Authentic Khmer Village is a hidden tropical paradise. The grounds are beautiful with flowers, greenery and water features throughout. The covered open air restaurant is surrounded by a generous swimming pool on three sides. Nestled behind the restaurant is a stilted villa for massages that sits in a Lilly pond. It’s just gorgeous and getting a 60 minute massage with essential oils after a long day of sightseeing was spectacular (only $26 USD). We were kindly upgraded to a 2 bedroom villa with a private pool. We enjoyed some much needed relaxation on our patio and took most of our meals there as well. The villas are nicely decorated and quite comfortable. The restaurant served both local and international dishes. The salmon was particularly good. Breakfast was included with our room and provided a nice selection. The staff were the icing on the cake for this hotel. They went above and beyond at every turn to make our stay enjoyable and treated us like royalty. They arranged tuktuks and made suggestions of places to visit after we exhausted our Angkor Wat explorations. Finally, the receptionist came with us on our final day to help us get our COVID tests (needed for entry for our next destination) and then returned and picked the results up for us so we could enjoy our last morning poolside. I 100% recommend this hotel and hope to stay again in the future.

As a solo female traveler, my stay at Authentic Khmer Village Resort was a rejuvenating and secure experience. The room, complete with a private pool, provided a luxurious retreat, allowing for complete relaxation. I appreciated the absence of TVs, which encouraged me to disconnect and unwind. The staff's exceptional customer service made me feel welcomed and well-cared for, and the mobile phone provided was incredibly convenient for staying connected and arranging tours.

Looking for a traditional Khmer lodging experience but with a touch of luxury? Book Authentic Khmer Resort. The property is adorned with trees, ponds, and pools—a luxurious jungle in the city with an accommodating staff to boot. The property has two beautiful refreshing pools, but spring for a villa with a private pool to take a dip whenever you wish. Despite the traditional motif, the rooms are well furnished with all the necessary amenities to make for an exceptionally comfortable stay. Treat yourself and book a stay at Authentic Khmer Resort.

The resort's serene atmosphere and stunning traditional Khmer architecture were highlights, offering a peaceful escape from the bustling city. However, the limited menu options left me wanting more variety, and the very dark pathways after hours posed a challenge when I had early morning tours. Despite these minor inconveniences, the beauty and tranquility of the property made my stay worthwhile. I highly recommend this resort for solo travelers seeking a blend of luxury and authenticity in Siem Reap.

Everything is simply perfect at the Khmer Village...Wherever you look, there is beauty and care. The room was amazing, with private jacuzzi on the terrace surrounded by a wonderful lush vegetation and details of khmer culture in furniture and syle. There is a SPA area where you can get massage, in the middle of a small lake full of lotus flowers. The restaurant where we had breakfast is framed with a salted water surface swimming pool and all day you can hear the buddhist monks praying in the monastery closeby. The french owner and his staff have been very welcoming and created a place with a unique atmosphere that we will not easily forget.

A very disappointing experience. We booked the room with jacuzzi hoping for a day of relaxation but the water was extremely cold making the jacuzzi unusable. We complained immediately and the staff were very vague about the solution, after an hour of waiting we insisted to speak with the hotel manager who told us the temperature couldn’t be changed and she said it was a known issue other customers complained about previously. They didn’t have another room available so we asked for a discount/ return of money and were offered a refund of 80% if we don’t leave a negative review which we agreed to. We went straight to the swimming pool after the conversation as we lost time trying to solve the jacuzzi issue and shortly after we were approached by the other hotel manager and his staff while in the pool who informed us that the expectation was for us to leave the hotel now. There was no apology for the poor experience we had so far and the miscommunication (the other hotel manager who made a refund offer never said that we had to leave and we told her our preference was to stay as we didn’t want the hassle of moving on Boxing Day. I still don’t understand why she didn’t offer a discount that worked for both the hotel & us but instead expecting us to leave only with 80% of our money after waiting around unnecessarily to get a solution for a problem that can’t be fixed). Also it was very unprofessional to approach us in the middle of swimming in front of other guests and not to wait a short while until we are out again and fully dressed. I felt extremely uncomfortable to have a long discussion with 2 men overlooking me whilst in a not very warm pool in a bikini. When I asked to please discuss it after we come out of pool and get dressed we were told in an abrupt way by the hotel manager that we had 5min to get out - very patronising. I can’t describe how uncomfortable I felt in the hotel after this experience so I didn’t want to find a solution but I just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible even it meant finding a new place last minute during Christmas.

I give this hotel a 1 star rating as it’s by far the worst customer experience I had in my life (and I travel often and probably never left negative reviews before). If this would have not happened I probably would still only give it a 6 or 7 because the room was dark, the wood of houses outdated, the walkway needed maintenance (not a very luxurious appearance) and the staff seemed inexperienced (I was told three times within 5min about their policies of being quiet which just felt too much). The pool, bar and greenery were nice but overall not quite the standard I would expect for a 5 star resort. You can get a truly luxurious place with genuine Cambodian hospitality (rather than a place run by European management who don’t have the same customer service) for less money and in a better location - Siem Reap is full of nice hotels, I don’t recommend to stay in the Khmer authentic village resort.

