We stay 2 nights at this nice hotel. Great support at reception, great service and great suite. Hotel is 500 mts from downtown but is quite. They have also 2 Tesla wallbox and one generic wallbox for customers not free of charge. Great breakfast and cordiality. Highly recommend!! Congratulations to the staff
Lovely hotel set back from the lake and outside the centre of the village. The private beach is a short walk away and there is car parking at the hotel which is unusual in St Wolfgang. We took half board and the evening meal is really good with a meat option, a fish option( often local lake fish) and a vegetarian option. Breakfast is first class too. We were three( my wife and i and our fourteen year old daughter, and we had a family room with a separate bedroom for our daughter which was ideal. The village itself is very charming and the region breathtaking in its beauty. A visit to the Kaiservilla in Bad Ischel was great. Highly recommended !
Had the most amazing experience in St Wolfgang, largely due to the Forsterhof hotel. Brilliant and friendly staff, our room (105) looked out onto the mountains and it was so relaxed and peaceful. Clean, tidy and a very peaceful atmosphere. Breakfast and dinner were both prepared and served in a manner youd see in the classiest of restraunts. The hotel sits in a very quiet location about 10 minutes walk from the centre of town so if you want a quiet retreat I would highly recommend this place. Special shootout to Sabine in reception who helped us with our time here and gave us great advice on what to do and see as we had never been here before. Everytime we had a small problem (which was rare) or needed something she assisted us without any hesitation and she did it all with a smile on her face. The waiting staff were so polite and professional and even though there was a slight language barrier at times they done their duties to the absolute finest and couldnt fault them at any point. On our arrival we were very late and missed dinner due to a delayed flight..they turned up to our room with drinks and a platter of food which we really appreciated as we hadn't eaten properly all day. The small private beach is a 5 minute walk from the hotel and you're provided with free sunbeds, umbrellas, towels and a very chilled time sitting by the lake. Thank you Forsterhof for having us and for making our trip here an even better experience than we could have hoped for. If we ever return, you will definitely be high on the list of places to stay again. From room 105 (July 13 - 20); Danke Schön! ❤…
The bed is so nice that my friend screamed when sitting down! They prepared quilt in heart shape, also the room key. It would be romantic to come with the one you love. But it takes around 10 minutes from bus stop to reach, very quiet hotel. Breakfast is average. They will serve hot milk/ coffee when you arrived.
We stayed at this hotel in February of 2017 on an organised coach trip. Although it was obviously off season. It is a Summer resort and not a winter resort. The hotel and staff were very good. The accommodation was clean and tidy and very good. The food was very good. I can have no complaints. One funny thing though. The toilet did not stop running water after it had flushed. We reported it to reception and in due time a lady arrived with a spanner. She flushed the toilet and said " It is Good" and went to leave. No I said wait a moment and you will see that it does not stop. But she flushed it again. No I said wait a moment and you will see what I mean. She did. I expect her lack of English and my lack of Austrian was probably the case of the confusion. But it would have made a great sketch for Faulty Towers. Her with her spanner and me in my pajamas. But I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would stay there again.…
Due to work I travel a lot and I stayed in many four and five star hotels - I am still wondering how this hotel got theirs! The building and the facilities are old and lack charme. The bathroom of my suite wasn't cleaned well and the wellness/spa area requires restoration. The quality of the food is solid, but for a 21century cuisine not innovative at all. My overall impression is, that the hotel got stuck in the 80's. The service was good, although I heard loud conflicts between the staff twice. The region itself is beautiful, I strongly recommend visiting it. BUT, do yourself a favor and stay at a different hotel, the Försterhof is not worth it's money.
It's a nice 3 star + hotel with decent rooms and a small spa area. Comfortable rooms, and good breakfast. It's just a 5 mins walk down the little hill that it's on to the lake. However, one can't see the lake from here. Overall a nice place to stay when in wolfgansee
I enjoyed staying in this hotel.Lovely location, beautiful decoration, very well lighted, very clean, staff very friendly, facilities excellent, the only thing I missed was a kettle for tea or coffee and small fridge in the room.
My partner and I stayed 6 nights at the beginning of February. However we almost walked out when we saw the shabby bedroom carpets on the second floor. If we had arrived in daytime, we would have left the Försterhof immediately. It is not the standard we expect to find in a 4-star hotel. In the event, we arrived after dark, a kind lady from the village drove us from the main street to the hotel because we could not find a taxi. We had a good dinner and breakfast the next morning. So we decided to stay a couple of days and see. The friendly and efficient staff made us change our mind and we decided to stay on. We understand that some improvements have already been made in the public areas and the sauna area is good. We managed to speak to the owner and she assured us that the carpets will be replaced later in the year. Unfortunately, January/February was not a good time to stay in St. Wolfgang. It was very quiet, the railway up the mountain and the boat crossing services were not operating. We managed to get around with the local bus service.…
I can' t say enough about the friendly staff at the Foersterhof. They are all young but from the time we first arrived until we were leaving, they made us feel like one of the family. They all helped out wherever and whenever needed. Debora, Temara and Stefanie on reception could find you anything you asked. Be it bus, train or boat journeys to maps for walks in the area. The hotel sits in a beautiful area for walking holidays. The local bus stop, the ski bus stop, the boat to Strobl and St Gilden and the Cog railway station up to the mountain are all 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Josef, Susanne and Dereya kept the restaurant running efficiently no matter how many people they had to serve. The food was excellent although the choice of main was 1 meat, fish or vegeterian. Josef, my brother from another mother, was a God send. He was so funny and a real character to interact with during the meals, he kept my mum going each day which she enjoyed. All the best to him and the love of his life, Noamey(sorry for the spelling). The bedrooms were large and with a round bed, quirky. Excellent bathroom with hot towel rail for dry clothes and really hot water for a lovely hot bath. The cleaning staff were in the room when you were at breakfast and when you returned the bedroom/bathroom were spotless and the bed made up. The views of the mountains and the lake, on my tiptoes, from the balcony are beautiful. I do believe we got the best rooms but from what else I could see, it would not be faulted. The spa and treatment rooms on the top floor looked well equiped and well laid out, can't comment more as we did not use it. Unfortunately the Austrian version of curling was not open as the ice rink was not ready because the weather had not been cold enough. The price we paid for this hotel over Christmas, we thought was very reasonable. We had an fantastic holiday here. God bless all the staff at the Foersterhof Hotel.…
