People is not friendly, they never smile. The kitchen is open from 14 to 21. You can't use the kitchen when you need it. The shower is cold, stuff do not help you. The good things are the structure of the big house and the breakfast.

At the first sight it looked OK! Apparently they have a huge problem of water infiltration. Our nuptial room was cold and the bathroom was a disaster. Sink, toilet and bathroom were liking. Not to mention the hole in the the ceiling!! We had to call the reception every time we were using the bathroom. The last day the handle... More

Not many cheap hostels to choose from and for a private room this wasn't even that cheap. Location was fine, close to the main square and tour agencies. We chose not to go with their mine tour and go with a well reviewed agency. Our private room was very draughty and noisy. The bathroom was freezing too and wasn't very... More

Do not do the mine tours with this hostel. The tour guide was coked up chewing on coca leave and had no concern or understand for anyone's safety. The mines are dangerous enough let alone with the tour guide blowing up dynamite 25m away from your group in a cave.

At under $25 AUS per night we didn't have high expectations. It's what we wanted to pay for a 12 hour stay. The hostal it's self could be gorgeous. The building as so much potential for renovations. We booked a double room, but received a twin. The toilets were revolting. Fellow backpackers learn how to use a toilet, in the... More

The building itself is great: lots of character, wonderful location. A bit of work, and I can see how this hostel can become a great place to stay. Currently, the hostel is missing several key components. First, I would not say that it is clean. My towel has significant discoloration in the middle, and I forced myself to take the... More

We took a private room and if the showers were not clean, the room was the worst part of it with ugly paints on the wall. Regarding the staff, they offered to keep our bags if we took a tour with them. At the last minute, they said that they could only keep our passports and that we had to... More

Despite reading the reviews and being very cautious about staying here we had a great stay. The staff were really helpful and we had a big private room for only 90 bolivianos. The tour was great and really good value (100bolivianos). We could understand why past reviews were bad e.g. Poor electrical wiring in the room and our lock didn't... More

I was reluctant to book here but needed a cheap private room. Everywhere else was crazily too expensive.....for Bolivia. Upon check in I expected the worse but in the end was pleasantly surprised. The building is crumbling in areas but still charming, pretty and flooded with light. We were given room 1 (twin beds) which had exposed beams, Tv and... More