Dear Margaret Greeting from Authentic Khmer Village Resort! Thank you for your review and feedback. There was a confusion about the refund of the room when you expressed your dissatisfaction about the jaccuzi temperature. You had a total refund of your room 100% and we apologize again for any inconvenience this caused you. I will be sure to pass your feedback on and we’ll work on improving our to meet your expectations in the future. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to leave us a review! One of the worst thing you can do to customers is lying to them. It was confusing with booking. Didn’t make clear. Booked a villa with 2 bedrooms and end up getting 2 villas with 2 bedrooms. Found out when checking in and non refundable. Front desk said he’ll look into it and see what he can do. Customer service said I need to cancel that reservation in order to clarify I don’t need the room and easier to deal with refund if possible. 2 days into stay, got words from them that owner ok to give me back 50%. I can get the refund back to my card and or deduct the restaurant bills. On last day, my sister came to meet me for dinner. I told them they should just stay the night and see angler wat in morning. Told them to come check my hotel and ask them if they like it if any rooms avail. They charge them for the room that I paid for already, and then when I checked out, they said for me to pay for the bills from restaurant separate and that the owner will refund the 50% separately to make it easy. Never got the refund and they are not responding.

I hate supporting places that lies and do this to their guests.this breaks my heart as I’m Khmer and I want so much for my people.

On a side note here’s the pro and cons if you still choose to stay here. Kinda hard to find. And google map will direct you into wrong entrance. The place is build aside the sewage canal. The place is nice when you get in. All that green however are grown in swamp water. Mosquitoes mosquitoes mosquitoes!!!! You would think that they would have mosquito nets in each room, But this is not the case. All the boardwalk planks are old and you will trip if you space out and not mind your steps. Extremely poor plumbing, and our toilet keeps unclogging. The food is expensive but not good. It’s not so bad where you can’t eat it but definitely catered to foreign travelers unfamiliar with good Khmer food

Delightful tranquil setting sitting over water with lush greenery surrounding each bungalow and central restaurant with wrap around pool on three sides.
The staff were so kind upgrading our party of seven to bungalows in a quieter setting than originally allocated due to a loud three night wedding close by. At the new location we heard no loud music and peace reigned supreme.
The restaurant as mentioned in in the heart of the resort where the breakfast was welcome and lunch/dinner was a good cross of western and Khmer food. The staff were so polite and attentive, even feeding us as we rushed out the resort for a very early morning Angkor Wat visit.
The massages were good and welcome after flight from Vietnam.
We would like to thank all the staff fir their kindness and attention during our 5 night stay.

We booked this hotel for the experience. We did not want to stay in a regular hotel, we wanted something unique that gave us more of an authentic Cambodian experience. The Khmer Village Resort delivered on all our expectations. All the rooms are surrounded by water, to get to your room and throughout the resort, you are walking on an elevated path above the water.

Everything was excellent. The staff is wonderful. They offer massages on an island surrounded by a lily pond. The restaurant is great. And finally, our 2 bedroom private villa was a great place to relax. It even came with our own private pool.

My photos speak for themselves.

I highly recommend this resort. It's a truly unique experience.

This hotel was well located a short tuk-tuk ride from the centre of town. Located down a short lane the resort is a tranquil jungle hideaway. We stayed in the coconut bungalow and found it spacious and well appointed overlooking a Lilly pond. The private pool was fantastic after a hot day at Angkor Wat. The main pool was also good for a resort of this size.

If being highly critical I would say that this resort is a little tired with some loose boards on the walk ways and the thatch was missing from some of the roofs. While this may be authentic for Cambodia it needs a bit of work and to be fair this appeared to be in progress.

As it was low season during our visit we were informed that the breakfast would be pre-ordered the day before. This made sense given how quiet it was and the breakfast choices were acceptable although a buffet would have been nice. They did prepare us a packed breakfast for our sunrise trip to Angkor Wat.

Slightly unusual in our experience there was a sign in the room stating that "no outside food and drink was allowed to be consumed". We abided by the house rules but were somewhat surprised one night after stopping for some water and snacks at the local supermarket to take out with us to the temples. We carried the shopping in a supermarket bag and were challenged by the staff at the front desk as to what we had been buying. This was somewhat out of character as the staff were largely friendly

A beautiful property gives and impression of a village, only problem, the air-conditioners in the old rooms are virtually non-functional. Siam Reap is very hot and the room size is quite large. The rooms should be filled with at least 2 Ton capacity AC instead they are of 1 Ton consequently the room doesn't cool. The weather is also very sultry adding to the suffocation. Management should change the ACS asap.

Our first stay at Authentic Khmer Village, and we had a real crush, this place is sumptuous, the details in term of decoration are breathtaking, really authentic and nicely done. Our bungalow was close to the super pool and to the breakfast area, super convenient. The best part is the staff, super nice with us. A really good surprise!
