Stayed here on a Wednesday night to start our Junk Jaunt 2019. Friendly check in. Room was huge. Wifi worked great. Comfy bed. Very clean and quiet. All for a reasonable price. Would stay again! One tip: if you book through their website, it doesn't require credit card. Probably a good idea and call them with it to make sure you have a room!
We couldn't believe this motel is 12 years old. It appears to be maybe 2 years old. Room was large, comfortable with table and chairs, and only detriment was old fashioned TV, but great cable service. Morning continental breakfast was basic. Very nice place and friendly too!
This hotel is what all small town hotels should be like. Clean, affordable, friendly, well kept and clean. This is my first review and I'm leaving it because of how impressed I was. Ive stayed in my share of small town hotels and this is probably my second favorite ever, favorite gave you hot Rolls delivered in the morning so the bar is set pretty high. If your needing to overnight in nowheres Nebraska stop here or push on till you get here.
Found it on the web and booked based on driving time. Arrived and the place was spotlessly clean. Very comfortable and T shaped to the highway so you don't hear rhe traffic all night. Not fancy but clean and comfortable.
My adult son and I stayed here for a one-night stop-over during his coast-to-coast bicycle tour. Given that this is a pretty small property in a small town, we weren't sure what to expect, and were very pleasantly surprised. Our double queen room, #127, was newly remodeled in soothing shades. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom featured nice large, thick towels. Free internet was easy to access and worked great. Unlike other single-story motels we've experienced, the Sand Hills Guest House has an interior corridor, which I always prefer. We really appreciated the convenience of being able to wheel his bike and trailer into the room, which was large enough to accommodate everything without being crowded. When I asked a housekeeping staff member a question about the thermostat / AC, she explained how it worked and assured me that she would take care of any issues (there were none - just user error on my part!). The biggest plus, though, was the front desk clerk - I didn't get her name, but I'm pretty sure she was the manager (owner?). She was very friendly and welcoming, and helpful with questions about the area. What was really outstanding, though, was her response to a mishap in the room: a can of bear spray accidentally deployed inside a rubber, waterproof gear bag. While the liquid - thank heavens! - remained confined inside the bag, the air in the room got a good blast before my son was able to rush the bag outside. When I explained to her what had happened, she repeatedly told me not to worry, and that this would give her the chance to try out the new commercial-grade air purifier she had just purchased. If you are looking for lodging in Atkinson, this is the place to stay!…
