Dear tourist, hostel "Las Olas" is placed on a hill side over looking lake Titicaca. From any of the seven suites you have a marvellous view over the bay and the lake. You have spacious gardens with hammocks and deck chairs on the different terraces leading down the hill side. On our grounds you can use a fire place and we have several stone tables and benches to eat outside to enjoy the views. For those who love plants and flowers, you will find an enormous variety of predominantly local species. All suites have been individually designed, using as many natural and local materials as possible and respecting traditional ways of construction. They provide a maximum comfort and you will find many artistic details for the eye. From your living room area, from your bed and almost from any point of your room you have a perfect view of the lake through the huge window fronts. Each suite is provided with a small kitchen unit, private bath an inside hammock and a fireplace. There is also a little electric heater for your use We do a big effort to work very ecological. The cabins are built with a complete heat insulation of polystyrene inside the roof, as well as in the walls below the facade. We preheat the water with big solar panels and than feed it into the electric boiler to guarantee very hot water 24 hours a day. We recycle all our washing machine water with an automatic sprinkler to wet our extensive gardens, and we also collect any plastic or glass bottle left behind to be recycled.

We really enjoyed our 2 nights at Las Olas. The room was great, very well appointed, including coffee, sugar and a kettle (something we didn't find often in S. America). The place was in a good location, short walk to the water and the main...More
Fantastic hostel with unique little apartment houses and charming and accommodating staff. The term hostel doesn't give justice to the quality and cleanliness of the accommodation. We had apartment 7 which was beautiful, with a fire place and sweeping views. Best of all, it is...More
Stunning and unusual architecture for this unique hostel. Amazingly well equipped, stunning views, friendly staff, great furniture in rooms including a circular bed beautiful colours...wow. very impressive.
I try to stay clear from using superlatives in my reviews but this place deserves them all:
- excellent service, top location, great views
- fun rooms which are super well equiped and the fantastic design does not stand in the way of convenience
- booked here after a personal recommendation from a friend who stayed here 5 years ago
- the rooms have their own individual style and design - such quirky innovative designs and appearance of the rooms - colourful, unusual shapes of rooms

hi, it is a beautiful hotel, ask for suite number 5, large and nice room with lake view, you can email to hotel las olas directly and ask to Juan, a very helpful man, no problem with him, to book a room it is better to prepay with western union, Juan will give you the name to give to western union for the payment, no problem, i did this in july 2015 : all was OK, no problems, and just close to the hotel you have a restaurant to have breakfast and diner ( the "fondue à la truite" : fish "trout fondue" : is very good ), i can recommand both the hotel olas and the restaurant : very good, have a nice trip in Copacabana,
and at La Paz airport : ask to have your name written on a paper 21cmx29cm : usual and easy way to meet you at the arrival door airport,
good trip in Bolivia and Pèru, Oliver from France
