My friend and I booked this hotel via booking.com. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk to the town (Hard Rock and the bar street) . However, what all sites fail to inform us is that the front of the hotel road is under construction and it was all dusty (No road). We have a free airport transfer to our surprise is actually a tuk tuk (motorbike) With 2 big luggages and hand carries i was worried. It took us 25 minutes to reach the hotel from the airport. When we arrived. The hotel is nice but all dusty. We got a nice room however the bathroom is so small that everything got wet. The water splashed and wet the whole bathroom. But the staff are kind enough to clean it each time after we shower. The Hotel Service was great! We went to Angkor Wat Sunrise tour and the hotel packed us breakfast since we are not able to have breakfast at the hotel. The tuk tuk driver that we hire is super great, brought us to places that is less touristic and the tour to Tonle Sap is worth every penny. He also brought us to a place where we buy paintings directly from the artist himself. The hotel breakfast is limited but it is nice. The pool is cooling but the drawback is if you come back late and you walk, it is too quiet. There are many small cafes and restaurants around for you to dine in beside the hotel. The dusk is all over the city and we have to wash our clothes and dry indoors daily. Other than that, the hotel is great

We went to Siem Reap during the Lunar New Year and our regular hotel was booked so we decided to give the Vihara Residence a shot. It had good ratings on Agoda. The pictures showed a charming little place with much greenery. They offered an airport pick up so they were off to a good start. First impressions are important and we were shocked to find the street in front of the hotel was torn up, rutted and dusty. Not the hotel's fault I told my partner. We climbed up to the hotel entry and came to the registration desk. The young lady who signed us in was a bit full of herself and neglected to serve us our "welcome drinks". We did notice the place runs on a minimal staff. She showed us to our room and had a dickens of a time getting the door to open (we needed at least four tries each time). The room was clean and large with large windows on both sides (one over looked the pool and the other had a small balcony). There was an electric kettle and instant coffee, bathrobes and slippers, and a stocked fridge plus free bottled water. One of the cups was chipped and my robe had a hole in it. The airconditioner worked well eventually and we eventually figured out the TV. The beds were comfortable, but the decorative pillows were badly stained. Breakfast was OK although the fresh fruit got smaller and smaller as they ran out of fruit. The swimming pool was wonderful although a bit over chlorinated. In five months they will have a brand new street with working drains. Perhaps the cup will be replaced, the cushions washed, the robe changed, and the staff will be that much more experienced and will remember to buy fruit and serve a welcome drink. Then it would be worth the title of Boutique Hotel, and I'll go back.

This is a small hotel in a quiet area of Siem Reap. Unfortunately during our stay the road outside was dug up and was left as a dirt road which made it very hard for tuk tuks to get to the hotel as it was so bumpy but I assume it'll be resurfaced soon. It would have been nice for the hotel to have informed us of the road works as one afternoon was incredibly noisy as a digger made it's way down the street digging up everything in sight. The room was large and nicely decorated. The bath and shower had a design flaw in that you flood the bathroom if you try and use the large shower head which was a shame. The pool area is nice although the space around it is pretty small and so there were a couple of occasions where I had to move out of the way to allow people to pass. Breakfast was pretty standard although i would recommend the french toast. If you're leaving early for a trip, let them know and they will package up breakfast for you to take away which was a nice touch. My main disappointment was with the staff. I can't fault the older man and women who were helpful, it was the younger staff who were always watching things on their phones behind the bar or at reception. We always felt like we were interrupting them and putting them out by asking them for a drink or a question. We stayed 5 nights and our towels were replaced everyday despite the fact we had hung them up which was a little disappointing and there was also nowhere to refill our water bottles.

It’s on a dirt road. Rooms are not as nice as shown online and the bathroom floods when you shower. Although to be fair, very comfortable. The staff are nice apart from one miserable young lady that serves breakfast. Online pics of the pool area are misleading, it’s small and not as big as you might think.
