Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
Guests have called out the Best Western Greenfield Inn for its charming, albeit slightly outdated, atmosphere, complemented by the spaciousness of the rooms and amenities such as grand bathtubs and readily available ice machines. While the majority of travelers revel in the comfort of the clean, well-appointed rooms, a few have noted HVAC issues and noise concerns.
The hotel's value is frequently highlighted, offering affordability without skimping on cleanliness or service, despite occasional lapses in professionalism. Popular amenities like the pool and complimentary breakfast enhance the overall experience, despite some comments on the need for modern updates.

Detailed Reviews
Visiting The Henry Ford and other local attractions, the Best Western Greenfield Inn was the perfect choice for our family, two mature (60’s) adults and one teen. The hallways alone were an enjoyable experience with all of the automotive prints, very motivating for a trip to “Motor City”. We bought a package which included a reduced rate at the museum, Greenfield Village, and the assembly plant tour. They also provide door-to-door transportation to and from the attractions at no cost and at our convenience.
Regarding the hotel itself, the included breakfast was good and exactly what you would expect as a traveler. They mix it up each morning: eggs, pancakes, breakfast meat, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruits, cereals, yogurt, etc. No complaints from any of us, They kept the buffet bar very clean and you’re eating on paper plates so clean dish ware was not an issue and made it easy. Good selection of drinks: coffee, tea, all types of juices, and water.
In addition to breakfast, we ate in the restaurant a couple of evenings (yes, real plates) and the food was quite good. Drinks were cold, food was hot, grandson enjoyed it and we enjoyed it. We heard the chicken Parmesan was excellent, my wife certainly enjoyed it. Grandson loved the boneless chicken wings so much he ordered them both nights with other appetizers as well which we also enjoyed.
We were there during the week and got to take advantage of the pool, hot tub, and sauna in the evening. They were very clean and hot, everything operational, certainly meeting any expectations.
I usually tell of our experiences and let reviewers make up their own mind but I would encourage any of my family and/or friends that this is hands down the place to stay if you’re visiting The Henry Ford or any other nearby attraction. There were many business travelers as guests, as well, and I would certainly utilize the Best Western Greenfield Inn if I were traveling for work, too.

Hotel's Favorite
The “pink palace” is an older but comfortable hotel. While the neighborhood isn’t the greatest, the hotel is very safe. Muggy’s restaurant is decent and preferable to moving the car.
The staff was super friendly and offered discounts to the nearby Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Villages as well as shuttle service which saves on parking fees. If one is interested in American History I highly recommend spending a day in each!

Booked this hotel through FedRooms for work. Hotel is dated but has a nice pool and grounds. Furniture was in good shape but the mattress was worn out. Room was clean except for the linoleum floor which left my feet feeling dirty, some rooms do have carpet though. Could hear some noise from the hall and other rooms when the other guests were being loud. Breakfast was very good and is served in the restaurant every morning. The restaurant is only open for dinner. Parking lot seemed big enough but it did fill up when I was out late one night, I did appreciate that the hotel closes gates to the lot at night so you have to access it by the lobby.

I was attending a conference in the Detroit area and was looking at different hotels in the general area. I compared a few different options and it came down to Best Western or Holiday Inn. The room prices and the amenities were similar for both locations. I finally decided on Best Western due to it being a few miles closer to the venue I was attending.
This location seems to be an older one and it has the feelings of an old building. The room I stayed in could be best described as dingy. There wasn't a ceiling light and all the light for the room came from tiny lamps scattered around the room. This made it to so that if you wanted to see anything you had to walk around and turn on 6 different lamps to gain just a decent view of your surroundings. I was on the third floor and there were spots all over the crown molding where there had been water leaks from the roof. The wood trim around the doors was beaten up and one section of it was completely missing. The upper dead bolt of the door also didn't align properly and you had to lift and pull at the door if you wanted to engage it. The showerhead in the bathroom was broken and didn't allow you to adjust the spray settings. The AC unit in the room also looked like it had never been wiped down and there was dirt and grime in the vents. As I said, after encountering all these things the best word I can think to describe the room is dingy.
I also didn't like that the pictures on the Best Western website for this location did not reflect the room correctly. One of the biggest thing was that the site showed that the room was supposed to be carpeted but instead had laminate flooring. Things like that immediately make me feel like I have had a bait and switch pulled on me the second I open the room door.
The complimentary breakfast was serviceable but had its issues. The menu rotates each day and you basically have three hot options per day. For the days that I stayed, scrambled eggs were served each day. The first time I tried them I got a strange taste from them. I don't know if it's from the oil/butter/pan that they used or if they use something like liquid eggs but it's just something I noticed from the first bite. The other days that I stayed they served things like ham and French toast or pancakes and sausage links. These items were decent and I didn't have an issue with them. They did also provide things like sugar free syrup which is a nice option.
Overall, I was disappointed with this location.

