I recently spent 2 nights at Bakwena and it was worth every penny spent. The service was just unbelievable from the day I first made the booking with Terry to the reception received from Cathy and Tshiamo on the day of arrival. Regardless of who...More

Chobe Bakwena was our first stop in Botswana last month and hubby and I loved every second of it! We stayed 5 nights which is apparently unusual with most people just staying 2 or 3, but I'm so glad we did. Any less than 5...More
We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful lodge. The rooms were lovely - we had a treetop room for our first two nights, then a riverfront room for the third (I actually preferred the former, which had a large veranda with comfortable couches). OP...More

We did the bike tour in February when we stayed at Bakwena Lodge. We went out at about 1.30 pm, after lunch, and the bike ride there only took about 20 minutes, accompanied by one of the staff from the Lodge as our guide. It does involve part of the route along a fairly busy road, joining the flow of traffic all going to the ferry crossing point - quite a few big lorries. Our guide pointed out where each of the 4 counties were, but there are no flags or other visible signs of the country borders. The whole trip took about an hour.
Another afternoon we did a walking tour of the local village with a guide, which gave a real insight into the way of life of the local people and I think I preferred that activity to the bike ride.
Bakwena Lodge is a wonderful base for visiting Chobe national park, with all guests given a great welcome and excellent service by the staff there.
