Detailed Reviews
Came here from Philipsburg to have dinner and it was AMAZING! Fresh hand pressed beef patties and delicious fries. One of the best bloody Mary’s I’ve had and the service was wonderful. The bartender was top notch. We dined in the bar and would definitely come back again. If you love yourself some ranch like I do then you’ll love theirs. A++++ and beautiful outdoor patio seating.

Our group of five women, used to very good restaurant food, was very pleasantly surprised by the crisp freshness of our clams, prime rib sandwiches, chicken salad and prawns. Sauces were tasty, dressings were homemade, and drinks and service were hearty and pleasant. We will return, Libby! 😘

We came from Philipsburg on a recommendation from the owner of our hotel.
We sat at the bar and Kerri took very good care of us.
We had a great loaded baked potato soup, the salad bar (very nice selection and everything was very fresh,) fish and chips and it was good, but in the middle of Montana you have to have a Bison Burger; it was awesome! I added swiss and Jalapenos to it.
It was not busy at all and we got talking to a local couple, who gave us some tips to drive around Georgetown Lake.
Yes, we would stop again!

We really thought it would be worthwhile to stop in and have dinner and drinks, because of people telling us about it. What a mistake. The bar service was lousy, the bartender seemed more interested in socializing at the bar than serving us, and the food, when it finally got there, was horrid. The steaks were overcooked to the point of being petrified, and the potatoes were basic mush. In the interim, the owner, or so we were told, was pacing between the dining room and the bar in some sort of frenzy, the entire experience was something that was both unfriendly, confusion-laden, and I have no wish to do it again. I do not recommend this place at all.

We chose to eat dinner here after a trip up to Storm Lake because the family wanted to try it and I had a decent meal once here before. It wasn't super busy but our food took way longer than it should have and when it did get to our table, our orders were all messed up. When the waitress brought it back to the kitchen you could hear them being rude to each other over who's fault it was. You could here them loudly through the ticket window and it made for a really awful experience. I had a meal once earlier in the year and sat on the bar side and things went well, but after our last trip, I'll give it time before returning.

Beware! My husband and I were attending a wedding and last minute decided to stay at the Lakehouse. I grew up in the area and wasn’t expecting much but this has been ridiculous. It was a cold late Sept night, and we arrived at the room around 9pm(before we headed into town). We turned on the ancient old propane furnace and left. The room was warm when we left. At 2am we arrived back and it was freezing. The furnace was hissing gas but it wouldn’t ignite. Couldn’t turn it off (valves were so old) so we had to open the room up and freeze so we didn’t die from carbon monoxide. The staff was helpful but always made excuses for the owner. The owner refused my refund but after numerous phone calls she had said they were refunding me. 5 months later and many more ignored calls- no refund or communication from the owner! I recommend that not only don’t stay here, but avoid it all around! AVOID at all costs! The rooms are pigs with lipstick. Look pleasant enough but no guarantees

Response from Jim Pederson, Owner at The Lakehouse At Georgetown Lake
Responded Feb 7, 2024
Hi Wendy, -We apologize for your uncomfortable stay at the Lakehouse. We can assure you that there were no gas leaks, and you were never in danger. When a pilot light goes out in a gas appliance- it’s thermocouple senses this- and prevents any gas from escaping. Feel free to verify this with any HVAC company. -You may not be aware, The Lakehouse is required to- and does undergo regular inspections by the Fire Marshal, Health Department, etc… The furnace has passed, and continues to pass those inspections. -While you were obviously disappointed in your stay- so were we. You didn’t follow the rules, you didn’t follow our written policies. -It’s disappointing that even though you rented a Non-Smoking room- the room smelled of a LOT of burnt marijuana. Just speculating here, but is it possible the “hissing gas” sound YOU perceived was related to your consumption of weed? No one who rented that room before or after you has had a similar experience. We don’t care what you do on your own time- but a specified Non-Smoking room is supposed to be a Non-Smoking room. -It's also disappointing that you chose to take one of our pillows. -Most importantly- we think it’s very disingenuous to give us a 1 star rating- yet omit your own misconduct. This includes your portion of the delays while we tried to either get our pillow back from you- or waiting for you to decide for us to take it out of your refund. ----We have plenty of satisfied customers, and rarely receive a LEGITIMATE low rating. That’s why its always important to consider the source… -Long story short- we did refund your money, minus the cost of the pillow. -Now, all we ask is that if you ever stay at Georgetown Lake- please arrange for accommodations at a different place. Thanks, Jimmy and Angie

My husband, a couple of friends, and I all met at The Lakehouse for dinner just before Christmas. The food was very good - especially the prime rib dip sandwich, and the steaks were huge and quite flavorful. One of our friends was not too hungry, so ordered a plain hamburger - even it was terrific!!
The service was excellent. The bartender made my hard to please martini-drinking husband one of the best he's had in a good long while. This is definitely the place to stop if you're near Georgetown Lake. Casual dress and great food/prices.
(didn't stay at the hotel, so no comment about it)

Great menu - I arrived too early unfortunately for the Prime Rib which is served after 5pm but the steak I had was tasty and huge! Also, it was cooked exactly as I asked (rare) which I find to be a 'rareity ' in the US. Attentive service and good salad bar too. All in all recommended!

It's a few hour drive from the Bitterroot Valley to generally a great little restaurant with some good food. However, nearly all our meals were mediocre of poor. the halibut fish and chips looked like 3 slightly larger fish sticks, dry and thin!
Waitress was pleasant and attentive and courteous. Atmosphere was ok.
