We stayed here recently and would highly recommend. It is clean, cosy and close to the centre. There are lovely seating areas and little guides to amazing places to eat. They provide a helpful booklet on what they provide also. We had breakfast which is lovely. Used the laundry service very good. Tuk tuks to the temples and airport very reasonable and enjoyable. We were lucky enough to be invited to listen to a talk that the owner had prepared for a U N conference the following day in Bangkok. It was fascinating and interesting. The Ly family, some of whom survived a traumatic past, have turned a horrific experience into a positive by providing Education to disadvantaged children. If you stay at the guest house you will be supporting a good cause too.
We actually stayed here in November 2018 and have just been slow to leave a review. The highlight about this place was the staff. And the fantastic driver we booked for 3 days, Wana (potentially wrong spelling, pronounced 'wu-nar'), with 7 candles. The rooms arent luxurious, but they are comfortable, clean, and great value with working a/c. Most importantly, by staying here you're supporting a fantastic cause. I'd recommend Seven Candles anyway because of its location, comfort and staff, but because of its foundation I'd say its the essential Siem Reap stay.
Great place to stay with very helpful staff. The room was very good with everythign that we needed. We organised our trip to angkor wat with them and it was very good at a good price. We had breakfast one day which was very nice. 10 minute walk to the centre of town which was good. We also donated some money towards their charity which helps to educate children that come from very poor viilages and so they do great charity work as well.
Here, you get to almost feel part of the family house. Everyone is lovely and will help meet your needs. They make breakfast, arrange tuk-tuks or air-conditioned cars with tour guides, do your laundry, arrange tickets, provide water, give recommendations on things to do and places to eat, and provide clean, comfortable, basic rooms. We arranged a three-day tour guide and air-conditioned car through 7 Candles. We were so happy we did. The temperatures and humidity, and the condition of some roads, made us very happy to have a driver with ac. The guide was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable and showed us much more than we would have seen on our own - and had great suggestions on where the best photo sites were.
The family and staff were wonderful and gracious hosts. The atmosphere was friendly and we made to feel like a member of the family. There is a no-shoes policy. The room and public spaces were squeaky clean. Air conditioning a plus. Location was convenient and was walkable distance to places such as Old Market and Pub Street. If we wanted to venture further, the family has several tuk tuks available. The family was very helpful and accommodating. They helped us arrange trips and provide great recommendations for things to do and to eat. We are especially grateful to them for connecting us to La Rorn (has a same Facebook handle), who was our very personable English speaking guide to the temples. La was super knowledgeable and planned one of our best days of our visit and turned out to be a superb photographer. The family also helped us arrange and prepay for bus transportation to Phnom Phen (which required them to make several calls to multiple bus companies). We were very happy with the bus experience. The family’s selection of services and who they engage was an extension of the high standard to which they hold themselves. We highly recommend Seven Candles Guest House and would not hesitate to stay there again. …
