to upgrade us to a larger room. What really impressed us was the fact that despite being the only guests on the property the place was run with absolutely no compromise. Every morning the poolside was carefully prepped with towels and straw hats stylishly placed on every single pool lounge, every evening the pathways were lit with lanterns and the restaurant was prepped for dinner (even on days when they knew we were eating out), there were cold towels waiting for us at the gate every time we came in to the resort, the tuk tuk was always stocked with cold water and cold towels in an ice box. The service and staff were warm, discreet and intuitive. The rooms and grounds were stunning, the gardens were lush and well tended to. And our room was splendid. The rooms are beautifully curated with excellent furniture, fabrics and art while still retaining the charm of a well kept home. Our large outdoor living over looking the pool and gardens was a highlight. Enough cant be said about Maison Polanka , it needs to be experienced ! The only suggestion I have is that they can improve their lunch and dinner menu, but then again Siem Reap has great options for eating.…
From the moment you arrive to the moment you drive out of the gates, this experience could not be better. Personal, intimate and above all Cambodian. The food rivals any restaurant you would visit in the city. There is no where more tranquil nor relaxed. Everything can be arranged by the hotel, and there will be trips and temples that you will not have discovered on your second or third visit to Siem Reap. Personally I think that as an escape from Phnom Penh this is the perfect getaway with no need for excursions or restaurants, just spend a few days here, then probably extend your stay. A personal thank you to Thea and her team for giving my family an I a perfect mini break. PS. Stephanie is still talking about her massage!
Maison Polanka is paradise! We spent five nights in the Yellow Suite, and it is so quiet and tranquil we felt like the only guests at the hotel. The quality is evident from the decor, the food and the service - with everyone going above and beyond to ensure we had a once in a lifetime experience. We came back hot and tired from temple hopping each afternoon, and spent the rest of the day in the stunning pool, and honestly didn't want to leave. We would go back in a heart beat, and highly recommend!
In the middle of Siem Reap there is this fine, quiet place to relax and reflect all the impressions from the long Angor days. Mainly managed by women with a big heart and a fantastic sense of serving their guest.
This hotel is total paradise, I hope to go there in the afterlife. The service is perfect and always in anticipation of every desire. The decoration and garden is tropical paradise. The food is fantastic (I’m French, trust me) and the atmosphere is calm and beautiful. Probably the best hotel I’ve been to in my life (I’ve been to hundreds) and worth detouring your interplanetary journey by a few light years. Thanks for these beautiful few days.
We stayed 3 nights at this boutique property in January 2020 and loved it. Excellent location, beautiful grounds, superb staff, lovely restaurant, nice touches. We stayed in the green room, which was quite large with beautiful simplistic local decor, and a huge private deck with coffee/tea/fruit/refrigerator. There appear to be several nice modern hotel properties in town, but this place is more special. We loved the traditional wooden houses - with a lot of interesting history of the property - but with modern amenities. The staff was super attentive and helpful in every way, coordinating an activity itinerary ahead of time, and booked daily tours (temples, circus, spa, biking). There are nice little touches throughout the property, like spa scrubs in the bathroom, hats and wraps by the pool, local artist recommendations, ear plugs provided when music from wedding and funeral services at the nearby temples went long into the night (which I actually found to be charming and interesting to hear the culture), and we loved the use of the traditional bikes to very easily access locations in town (though tuk tuk taxis were just as easy, and could even walk). We very much enjoyed the charming restaurant for breakfasts, and a few lunches and dinners - they even stayed open late to accommodate a dinner for us - and packed a beautiful picnic breakfast and great coffee for our early morning tour. Overall, this property exceeded all our desires. The hotel and spa staff were amazing! I can't wait to visit again someday.…
We spent five idyllic days at Maison Polanka. It was an oasis of calm, peace and serenity in the bustle of Siem Reap. The suites are beautifully arranged, marrying modern design with local orignal artwork - uniquely designed by the owner Nathalie. The grounds are spacious, and the pool a dream after a day of visits. The manager, Thea, provides invaluable advice on how to time visits to each Angkor temple to avoid the crowds. She arranged for every aspect of our trips: guides, tuk tuks, dance performance, bike ride in the countryside, massage on the premises,.. The staff is always kind, helpful and trying their best to accommodate every request. Oh, and I forget the food! A memorable trip!
