Lovely clean place and lovely staff. Very accomodating and excellent value :) has a really nice swimming pool with a bar and restaurant, and the rooms are spacious with very comfy beds and the bathrooms have lovely showers. Getting to siem reap town centre is also easy, tuk tuks are about $1.5 to the centre of town or a 25 minute walk if youd prefer. Highly recommend!
The staff are so lovely, really welcoming, helpful and knowledgable. The staff did all they can for us and more. Super clean and well looked after. Best customer service. Great value for price Really recommend as it is a lovely little oasis. Mel from the UK
We stayed at the GAR Hotel for 10 nights in January 2020. Here are our Top Ten reasons for being glad we did so. 1. It was away from the noise and traffic in and around the Pub Street/Town Centre. By Tuk Tuk the hotel was about 15 mins from the Airport and 5 mins to Pub Street. 2. The rooms are big, both in the bedroom and bathroom. The large double bed was quite comfortable. There was a suitable number of drawers, shelving, hanging space and a safe for all our 'stuff' plus a well stocked mini fridge and large bath. Rooms are serviced daily with fresh towels and 2 bottles of water. 3. An excellent Tuk Tuk service at 10 mins notice. We were fortunate to have Mr Sah-Rum as our driver for each of our 10 days. He drive very safely and how he drove confidently between many cars and other TTs, was - fun - to experience. He spoke some English and was always on time for our Pick-Ups and Returns for our excursions. For 5 nights he took us to Pub Street and picked us up there at 10 pm for our return to the hotel. 4. The pool. Clean and good for lap swimming and has a separate baby's pool. And the Amazon Pool Bar served drinks poolside! 5. The Breakfasts. All you can eat! No need for lunch! Quality Asian and Western food. Eg: Two omelets with everything each morning was a great start to my day. Plus fresh fruit, fruit salad and coffee. The restaurant is also a place to fill up you water bottles for the day. Dinner with drinks in the restaurant is reasonably priced. Cocktails eg: Long Island Tea, Singapore Sling both @ $2.50 each. Khmer Salad with crispy chicken @ $3.75. Obviously more expensive than the Street Food by the river in the Town centre. 6. 8 mins walk to PHARE-The Cambodian Circus and 5 mins by TT to the ART BOX. 7. There is a gym with a treadmill etc. 8. The excellent friendly service by all GAR staff, especially Mr Run, Restaurant Manager. Reception staff booked most of our excursions, eg: Angkor Dynasty, PHARE, Small & Big Temple Tours and everything worked as it should with the help of Mr Sah-Rum. The Hotel Manager Mr Ratana can be very proud of his staff. 9. There is no mosquito problem in the rooms or hotel area. 10. The internet connection was good. Suggestion: If staying for about a week or more write to Mr Ratana asking about Special Offers for Direct Booking guests. * The best room for easy access to the pool is Number 109. It is next to the centre stairwell and can be a bit noisy sometimes.…
Hotel is located a bit far from Siem Reap itself, which means if you want to eat anyplace but their restaurant, you must hire a tuk tuk. I booked after looking at reviews who gave restaurant high reviews. For Cambodia, meal prices are on the higher side, which would be OK if food was really good. I just ordered a club sandwich based on pictures in their menu. Sandwich I received was nothing like picture. Lettuce was old and started to brown, cheese was not real cheese, and it was 3 thick slices of bread, with very little between. Upsetting because this means I will need to be cabbing it into town for my meals.
We stayed 3 nights in the hotel and we were very happy about it! We really enjoyed the pool, which was in the opposite of our room. The staff was very friendly, especially Srey Somnag helped us a lot. She is very lovely. 😍 cheers!
