Detailed Reviews
My husband and I have been to a lot of B & B’s over the years. We’ve never had a bad experience, but naturally do a mental ranking of them. The Lindenhof in Augusta, MO is at the very top of out list. It is an historical B&B, that is beautifully decorated with a wonderful sitting area inside and a lovely courtyard outside with a fireplace for either side depending on the weather. There was a hot tub that was tucked in to a cute outbuilding that was heavenly on our sore muscles! Kathy greeted us with homemade cookies, assorted breads, fruit, tea, soda and ice water. The rooms were beautifully arranged and the bed was heavenly. This was especially important because we had just come off of the Katy trail and were about 180 miles in at this point. The breakfast was delicious. We had homemade shirred eggs, sausage, baked plums with almonds and yogurt, and pastries. It was a perfect breakfast for preparing us for the long ride ahead. Kathy was an absolute wonderful host. Everything was immaculate and wonderful.

Kathy runs the best bed and breakfast I have ever stayed at. Her property is absolutely gorgeous with beautiful rooms, a hot tub, a small garden and patio, and the best breakfast available in that area. We arrived after biking 40 miles on the Katy trail and were really early, but Kathy was ready for us and helped us wash the mud off and showed us to our very clean and well-decorated room. She had baked goods and snacks for us as well as coffee, soda, and much appreciated cold water.
Breakfast the next morning was truly a luxurious affair. Blueberry pancakes that melted in your mouth, fruit and candied nuts, and the best bacon you've ever had. When we checked in, Kathy asked if we had any food allergies or restrictions, so it is clear that she can handle dietary restrictions. The bed was super comfortable as well. We can't wait to stay at Lindenhof again.

Our room with a private bathroom was large, clean, and comfortable, and the Artist theme was well done with decorations on the walls and literature in the room. The breakfast was hot out of the kitchen and filling and all of that is what you hope for in a B&B.
The bonuses for us were Kathy's hospitality including availability at the right times while letting guests have a great sense of home. On top of all of that, the neighborhood was so peaceful we were able to sleep with the windows open and enjoy a completely quiet night of rest.
We'll be back!

We would like to give our host Kathy Murphy a gold medal! My wife and I rolled up off the Katy trail and were put at ease and made to feel like family from the first moment. Kathy helped get our bikes secured and then gave us a detailed welcome & orientation including yummy freshly baked treats. Our suite was beautifully appointed and fit for royalty! The towels were absolutely plush and soft and the bedding was equally over the top luxurious! The common rooms in the house and the outdoor areas were a retreat in themselves. The breakfast that Kathy prepared was 5 stars! Fresh juice and coffee and two course breakfast that could only be described as gourmet!! Kathy graciously accommodated our request for a vegetarian meal.
Kathy had also arranged a massage for my wife which was done in a separate massage room on the premises and was extremely professional and a fantastic help for sore muscles after several days of bicycle riding. The massage prices were quite reasonable. My wife raved about it!
We walked everywhere in tiny Augusta. The Lindenhof is prefectly located in the heart of everything. Do yourself a favor and stay here if you can. According to our Katy trail plan we only stayed her one night but we want to return and stay for several nights just to relax!
There is something very special at the Lindenhof and it goes beyond just the lovely property and outstanding amenities. Kathy loves taking care of her guests and she deserves a gold medal!

We just had the best stay at Lindenhof B&B. Everything was absolutely perfect! We stayed in the Harmonie room and it was so comfy and cozy, and we LOVED the big jetted tub and the heated tiles were such a luxury. Already trying to convince my husband we need both at home 😂 We even got a chance to sit in the outdoor hot tub which was wonderful and relaxing on a chilly, snowy night. The breakfast the next morning was so so so delicious and amazing! And last but not least, Kathy was such an outstanding host. She went above and beyond, was so very nice and personable. And when we experienced some car problems the next morning she was so kind to try and reach out to her local friends to see if anyone can help us out, and even offered to follow us back into town to make sure we made it ok. Thank you so much for the lovely stay Kathy, we will definitely be back!

We stayed at the Lindenhof Bed and Breakfast in Augusta, Missouri, one weekend in early August to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. Kathy, the hostess, was very informative of local wineries, their hours of operation and food menus. Her property is beautiful, inside and outdoors. The house has been lovingly restored and offered a great deal of peace and comfort on a weekend when the weather was very hot. The breakfast on Sunday morning was outstanding! I am gluten free and she accommodated my special food needs without a fuss. Everyone at the B & B agreed that we needed to book a return trip.

B & B was charmingly decorated throughout, had very comfortable main rooms and bedrooms, relaxing hot tub (covered and private) and jacuzzi, its owner is friendly, positive, and informative about events and wineries. The breakfasts were amazingly presented and delicious. Kathy made sure those who were gluten-free had a delicious meal, as well. Two wineries are a short walk and a shuttle stops nearby for other wineries in the area. A variety of magazines were available to peruse. There is a Keurig with tea, coffee, and hot cocoa 24 hours a day along with a small fridge with water, lemonade, and other drinks and glasses/mugs. There is a small store across the street that sells bags of ice. We have already recommended Lindenhof B & B to friends and family!

Auguasta was Great. The Lindenhof provided excellent the accomidations and a breakfast which provided the needed engergy for the upcoming day's adventures. The sitting areas held a comfortablely small (5-7) size group where the day's events could be exchanged with snacks and wine.

If you're riding the Katy and needing a place to stay in Augusta, I highly recommend the Lindenhof Bed and Breakfast, which is just a couple blocks off the trail. Our group of six stayed there two nights last week, and the accommodations were absolutely perfect. Kathy was a gracious and informative host, and our rooms were spacious, clean, comfy, and charming. We shared the common area with two other guests, and there was plenty of space for all of us to relax. Our breakfast both days was delicious, with more than enough carbs and protein to fuel our morning rides. We also loved the outdoor space--lovely greenery everywhere, a shed to park our bikes, plenty of seating around the water feature and the fireplace (which we used both nights), and even a hot tub (which we didn't use but could have). We've stayed in a lot of places over the years while riding the Katy, but the Lindenhof B&B is now one of our favorites that I'm sure we'll return to in the future.

What can I say... Our stay exceeded our expectations in every way! Kathy was a wonderful host! Banana bread, cookies, fresh bread and olive oil upon arrival with a stocked fridge of water, tea and lemonade. The outdoor patio was a relaxing oasis that included a hot tub and outdoor stone fireplace. Well located in town although we chose to spend most of the evening right at home! And the breakfast.... Kathy out did herself. We will be back and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in Augusta!!
