This was the first time my husband and I have stayed in a bed and breakfast. This was the best experience we have ever had. We stayed in Suite #15 which is in the back of the property. We just stayed this weekend and they had decorated for Christmas beautifully. The suite was charming. Very spacious with a living area with 2 chairs, electric fireplace and flat screen tv. The bedroom was beautifully done Victorian style with a king bed. The bathroom was very spacious with a large tub and shower combo (tub is very deep). We tried to get Historic Smithville from but they were sold out and I found this on line. I was very glad Smithville was sold out because we found a gem. The weather was pretty cold and after the day of shopping and seeing the light show at Smithville, came back to enjoy the room. At the main house, they had snacks and drinks which I felt was a very nice touch. Everything was extremely clean and cared for. They had breakfast in the morning with oatmeal, fruit and yogurt, eggs with cheese and French toast apple crumble. They has coffee and tea and juices. I was thoroughly impressed with this b&b and have already booked this for the spring. The people taking take of this place are wonderful and lovely to speak with and very accommodating. They lifted my spirits up. I am partially handicap and got around great. Can’t wait until the late spring!…
The bed and breakfast is located just a few miles south of Smithville. The hotel is really nice and romantic. However, we were a little disappointed in a few things. The gas fireplace turned out to be electric. The room was located on a busy road and the noise from the cars kept us awake most of the night. Next time we get a back room away from the highway. Breakfast was OK, but they they ran out of stuff earlier than expected.
Stayed here to go to a concert in AC. The owner was really nice, My room was on the top floor. As others have said, there is road noise, but a little noise machine or app on the phone would cover that up. But the location is perfect for going to Smithville or AC, both are super close. The breakfast was quite good. Would definitely stay there again if going into AC for any reason!
We stayed here last weekend in the Lighthouse Room. It was a two story accommodation, with a sitting room on the first floor. Upstairs was alarge bedroom and new bathroom. The rooms were charming and so comfortable. The whole place is beautiful. The gardens are amazing! We spent time sitting on the porch and the atmosphere was lovely. Paula was charmng! We look forward to returning.
We stayed in Room 5, a 2 story suite in the main house. Beautifully decorated and extremely clean and well maintained. The gardens are lovingly tended, filled with charming garden pottery. The breakfasts were delicious with fresh fruit, waffles and banana/chocolate bread. We had freshmade quiche and an egg, ham & cheese casserole. The chefs, Laurie and Linda, were delightful and full of interesting travel stories. We will definitely recommend the bed and breakfast to our friends.
Second trip to the Pitney house. With COVID. C it wasn’t full but we still enjoyed the same hospitality and awesomely delicious breakfast we experienced the first time last year. Third floor room was very spacious and the electric fireplace added the romantic ambience ... it was Halloween night and the full moon above the Pitney house was Valero romantic Rather stay here than stuffy AC hotels. You will NOT be disappointed D & G
We stayed there for 2 nights. Clean, excellent customer service. Staff friendly and accommodating. Great breakfast. We stayed in room #11. Well maintained property. I would recommend this property for a nice get a way.
My husband surprised me with a weekend at the Jonathan Pitney house for my birthday in September 2016. We stayed in Room #12 which is on the second floor of the Carriage House. The room itself is so peaceful and beautifully decorated with a rich dark shade of green and floral prints adorning the walls. The bathroom is luxurious and has a nice deep soaker tub - big enough for two people if they're small. ;) The true gem of this are the people at the JP house. The innkeepers are literally the kindest people and they love talking to you and learning about your story - but are also respectful if you want to have private time. The breakfasts were amazing and homecooked every morning. There was also coffee, tea, water, fruit, and snacks always available while we were there. With the proximity of the JP house to Atlantic City and the beaches, it's 100% the best place to go for a couple's retreat.…
This B&B is beautiful and so well run from very nice people. We stayed in room #9 which has a separate entrance but is attached to the main building. This is nice because we had our privacy, but could just run next door for breakfast! Our room was two floors with the main floor having a TV, two chairs and a table for meals. Upstairs was our bedroom and bathroom, all renovated and just beautiful. The grounds are beautifully manicured with many local vintage items along with reclaimed items from the original buildings. We met the dad who did all of the renovations and his daughter who runs the B&B, both could not have been more lovely and had conversations as you wanted them. Breakfast was made to order with any changes that you could want. It was a lovely romantic getaway nearby to Smithville and Atlantic City.. I highly recommend and will return!!…
