(+) a feeling to be a family member, modern house, large room, good breakfast & restaurant, free parking & internet, simple access, good base for exploring the lake district (Salzkammergut), very helpful & guiding owners, nice view, floor level shower (-) location on main road may bother a little, not suitable for public transport travelers, a little out of town

5 minutes after arriving at the hotel we already felt as if we were visiting family and not staying at a hotel. The amount of personal interest Carolyn and Wolfgang take in their guests is astounding. Every morning they would go over our itinerary for the day, making suggestions and reservations as needed. One morning I wanted to go for... More

Upon arrival we received a personal and very warm welcome by the owners. We were offered a free room upgrade and after we let them know we planned to eat in the restaurant, the table was already set with a baby chair by the time we got down and for breakfast. They made reservations for us at a discount rate... More

We spent 4 days at this lovely hotel near Sankt Wolfgang. We had a family suite, with an extra room for the children. The room was very nice with a great view to the mountains, enough space for 4, a small kitchen and a spacious bath. The furniture was new and modern. The hotel is outside of Sankt Wolfgang (about... This was a great hotel because; 1. Great room size and condition. Very very well fitted out. Super comfortable beds. 2. Very helpful hosts in Wolgang and Carolyn. Nothing was too much trouble. For example Wolfgang gave us advice as to places to visit which lead to us changing our travel plans significantly. Carolyn was also very happy to lend... More

Our plans changed and we spent longer in Wolfgangsee than planned. Our host arranged this accommodation for us as he was booked for the extra days. So this was an unexpected bonus. Wolfgang and Carolin gave us a friendly welcome and were very helpful. We stayed on the 4th floor in a spacious 2 bedroom unit. The hotel has recently... More

This is a beautiful small family run hotel on the outskirts of St Wolfgang. The rooms are lovely and perfectly clean. The breakfast is very good. Caroline and Wolfgang who run it could not do enough to help us. We had the best stay there and we will go back.

My family and I wanted to spend the last day and night of our Austrian visit in St. Wolfgang where we had been before during the holidays for their wonderful Kristkindlmarkt. We wanted to be out of the hubbub of the town but nearby. We settled on the Gasthof Burglstein and we are so happy we did. It's a lovely,... More
