My sister and I had the absolute best time at the Grand Elysee La Residence! Our only regret is that we did not stay longer! I keep kicking myself for only spending 4 days here. Siem Reap is a once in a lifetime trip and we wish we had spent more time here. The location was perfect, the hotel was exceptionally clean and the staff were fantastic! Mr Kim in particular was very helpful and kind in ensuring our stay was comfortable and amazing! Would recommend staying here to anyone and everyone!!!
It is not really closed to pub street but we took Tuk Tuk costing 2-3$.
Before getting to Grand Elysee I was a bit skeptical, reading all the reviews. Now that I have stayed 11 nights there, I can only say this hotel is a hidden gem! The + that make all the difference: - Breakfast is very good - sometimes buffet, sometimes À la carte. - Almost everytime during breakfast, my room was being cleaned! This is such a luxury - The staff was very friendly and professional - especially Kim, Jessy and Cam (I hope Im not mispelling names?!) - No music around the pool: THANK YOU. All the other hotels I have done in Cambodia had music at the pool: so annoying. Grand Elysee definitely made the right decision. The little - : - The hotel had a few guests that could be loud in the corridor… sometimes before 9am and after 10pm - not the hotel’s fault, I guess it’s just cultural. - The neighborhood can be noisy sometimes: kids playing, parties/wedding. I called the front desk once (saturday at 10:15pm) just to ask if they knew if it would finish by midnight or not. They said they sent someone there, and 5 minutes later everything was quiet. Efficient. - Wifi is unstable (this should be fixed!) - so I got a SIM card from Smart. I could not recommend more Grand Elysee!…
A nice hotel but a million miles away from a five star one Pros: Large rooms Comfortable beds On a quiet street opposite a lovely little restaurant and down the road from a lovely cafe Cons Poor management Dark bathrooms Questionable cleaning The ground floor rooms open directly onto the pool and consequently have little privacy The lift was out of service so they put one of our party (74 years old) in a different room type as there were no more of the large rooms we had booked available on a lower floor. It was an old room no where near the same standard we had paid for so we requested she be moved to another room and were shown one 4 floors up - with no lift. We declined and were eventually shown a similar room on the same floor and told we would need to pay extra for it. Even though we had paid for a good room and not been given it! We were disturbed on 2 nights of our stay, once by a very loud party in the building next door and once by guests who had karaoke in their room until 3am. The night security did nothing and in the end we and another guest had to repeatedly knock on the offending rooms door until they stopped the noise. We should not have had to deal with this. We found the restaurant very overpriced and ate out instead Thankfully our booking agent was able to extricate us from the booking and we left several days early…
Nice personnel. Nice swimming pool. The rooms are decent. The break fast is poor. Available a la carte, you can chose between some menus with small portions. Had to go to the town to eat breakfast. No minibar. TV not working. AC very dirty. No late check out policies. Even though the hotel was empty they did not let us keep at least one room for a couple of hours. They wanted us to pay a full day charge for 2 hours.. For sure you can find better options in the town for the same prices, as the hotel is rated a 5 star hotel but looks more like a 3 star hotel.
We stayed here for 3 nights, had a room with balcony overlooking the pool. The bed was SO comfy, the hotel is ideally located for a short walk to Pub street and the night market. Or you get get a $2 tuktuk. The staff are SO accommodating and friendly and with a good sense of humour too. Kim, Jessica Brown, Cam and all other staff - they couldn't do enough for us. Affordable hotel with great service.
We had a fantastic time at the hotel. The reception manager Mr Kim was so welcoming and helpful. He went out of his way to help us find the right restaurants, upgrade our room and took care of the smallest of things. We would recommend a stay here to everyone and do meet Mr Kim.
We were at this hotel for 6 nights through our entire stay in Siem Reap. The room was spacious and clean, staffs were very polite and affable. Particularly Kim and Jessica, thank you for taking care of us! Thank you for always going the extra mile to ensure we’re comfortable and helping us to find out information we wanted to know but have challenges due to the language barrier. You guys are one of the main reason why Siem Reap will always be fond in our hearts.
The staff were fantastic, big shout out to Jessie, Nunu and Kim at the front desk and Rieng in the cafe/restaurant, they made our stay so pleasant and relaxing, and we felt very much at home. Staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. Cleanliness is a strong point in the hotel/room. Room is big and comfortable and bathroom was nice. Hotel is located in a quiet area but only a short tuk-tuk ride to the town centre. Enjoyed swimming in the pool and then having breakfast at the cafe every morning. Will definitely stay here if we're in Siem Reap again.
A big thank you to Jessie, Nunu and Kim for making our stay in Siem Reap a very pleasant and memorable one. Nothing is too much to ask. Request is promptly attended to. The room is clean and spacious. The pool is very inviting especially after a long walk under the scorching sun. "The Muffin Man" café nearby serves delicious muffins, toasties and cheesecakes. The coffee is simply irresistible. The hotel offers excursions at competitive prices. I would have saved a lot of planning time if I knew that. They arranged our transport to the temple when we decided to visit it again. We are highly satisfied with their service. There is always a tuk tuk on standby to bring us wherever we want. It is safe and reliable. Once again, a big thank you to your amazing team.
