We spent 3 nights at this hotel with its spectacular lobby, original pool, beautiful gardens, and charming if somewhat dark rooms. But in our “package” we were obliged to pay for....and partake in a XMas eve meal that had nothing to do with Cambodia and its delicious Khmer food;

A wonderful colonialist style hotel with amazing lobby, theatre and rooms. The gardens around the lobby are impressive however heading into your room the garden could be shaped! I love the interior design of our villa but unfortunately I found the bathroom not easy to use. You

What a superb hotel - this is a really stunning place to stay. Beautiful, peaceful surroundings away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to town for easy access and everything else you are likely to want to see. The staff are so friendly and helpful and nothing is too

Does anyone know the dress code for the Christmas Eve gala dinner?
No idea, best is to contact the hotel staff directly

I would suggest contacting the following: Asia Vipa Travel and Tours and talk to Mr. Vivath. My husband and I took a 5 day package which included driver, guide, lunch and dinner. The most fabulous journey. Enjoy the trip

Hi, I paid 155 for 3 day tour which included dinner drinks and a show. The tour was private with driver and a English speaking tour guide, was worth every cent!

Hi, There is 2 options here, the pool villa's (which we had) have their own pool, it is modelled on a round house, so there are 4 suites surrounding a private (well semi private) pool. Depending on time of day for sun I guess. The normal rooms follow along a "river pool" which all have access to. This resort is a "botanical garden" so lots of trees and shade. If you are going soon I would suggest the last thing you will be looking for is sun. We were there in the cooler time (Nov) and it was very hot!! (I am originally from outback Australia so I know hot) For my opinion if you have the budget take a pool villa, but you may not get all day sun on your private sun bed. We loved this resort it is about 1/2 way between the town centre and Angkor Wat. BUT I think it is a little overpriced for the area and DO NOT use the Spa. Looking once there I noted that all the Boutique hotels look very good. DONT use the bigger hotels, they will have a big pool but just truck in busloads of tourists. I looked at your reviews to understand what you may need and it seems your a foodie so a must is the Sugar Palm restaurant. Make an evening Booking (you must book, very popular), go when you first get there, you may want to eat more than once. I prefer "street" food, but sometimes there are special ones like this. Pub street, better to avoid restaurants there, but the little side streets around offer great choices. Check my reviews re the hotel and areas around. Advise to take a tour guide, its cheap and you will get better understanding of the history, we didn't, mistake!! This is a special place for sure, get the most from it. If you have the budget I am told Raffles Grand Hotel is exceptional. Enjoy. Cheers...
