Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favorite
This is a nice hotel. On a street of mostly low rise buildings and a few loud and bald hotels superficially trying to present themselves, the Golden Temple Villa sign, almost hiding but definitive in its black steel design is like a special address, known only to those who need to know. The entry sequence is one of the most striking features, a short quiet walk along a planted lane, turn through a concrete arch with hanging plants overhead, and short views of the pool through shutters on the way to sunlight on the sculpture of an Angkor king at the turn. Then more views of the pool through a dense row of thin trees and finally the lively reds, violets, oranges and sharp angular details of the walls and columns of the hotel interior which are all well-maintained. This is the process of making your way to the place where you want to be.
The biggest asset of this hotel is the very friendly and attentive staff. Quickly grasping the importance of a food allergy, we felt cared for by all staff from the restaurant to the front desk. Staff move around the facilities and appear to enjoy each other and their collective objective to find ways to serve the guests. At the restaurant we got to know Vanna, Sophean, Sreynit and Sydet and they us. Same for Ren, Kunthea, Pheak Tra and Sophon at the front desk (name tags are very important!). The manager Richard always makes morning rounds to see how the guests are, evidently proud of this establishment.
Seeing and being recognized by familiar and eager faces in the mornings and when returning later in the day with their unfailing patience with our ongoing and hopeless attempts at their language is high value hospitality. We ate several times at this restaurant and appreciated the range and quality of traditional foods.
For a dinner to watch Apsara dancing, we visited the sister Golden Temple Residence and Hotel. Dinner was good and very well presented. These facilities are of similar design with added ornament, height and feature a stage. They also suffer from road noise and a busy intersection that made us happy to return to the peaceful atmosphere of the Villa.

What an incredible stay! We spent 2 nights at the golden temple villa and had a great stay start to finish. Firstly the free airport transfer (there and back) we got warmly greeted at the airport by the hotels general manager and put straight on a shuttle with air con and cold towels. When we arrived at the hotel our room was already prepared (we were much earlier than the 14:00 check in time!) and we were given a lovely fresh lemonade, fruit and sticky rice with mango and talked through all the amazing freebies the hotel offered including: a 3 course lunch, dinner, packed lunch, a traditional Khmer massage each and breakfast with extensive menu. We booked onto the hotel’s tour of Angkor Wat with Narang (not 100% that’s how it’s spelt!) which was a reasonable price of £85+entry ticket (£37pp) and simply said we’d like to see the sunrise and with no extra cost they made sure this was sorted, although meant an early 04:30AM start!!! Would highly recommend this tour, we learnt loads and Angkor Wat is a must see, a bit like a Pompeii of temples, incredible. Because of the early start we had plenty of time to relax by the pool where we ordered some drinks and got bought additional treats including fresh fruit and cold towels. The staff in the restaurant were really great and couldn’t do enough for you. We rounded off our stay with the free massage which was also incredible. My only slight criticism would be one night was a little noisy but this was only the case for one night so can’t complain. 5-10 minutes from pub street walking and there are plenty of tuk tuks if you don’t fancy the walk. Siem Reap is lovely and would’ve loved to have had a few more days here but would really recommend this hotel to anyone!

We came to celebrate my mother’s 60th Birthday. They were so accommodating! They surprised my mom by decorating her room with ballons, wrote her name with flowers, and provided a birthday cake!
It was clean, welcoming, well decorated, and the staff were all friendly. I enjoyed the welcome drinks, fruits, and the Cambodian dessert wrapped in banana leaves (filled with sweet sticky rice, coconut, and jackfruit).
The hotel rooms had a great floor plan with the toilet in its separate room while the shower in another. The sink and mirror were outside in the common area. We had three people staying in our room so it was easy access for each individual. Please stay! You won’t be disappointed!

Just home from my second visit to Golden Temple Villa, and already thinking about when I can return to Siem Reap and this great little hotel. I really love this place, close to town, just a 10 minute walk along Sok San Rd from all the action, but set back from the busy road and totally peaceful. Great loungers by a small but perfect pool, comfortable rooms and such welcoming and helpful staff. The included Khmer massage was really nice and so relaxing too after a busy day touring the temples.
The pickup service from the airport was smooth and Ngoun who was there to collect me was so welcoming and friendly with fresh cold mint towels & chilled water ready for me. So nice to be collected from the airport like this.
I cannot recommend Golden Temple Villa enough. Walking into the hotel from the street, the frantic crazyness of town just lifts away into peace, quiet,, a cooling pool and warm hospitality. Well done to everyone at Golden Temple Villa, I hope to see you again before too long.

This has been our best value and favourite stay whilst travelling around south east asia for 5 months.
We arrived at 6.30am by nightbus and by 7.30am we were able to check in early and get some well needed rest at no extra cost which we were over the moon with.
The room was big, bright, clean and comfortable.
Included in the room rate is a number of meals which were really tasty and made the hotel rate amazing value for money.
All the hotel staff are exceptionally friendly and warm and would do anything to help during our stay.
The pool area is lovely and we enjoyed happy hour cocktails, although we found the pool a little too cold for us!
We also took a 2 day Angkor Wat tour with the hotel which was amazing and although not cheap, we felt decent value for money as our guide Phirum was fantastic and we learnt so much about the country history as well and current Cambodian culture and he knew the best spots for photos!
Thank you for our lovely stay!