Great mattresses and I appreciate ALL the pillows. The outside common areas and gazebos are great gathering places. The pool/hot tub are cleaned daily and I loved all the photos of vintage automobiles throughout the hotel. The on-site bar/restaurant is definitely a bonus. It's just a really cool place to stay. *shuttle service is available*

This hotel is a little dated, but has great character in the old crown molding around the doors and great pictures of almost every classic car you can imagine lining the walls; most importantly it was very clean. Great pool and hot tub, they even still have a sauna!!! The staff was very friendly and they have awesome chicken wings in the restaurant! We will definitely be back to stay during our next visit to the Henry Ford.

Overall, we felt the hotel was good. The hotel is old, the layout is confusing and not at all convenient. We had to walk the majority of the length of the hotel to get to the only working elevator (the broken one near lobby has apparently been that way for quite some time and no indication it is being fixed) to return to our room which was barely a few steps from the broken one). Signage is a bit confusing, but a simple map the staff provided was easy to follow. Room was clean and decently appointed. There was a decent couch for relaxing, coffee maker and acceptable shower - an exhaust fan would be great addition. Room included a breakfast buffet that was OK - barely. Price was very reasonable and the hotel was relatively convenient (once the maze that is MI road system is deciphered ) to The Henry Ford Museum. Chairs in lobby were ultra low and a bit more attention to keeping the bare floor in front of check in free of mud tracked in by guests would greatly improve first impression. Staff were friendly and overall we were quite satisfied.

Room Tip: Ask for room near back parking lot due to elevator issue which seems to be long term.

Immediately when I checked in my bill was $50 more then originally agreed, and the lady at the desk told me their prices had increased and that was the new price. Too bad, I'm not paying that. She spend several minutes "putting in codes" and magically got the price back down to what I agreed to pay.
When we got to the elevator my husband and I both had a terrible feeling because the elevator REEKED of stale cigarette smoke. When we got to our floor it smelled like marijuana and it was obvious people were smoking in their rooms. By the way, the luggage carts were also absolutely filthy and stained, I've never seen anything like it. Our room was nice and large, and we liked the hard wood floors. My son dropped something behind one of the beds and when we moved it out OH MY GOD it was filthy. Gobs of hair, dirty tissues, dusk-it hadn't been moved and cleaned in at least 6 months. We also couldn't let him sit on the couch because it had what looked like blood stains on it.
The courtyard area was nice, but when we went down there the gazebos were filthy and there were cigarette butts everywhere-seriously, my kid was trying to pick them up because he didn't know what they were. We ended up having to go in because of the cigarette butts.
The restaurant was good for breakfast. For dinner service was slow-it took about half an hour for us to order a pizza to go and my son was starving. One of the waitresses had a terrible attitude and wouldn't even give me a menu without me asking, and then she threw it on our table and never came back to take our order so I had to go to the bar (the bartender was very nice and the breakfast staff were amazing!)
For $350 I would expect at least a clean room, this place was an absolute dump. I felt bad having my son in that environment.

Charming Victorian hotel. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub, and sauna. Transportation to the Henry Ford museum and village was appreciated. There were many settings inside and out to lounge and relax. The room was comfortable with desk, microwave, refrigerator, and both desk and setting chair. Coffee and tea was always available and a hot buffet breakfast free each morning.

We did not have a good experience at this hotel. We were there for a 7 night stay and on the 3rd day they lost power so we had no elevator, no wifi, no hot water, no air conditioning and restaurant on site closed down so no hot breakfast for the rest of the stay. On the 5th day hot water and wifi were back and not till 6th day air conditioning was back on. I asked Manager Mary if there was going to be compensation for all the things were not getting and she said no. "You can check out and find another place to stay" was her response. She then looked at my reservation and saw I booked through a third party and stated "If I had booked through them maybe she could have helped but since I did a third party I would have to talk to them." I was there with a large family gathering so there were too many people to change everyone's reservations to a new hotel. I have never experienced such bad customer service. I did call customer relations for BW but they called hotel and came back on line and said they will not do anything and they are independently owned so there was nothing they could do. Beware of this hotel.

It is not a pet friendly hotel.
Our son used the pool and it had many other children there too.
You should contact the hotel itself for that info.
Honestly I agree with a previous reviewer, there is very little within walking distance of the Greenfield Inn. I would suggest you take advantage of ALL the time the Collette tour gives you for the Henry Ford & Greenfield Village. If you have the extra time, stay at the HF & G'village as long as you can, grab a taxi or Uber back to hotel.
There is some great shopping nearby if you have free time and are willing to taxi there.
My comments probably too late to help you, sorry.
But for others on a tour where are on a bus or schedule....have some free time if especially at the G'field Inn (or anywhere) ask the front desk staff! They are generally local, know the best places & very friendly & very helpful!
