We recently rented the Crystal Saloon for an event. The Event Manager "appeared" to have everything very organized and coordinated however during the time of the event-we could not have been more disappointed. The staff was not on point with replenishing the jugs of refreshments on the table. The HOUSE DJ was absolutely horrendous!!!!! Do not go with the house DJ!!!!!!! In addition, the DJ was taking pictures of a private event which was extremely unprofessional. Lastly, be extremely careful when reviewing the costs as we were over charged by $2K! Level of service and professionalism as well as the integrity of the entire event manager and staff is definitely not acceptable to the general standard.

I have stayed a couple of time in this hotel for business reasons and everytime there was something wrong, the first time, the windows had no curtains so everybody outside could see inside my room plus the light from the hallway bothered me when I tried to sleep and the second time the internet didn't work at all, my room didn't have toilet paper nor shampoo, etc.

The restaurant food is really good as well as the breakfast. But in general this hotel needs a lot of things to improve.. For me this could be a 3 star hotel not a 5 star...

Our room at La Colonia was very spacious as well as quiet. Bathroom was up to snuff. Some items were in disrepair. Some lights did not turn on, the curtain was not intact. The restaurant and breakfasts were very good. Service was pleasant and effective. La Colonia has quite spacious grounds and first floor. Its amenities were worth the cost of a taxi ( 15 pesos) from the center in my opinion. We spent five nights there, and were very satisfied. The billing was a little confused, but we worked it out. I would return there when in Cochabamba

Located in the northern parts of Cochabamba, a bit up the city. So you'll have a nice view over the city.
Modernized in 2005 the hotel offers all facilities (conference rooms, pool, garden, restaurants etc.) and spacious rooms. Friendly staff, very clan and quiet.
So if you want to be a bit away from the busy city center its a perfect place to stay.

Away from downtown's craziness, but still, not far from the civilization, hah!
The facilities of the hotel include a small outdoors swimming pool that should use heating system, sauna, spa and Bolivian food restaurant.

The rooms are comfortable and if you get the ones with a view, even better! Service people are nice and helpful.

Breakfast is nice, not a lot of variety, pretty basic but right what you need.

I would recommend for a weekend getaway.

I stayed 4 nights, everything was wrong. Dirty rooms, electrical problems in the rooms, bad smell from the toilets and worst of all, my clothes that were left in the room were stolen and the personal is not capable of solving any kind of problem.

the surroundings are ugly, the hotel has a acceptable lobby, the rooms are awful with no windows. Everything is decadent, not quite clean. At 4 am the maintenance uses some kind of insect killing substance that makes it impossible to keep sleeping. The bell man is often cleaning the entrance or doing something that keeps them to help with your bags. Poor internet and poor service.

We have stayed at La Colonia three times. It has a very pleasant atmosphere. Clean and quiet. Good morning buffet where it is easy to linger over coffee and visit with friends. Very good quality food at the restaurant. Nice local ambience and decorations. We highly recommend this hotel. Great wifi. Worked very well. No trouble sending large photos etc.

Our experience in this hotel could not have been worse. The pictures on the website could not have been more misleading. We were placed in the building next to the nice part of the hotel where the halls were open to the weather. The beds were like sleeping on stones-no joke. I have slept better on the ground. Lights were without bulbs, my bathroom window (no covering) looked out on a hallway! One of our rooms lost all electricity and they had no flashlights and could not move the guests to another room. Management was surly and the staff beaten down. We stayed there over two years ago and I am still mad. Never, ever consider this property under any circumstances! We had to move after one night!

I was here for a business trip for approximately 8 days, and stayed at the Hotel La Colonia for the entire trip. The hotel is equipped with a convention/banquet hall, restaurant, and hotel. There was complimentary continental breakfast, and an omelette station which was extremely delicious. Dinner at the restaurant was good too, although service was quite slow. The ambiance of the hotel was quaint. However, the location is a bit far from the city centre, although you can hail a taxi easily from the hotel at an affordable price.

Depending on the room you get, the view of Cochabamba can be very good. However, the room I got only had windows that viewed the room across from me. There was also a frosted window in my bathroom, which I thought wasn't the best place for a window. The bathroom was also well equipped with a powerful shower faucet; however, the sink was simply built on top of a hallow concrete slab. There was a side hose that also dripped in the washroom (couldn't shut off the water valve), but I simply kept a towel beneath the hose to capture the water.

The room, however, was spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable. There was cable TV and wifi. The room and hotel was extremely luxurious in Bolivian standards, and I enjoyed my stay there. Just bring ear plugs in case if there is a party happening in the banquet hall - the music can be heard throughout the hotel into the wee hours of the morning. :)