The purpose of our stay was for a cheeky little fly and flop getaway. Having been to Cambodia once before we were keen to return. We were greeted at the airport bright and early with smiling staff ready to transport us to our accommodation. On arrival, smiling faces, cool towels and drinks were awaiting us. Check in process was very pleasant and to our delight our room was ready early so we were able to check in immediately.
Our room was large, bright, clean and stylish. The bed was a little firm for my liking but staff were only to happy to make me more comfortable by adding a mattress topper.
We enjoyed a lunch and dinner which were very tasty. Massages and massage environment too were very enjoyable. All staff were pleasant and helpful.
Our time was spent relaxing by pool and taking the complimentary bicycles for a whirl around the streets exploring.
We liked the location of the villa, not too far from the main shopping and restaurants.
As we had decided not to bring our mobile phones with us, we were provided with the use of a local mobile phone for if we needed to contact the villa for any assistance.
It was a wonderful fly and flop and we hope to return one day and stay again.

Look no further for hotel accommodation if you are venturing to Siem Reap. The service from the moment we landed at the airport was spectacular. I particularly want to highlight the food and tour guide service. First, the breakfast was always top notch. We had a variety of options from local Khmer choices to western dishes. It was never overcrowded and our food was brought out quite quickly...and always with a smile. However, what stands out even more is the truly remarkable 2-day tour of Ankor Wat and the surrounding temple complexes. My guide, Mr. Chhong, was intelligent, funny, and knew the best locations to take a pic without anyone being a "photo bomb". The tour is very cost-efficient as you are able to see a variety of temples in a very comfortable AC car (you will need it...PS - drink plenty of the complimentary water). I must say, Mr. Chhong was the highlight of my trip, and I would recommend him to anyone in search of a bit of history about this remarkable country.

We loved everything about this hotel and we wish we could have stayed here longer, but sadly we Americans don't get a lot of vacation time. I did so much research about where to stay in Siem Reap and all the amazing reviews for this property won me over and let me just say, they did not disappoint!
I was worried about the location of this hotel and that it would be too far away from the center of the action near Pub Street, but I had nothing to worry about. It's just a 10-ish minute walk to Pub Street or a quick tuk tuk ride for $2 (we walked).
From the moment we exited the airport, until we returned to the airport 2 days later, and everything in between, this hotel and its amazing staff was there for us. A couple days before we were supposed to check in, the hotel reached out to us to get our flight arrival details and when we landed, they were ready and waiting at the airport to pick us up, wonderful!
Check in was a breeze, we sat in the lobby and provided our passports while staff took care of the rest. We were given a welcome drink and snack while we waited.
Our room was wonderful, spacious and decorated beautifully to help us celebrate a special time! They provide plenty of drinking water.
We booked a sunrise tour of Angkor Wat for the next day with a private guide and driver, the hotel took care of everything for us and it cost $85 ($40 for the driver, $45 for the guide). They even arranged for breakfast boxes to take on the tour. After our tour, we returned to the hotel and enjoyed complimentary lunch, followed later by complimentary dinner. And both were wonderful, if you get the chance, definitely eat here!
All the staff were so nice and remembered our names! We kept saying to each other what a great time we were having and how much we wish we could stay here longer! I will tell everyone to stay here if they are going to Siem Reap, it's the best!!!

One of the best stays of my life. The hotel was perfectly clean, room was big and very comfortable, with one of the best air-con I have ever found in any hotel including some 5 stars, and all possible toiletries provided. Very convenient location at 5 minutes walking from the busiest area, delicious and generous breakfast, excellent massages at the Spa, good recommendations and full staff availability to organize tours of temples. Service at both reception, restaurant and room was just amazing, with one of the kindest and helpful staff I have ever met - thank you all for the great experience! Great value for money, highly recommended.

I stayed for only 2 nights in a quick side trip to Cambodia to visit Angkor Wat during my Thailand trip. I was very impressed even before arriving to the hotel. Their email communication was so thorough and helpful to alleviate any concerns before your visit.
Once there, you are met with such a warm welcome and genuine desire for your comfort from all the staff. I was greeted by Rev (?), I wish I knew how to spell his name. He was the nicest guy who took me from and to the airport along with assisting with my luggage and checkin and everything! He did it all and always with a smile.
The gentlemen and ladies in the dining area were all the absolute sweetest also!
I booked a day tour of Angkor Wat through the hotel and they hooked me up with a personal tuk tuk driver and English speaking tour guide names Chhong who was absolutely the best guide! He was super knowledgeable and so very patient with me. I hurt my foot early on during the tour and he just allowed me to go at my own pace and would find the shortest ways for me to walk, sometimes even calling ahead to the tuk tuk driver to meet us at the closest point possible. His patience and wealth of knowledge were unsurpassed! He was also just an all around great person. Ask for Chhong to be your guide and you won’t regret it!
I also took advantage of the free Khmer massage at their wonderful spa. I had therapist Long, who was very good! Strong but not too strong as I asked her to go medium on me. After the massage, as my foot was killing me from the injury, dear Long helped massage in some medication into my ailing foot and basically gave me a mini foot massage. Just the sweetest.
And Miss Khemry (sp?) at the front desk was just the nicest person ever helping me with everything I needed.
Sorry for the long review but there are not enough words to express just how amazing the staff is at this hotel. They aren’t just nice, they are genuine which makes a huge difference.

There are no balancies at all. You are allowed to smoke anywhere ouside. Pool is on ground floor but no access from the rooms.
I didn’t stream but the kids used Netflix and we didn’t have WiFi issues
We arrived in the morning and could get the room around 10:00. As the staff is very friendly they will find a solution for you!
They let us a room until the afternoon the day we left also.
Hi there creamsoda - i haven't logged into trip advisor for a while and i apologise i did not respond to you query, but Pascal gave good advice to contact the hotel.
I'm not sure what time is check-in, but standard time is usually around 2pm. having said that, the hotel is so hospitable so I'm sure if the room is available, you would be able to go straight there. If not, they would be happy to store your bags while you go off and explore and return later to find your bags in the room!
