Detailed Reviews
The Triangle is a charming 10 unit Motel that was built in the 50's on the outskirts of Alma, Ithaca, and St. Louis, the rooms are clean, clean, clean and nicely decorated, the beds are also clean and comfortable enough, if smoking was ever allowed in the rooms, you would never know it. The grounds are manicured and have a couple picnic tables that we enjoyed with our take out from a restaurant in downtown Alma. There are also chairs just outside your door that you can use to enjoy the view of the courtyard and your favorite beverage.
Just across the street is a gas station/ beverage/snack store, we were given coupons for free non-alcoholic beverages. There is a bar that serves food just across the parking lot...but don't let this be a deterrent to staying there....the owners have must have an agreement with the bar owners, we haven't been kept awake on any of our trips to the area. The owners (Michelle and Judy) are wonderful and should be very proud of what they have done with this motel, and they also live on site. (I remember this motel from the 70's and believe me when I say...The ladies should be VERY PROUD of what they have done with the property.) They also have a room designated for guests with pets. Just down the street there is a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. What you will find in your room: Your bed(s), a television, a couple of chairs, a desk with a chair and a lamp, a rack to hang your clothing, side tables, lamps and your air conditioner. You can use the air conditioner to drown out any noise you may hear from the street outside or the (easy access) Highway just down the road. I didn't need to do this, and I slept like a baby.
You will also have a Fridge and Microwave. What more could you possibly need? The bathroom has soft water and is equiped with a shower, Bring your own body wash/shampoo, but if you forget they do have some in the office. For me, this is the only game in the county, my home away from home. Thank you once again ladies, we hope to see you again soon.

I was very impressed with the room, very nice and clean bathroom with nice towels, very nice flat screen TV with every channel you could name, very, very clean refrigerator and microwave, the bed was extremely comfortable and yes, the pillows were very fluffy. The carpet,
chairs and tables were all very nice. The clock had outlets built in to plug your phone in right next to your bed. They thought of everything. State-of-the-art locking system for your door. The owner was awesome. Only 7 minutes away to where I needed to go, Gas station directly across the street. That's my go to place when I visit again. Very quiet as well. I rate them a 10+

We have stayed here a few times over the last few years. I was totally surprised the first time by the nicely done rooms, and they were squeaky clean!! And they did not fail again. I will stay here everytime and suggest it to anyone that will be in the area. As i said in my first review this is still , but I think people are catching on, Alma's hidden gem.

I am in love with this little motel! We have stayed here SEVERAL times & never been less than 100% happy. The rooms are always clean and comfy. It may not be the TajMahal but its great for a reasonable place to sleep close to Alma College & other events/places. Their grounds are beautiful as well! You can't go wrong staying at the Triangle Motel!

I had to stay for a night in Alma and I didn't think there were any nice hotels in town! Although the rooms are small, it is very clean and nicely decorated. Has a fridge and microwave. The owners are very accommodating. Follows covid directions wonderfully!

Hotel was clean. Beds comfy but a bit too hard for me. The worst no on-site coffee. Reviews stated that coupons for coffee at Mobil. I did not see any. Easy on and off freeway. Nice grounds with pretty flowers

Sorry for the delayed response. We are glad you found your room clean. Sorry about the coffee, but the new owners of the gas station decided to discontinue the free coffee a few years ago.

Called the proprietor and made a reservation. A few hours later, upon arrival, "Michelle," a co-owner, informed me that my room was no longer available and that a smaller room was all that was left.
"Well, may I have a discounted rate then, since you are giving me a room other than what I reserved?" I asked.
"No." she said. "But, you can go someplace else?"
[Are you kidding me? Did she just say that? I thought to myself.]
Frustrated, I accepted the room because of time constraints and pressing work obligations to attend to. The proprietor should have called me if there had been a change to room availability, but poor customer service (and common sense) is apparently their "style."
To compound matters, I had to turn on my phone recorder when she began insisting that she could deny me (and my service dog) the room as it was not a "pet friendly" room. It took me "reminding" her of the Americans with Disabilities Act and how what she was doing was unlawful, before she changed her tune.
No apology. No nothing.
Besides all of that, the room was clean. However, don't let the photographs fool you. The motel is feet away from the Interstate and directly across from a busy gas station -- meaning that it is very noisy (from inside your room).

We would like to address your review because obviously our intentions and your interpretation of them were not the same. First of all, upon your arrival, the first thing I did was apologize to you, telling you that I had made a mistake at the time of taking your reservation and did not realize that we only had rooms with 2 beds left. You are right, I should have called you immediately and I did apologize for not doing so. Our rooms are all the same size. So, instead of one bed, your room would have 2 beds. I did not think, as you were travelling alone, that this would be an issue, let alone a huge one. After seeing how important this was to you, I offered to release you from your guaranteed reservation, giving you the option to go someplace else where you could get a room with the queen size bed you wanted. I was not as asking you to leave. Second, during this time, I saw your dog stick it's head out of the car window. Since you never disclosed that you had a dog, let alone a service dog, my first response was to simply inform you of our general pet policy. It was at that point, when you felt I was denying your rights that I suggested that you might be happier someplace else, as this was obviously not going well. You were never denied a room. After you insisted that I just "issue you your room" I understood that things just needed to be wrapped up. While you were unloading your belongings, additional apologies and attempts to rectify the situation were made. We apologize for any and all misunderstandings and are sorry you had a bad experience at our motel. We have been doing this for 23 years and it is never our intention to have things go poorly.

While recently visiting family and friends in Mid-Michigan, we stayed five nights at the Triangle Motel, and had such a positive experience that we’ve found it difficult to know what to say in our review. It would be easy to simply repeat what has been stated in the numerous other glowing reviews, but this exceptional motel deserves something more.
Cleanliness, Comfort, and Convenience appear to be the foundational trifecta upon which the Triangle Motel is built, and it just gets better from there. The owners are environmentally conscious, and participate with a recycling operation called “Clean the World” which recycles unused soap and shampoo. That kind of commitment to the environment speaks volumes to us, as it should to anyone who cares about our collective future on this planet. Additionally, we discovered their commitment doesn’t stop there. They also go out of their way to purchase American-sourced supplies whenever possible. It’s refreshing to encounter a business that backs up “Local” and “Green” talk with action.
One of the highlights of our trip was meeting and talking with the owners - Michelle and Judy - during the course of our stay. These women are amazing. The passion and love they have for all aspects of their motel are readily apparent everywhere you look. From the cozy rooms inside, to the beautiful flowerbeds and whimsical outdoor art, you are warmly invited to roam, relax, and rejuvenate. Michelle and Judy are friendly, courteous, and accommodating in every way. They certainly helped to make our Michigan trip more graceful and enjoyable. Needless to say, on our future visits to the area we will never stay anywhere else. We feel as though we arrived as strangers, and left as friends. How many times have you been able to say *that* about a stay in a motel?

Hello,
We only have nightly rates. Thank you.
We do not have rooms with cooktops and have responded to your email regarding rates and availability.
Thanks~
Your dog is welcome in certain rooms. However, they can not be left alone, even if crated. We just ask that you inform us of your pet when booking.
Thank you!
The room I had had a very small bathroom, but I don't know if all the rooms are like that. Call them to be sure; they are very customer-friendly.
I don't believe so....everything is on the ground floor, however, maneuvering in the bathroom would be very difficult if not impossible. Please note, we didn't see all the rooms. I would call and ask the owner. She was super!
