Great view and such a lovely facility! My husband and I recently had a drink and some bar food (all that's left of their menu choices) on the outside deck overlooking the golf course. The limited menu was nothing great (due to apparent pending sale of business--?), but the buildings and setting are first rate. We are not golfers, but hear the golf course is amazing. Have had special events, conferences, dinners, and light suppers with friends at this place over the years, and it has always been a delight--great food, great service, and flexible rooms for every need. The Lodge is a gorgeous building and serves as a great venue for weddings, parties, and the like.

The 4 of us visited as part of our golf week. The course is excellent! We weren't sure what to expect with the future looking dim for this resort. We expected the service not to be up to par but the staff bent over backwards to accommodate us. We spent the night in the cabins that sat amongst the woods and the beautiful course. The breakfast buffet was phenomenal. It was part of the deal. It featured eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, shredded hash browns, fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, bagels, Danish, juices, etc. The rooms didn't have an area for us to play cards but the guy at the front desk gave us a key to open one of the small Sorry, I'm in a meeting. please call back if it's urgent cabins and it was great. VERY accommodating. The lodge also had a bar and lounge with very good food and a nice selection of beer. I hope someone buys this conference center and provides quality service like this place.

We went to Yarrow Golf and Conference Resort the last week of August, and it was beautiful and peaceful. Great golf course (very long, at least for us!) and they let us golf as a twosome but we still had a fairly good pace of play each day. Top-notch cabin suite, with private screened porch and rocking chairs, french doors, flat screen TV, desk/couch/seating area, lots of tall screened windows, etc. Great price at this time of year too, and it included golf. Be ready to drive a while to get to a dinner or evening out (Battle Creek or Kalamazoo, probably), but for us that was fine -- we enjoyed the countryside scenery too.

We held our annual 4 day golf tournament at Yarrow again this year and were very pleased, as always, with the event. We're a group of relatively experienced golfers who normally play challenging courses and Yarrow certainly is, while being one of the most beautiful courses in the area. I love the Jack Pine rolling terrain mixed with the water and meadows, it mixes it up well. Since starting to come here for one of our days, shortly after they opened, we changed our tournament to only play at Yarrow instead of a traveling course event. Although we miss playing different courses, the beauty of the course coupled with the different tee boxes is worth it. We love the breakfasts and service at the resort, the accommodations are good although slightly dated. The lodge is great. Being a ways away from everything means it's takes a short drive to the store or restaurants, but that's not usually an issue. We do miss having a pool and hot tub, that would be a great addition. We hope we are able to return next year.

Probably would be a very good rating if I was there for the golfing and used the facilities and complimentary breakfast. However, I can only rate the room experience and the location of the room. This is the reason for the "average" rating. I stayed in the Larkspur #1 which had 2 queen beds. Came in from out of state to visit friends. PROS: Free hot breakfast, however, can not rate how well it was since it is served from 7-9am and we are not early risers. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Great water pressure. Supplied 4 bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths. Had coffee maker and condiments if so inclined to use. Beautiful grounds and golf course, although not golfers, the place was beautifully maintained. Nice paved trail to walk along. Staff was very friendly and helpful. CONS: The following doesn't bother but may bother some so found it worth mentioning. Because it is nestled against the woods, one must have to deal with bugs. Just getting into our room my son and I got attacked by mosquitos which of course follow you as well as other bugs, i.e. lightening bugs, into the room. Had to spend time getting rid of them. Also found a few "Daddy Long Legs spiders" making their homes in the corner of the ceilings as well as one greeting me on my bed. There was also a snake slithering it's way back into the woods which we were warned of by another resort customer. This is not a reflection on the resort since their is nothing they can do about nature and after all, if you want to be away from everything and be set on beautiful grounds, it is something you have to expect. The air conditioner wouldn't stay on for more than 5-10 minutes at a time no matter how cold I set it, therefore, the room remained somewhat muggy with a slight musty smell. Didn't complain since again, it really didn't bother me but know this would be bothersome to others. I do not recommend staying in a room on the bottom floor as well as one that is located on the end where there are stairs leading up to the second floor. People where loud and running up and down the stairs from 7am on and later in the evening when trying to sleep. Would also recommend staying on second floor so you don't have anyone loud over your room like we had. There are no microwaves or mini-fridges in rooms which to me is a shame. They do have a snack shop and soda machine. The last CON is that even though they offer free wifi, the Larkspur buildings wifi was out of commission the entire time we stayed which was for 4 days. The other buildings did have wifi and I was able to connect to the main wifi building when in proximity to it. Unfortunately this chewed up my data on my cell service. The location appeared to be approx. 20-30 minutes from everywhere but that was ok with me. If you don't mind wildlife and bugs that come along with the location, I would recommend staying here. Especially if you are an avid golfer. If you want to be closer to things, prefer better climate control and don't want to deal with bugs, I would recommend a hotel.
