The first thing you notice about Sokha Palace Siem Reap Hotel is just how pretty it is! The architect, painters, decorators and maintenance staff did a fabulous job (see my photos). The second thing you notice is how delicious the huge buffet is – including free espresso drinks. Third, you notice that the rooms are not only nice but that everything works well (aircon, hot water showers, refrigerator, wifi, and cable TV with news channels from a half dozen countries like CNN). Fourth, it is in a quiet location less than 15 minutes from Angkor Wat, and only a $2 tuktuk ride to Pub Street or anywhere else in Siem Reap.
But then you notice the best part: the outstanding hotel staff. For example, the Front Desk Manager Phyrun personally helped me when I could not make my room keycard work, and even brought me a bucket of ice. Originally I booked five nights during Chinese New Year with Trip.com discounts for $39/night, but he gave me a free upgrade from a garden view double with king bed to a pool view room. I liked it so much I wanted to extend, but the best I could find online was $41/night garden view, $51 for pool view. I asked Phyrun if I could get the upgrade again if I bought the $41 online, and he said no – but he smiled and said he would give it to me for $40/night the Khmer rate instead (normally $50 for barangs like me)!
The restaurant had other examples of great staff. Some days the restaurant is overflowing with several hundred guests, other days only a few dozen. Yet they maintain the quality and personal touch from the egg and soup station, to the bountiful buffet, to the waiters and waitresses that clear the tables. The Restaurant Manager Somedy and his Assistant Manager Chhaiya keep it all flowing smoothly. Even on the busiest day, waitress Chanthla took the time to show my Khmer friend’s elderly stepmom the way they fold the napkins. Today the espresso machine was not working for a while, so Chhaiya offered to have a waiter drive over to the sister hotel to bring me lattes. I repeatedly declined, but was very impressed by the excellent customer service attitude.
So the real beauty of this French chateau style hotel is its employees, including very efficient housekeeping and grounds staff. I checked out the “5-Star” Sokha Resort on the other side of its convention center, but did not like it half as much (especially for 70% more per night). Normally I would be afraid to write a review of a hotel that I like so much, but with 456 rooms I don’t have to worry about it being full. Do yourself a favor and stay here when in Siem Reap.

Hotel staff are very attentive, courteous, good grasp of English communication. Amenities are well thought designed and maintained. Eg: international power point sockets. We stayed only 2 nights so we have not tried the pool. Buffet breakfast has pleased both Asian and Western tourists for their delicious dishes and cleanliness. We'll definitely come here again with my family and friends. My travel agent booked this hotel in a multi tour package so I have no idea how much it costs.

This place is worth way more than it costs you to stay here. The rooms are huge, the bed was huge, and the balcony was a terrifically pleasant place to sip Coffee in the morning. [I was on the shady side]. You can have the pool almost to yourself in the mornings and afternoons, because most people have gone off to the temples. The breakfast buffet is outstanding, and they have an espresso machine for you to pick your favorite option. It is difficult to choose a most wonderful staff member, but my personal favorite was Sofina at the front desk. But everybody there was as kind and helpful as they could possibly be.

We recently stayed and had retreat at Sokha Palace Hotel. It's wonderful experience. Since we arrived early and Mr. Phyrum & Team who are very helpful , attentive and accommodate our members with a warm welcome. They made us feel like home. And thank you Ms. Um Vorleak and Sreymeas for your great support and very well arranged with all our requests. From the beginning we checked and having breakfast, Meeting Space, the room was spacious with pool view. We also really enjoy swiming time as it has kids and adult's depth area. It is big swimming pool.
We like to give a comment of breakfast, fried noodles and noodle soup a bit salty. However, the rest of foods are yummy.
Indeed, our stayed at Sokha Palace was exceeded our expectations. We'll definitely be back!
Thank you to you all from BOL Church Members

The hotel was excellent. The rooms were spacious and our bed was huge. The buffet breakfast was great as well. Lots of variety, both hot and cold. The staff was also exceptional; the team of Bunchav, Meanna, and Lin was very helpful with all our little requests. They were always friendly and smiling and you couldn’t help but feel welcome. I would have liked more English TV channels, but I didn’t come to Siem Reap to watch TV! Definitely a great place to stay.

The hotel is clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly and eager to help. My only negative is there is only one meal choice on the dinner menu for for people who don't eat meat. That said the food was very good. A great night market is just a short tuk tuk ride from the hotel.

We spent 4 nights at Sokha Siem Reap. Its a beautiful hotel, with a beautiful pool. All the Stagg are so polite and attentive to your needs. We approached Lin the Receptionist and told her we felt our air conditioner was not working properly. It was addressed immediately and we had a cool room for four days. I would say here again, it was great.

Hotel is a little out of town, but tuk tuk's are plenty and cheap - a 10 minute ride . Hotel pool is large with warm water. Poolside bar, but unusual that drinks cannot be charged to room. Hotel only serves breakfast and light lunches. Staff are very helpful and friendly. A special mention to Meanna and Naroth on reception who provided help and assistance and were extremely good at communicating with us.

I had a very nice stay in Sokha Palace hotel. The staff was so kind. One of them, Mr Chamreun, particularly impressed me with his availability and attentiveness. The location is ideal for those who want a calm and relaxing stay. The service is very good and the value for money is excellent.
