I had got in touch with Mr. En Chamnan at least a month before my travels to Siam Reap and he was always forthcoming to all my queries not only regarding the property but on activities in Angkor Wat as well to the extent of even discussing my route map around Angkor for which I am grateful to him. I was traveling with my family and just to experience the property had booked a Grand & Sabara Suite along with a Deluxe twin with them for my length of stay i.e. 3 nights. I must say all the rooms are very tastefully done up, clean & well maintained. Now, coming back to the property it’s a not a typical brick and mortar structure but opens up to a beautiful well maintained garden with a swimming pool. Since, all our rooms were on the ground floor all the rooms opened up to this garden. Now other than the size the major difference between the Grand & Sabara Suite is that the latter comes with a private swimming pool & a bathtub inside the room which is great fun however, I personally wouldn’t recommend the former as the Grand Suite’s only differentiator is a bathtub in an open space. The F&B options inside the hotel offered at the Royal Spice restaurant & poolside bar is a culinary treat & they are more than helpful in involving you in the experience. The quality of ingredients, cooking & presentation is of pretty high standard. In fast their website provides detailed menu of the restaurants. However, it’s advised to stick to the timings at the restaurants as they can’t make any exceptions there. Now coming to the location it’s about 20 minutes from Angkor Wat and 15 minutes from Pub Street which is nightlife hub for Siam Reap and the best part is the hotel organizes a tuk-tuk for drop & pick-up at $2 to Pub Street however the only condition being you have to return by 10.30PM after which it will cost you around $5 to return to the hotel. Lastly & most importantly the staff of Sabara is extremely warm & welcoming and doesn’t make you feel that you are staying in a hotel. They are always ready to serve with you a smile & take care of you. I would like to put in a special mention for Mr. Sothea who welcomed us in a most pleasant & cordial way which you rarely see in most properties & also briefed us on the different activities available in the property, along with him each & every staff of the hotel is very polite & affable. Even I would highly recommend the Haemon Spa which offers an extensive selection of massages & scrubs. Also, every Friday evening the property hosts an Apsara dance which is a must experience unfortunately I could watch only a little bit of it as I had already planned my itinerary earlier. However, I will highly recommend the Apsara Dance, don’t miss it! Generally, I avoid writing such long reviews as it’s a pain to read through it however, my experience was such that I also wanted you to be a part of it……
One of the best back massage I ever had! I consider myself a person who knows what a good massage is, and Sabara SPA has the best massage therapist Ms. SoKunthea! The therapy room is amazing has a big shower and a bath tube, with just the perfect illumination. The girls were both very kind and the tea I got at the end was very tasty. I can not recommend this SPA enough! Thank you Sabara Angkor team and specially Ms. SoKunthea!
Room, bathroom, staff, pool, restaurant are great. We had luck that they had a deal for $35 pn. Extremely good value. Normal it would be $120 pn, for that price I would not stay there. The Khmer dishes in the restaurant had a very tasty special twist, delicious. Big choice of breakfast, good cappucino. Staff is really great.
Nice rooms. Great pool. But what makes the hotel truly special is the staff. They really bent over backwards to accommodate us. Whether it was planning our travel within Siem Reap or attending to any need we had on-site, the staff was prompt and responsible. Rakyut was a great aid to us and we appreciate him and everyone else at Sabara. Would love to visit again.
