Detailed Reviews
We planned to stay 5 days in little castle and ended up staying about 2 weeks. Patricio and Ina, the owners, are super friendly, helpfuk and uncomplicated. They recommended us nice activities and had a lot of interesting stories and Information. We would always come back! The room, bathrooms and kitchen were always clean and are well equiped. Thank you so much for the nice time at your hostel!

We couldn't have asked for a better experience at the Little Castle in Vina. Our host Patricio was warm & welcoming from the beginning, suggesting a nice walk to take in the sights of the city and letting us know which buses we needed to take to get around if need be. The house is a lovely old building that sits right on the corner of the hill (a little walk up some stairs from the main street) with lots of character. Patricio made us a great breakfast with avocado on toast & lots of interesting conversation, and the kitchen is well equipped for cooking yourself if you wish. Wifi in most of the house, hot & good shower, quiet at night & an altogther pleasant experience. Also, Patricio speaks English very well. Thank you for having us!

We enjoyed this place very much. We are travelling with our two boys and Patricio was very accommodating and helpful. If you are new to travelling remember that this is a Hostel with shared facilities, etc. - and not a hotel. But the experience is much better - you get to interact with people - talk with others and be in the real world. Our hosts were very nice and allowed us to stay extra time while we waited for our vehicle to arrive. Most of the time it appears they are full and have repeat customers - hint hint - this place is great.
The house is a bit rustic - which is very cool - it's sort of like living in a fraternity house in college a bit - but it's wonderful. If you want a real experience - go for it.

It is a dirty house, not easy access. You have to share the bathroom with others. They don't provide even a towel. You have to rent it. It is located on a busy and noise street. Could not sleep !!. It is a fraud. Don't go, there is other places in Vina or Renaca ( 10 minutes).
Rate this dirty house= -10 or worse.

This was the best place we stayed in Chile. We loved being on the hill, overlooking beautiful Viña del Mar. The double room upstairs boasted a view of the city from its window for a lower price than we'd paid for other double rooms in Chile. But the best thing about the place was the owner, Patricio. He made us feel welcome before we even arrived through an email exchange to make sure he was prepared for us. He went well out of his way to make sure we were happy and comfortable, including suggesting places to go, giving us travel advice, and sitting with us over a glass of wine and discussing travel, politics, and language. His English is impeccable, in case your Spanish is not. We'd highly recommend this place to anyone, but especially to a couple looking to see Viña.

My son and I stayed one night in the hostal in February 2014. I do not think it deserves the very high score it has (happens sometimes!). The house itself is OK, quite well located with nice places to see around. The cleanliness is OK but not perfect. We found a bottle of oil in the kitchen but it was over-aged! The rooms are OK, but not cosy or great.
The welcome was disappointing : nobody when we first showed at the exact agreed time (5pm). So we went for a walk in the really nice neighborhood. Then we called on the phone, had someone and said we're here. We were 200m away and when we reached the house we were reproached not having been HERE when calling!!! Quite a gross welcome indeed.
Things got a little better and Patricio gave us a map of the city and recommandations.
So we were a bit put off by the start and to be honest, I don't think USD60 per room was good value for this hostal, although I didn't bother comparing with competition. There are many, many hotels in Viña, so I'll simply will not return here.

This is an old homestead come hostel. The owner Patricio knows everything about the area, including buses, restaurants, shopping and can answer all your questions.
The breakfast is great each morning, the rooms are comfortable and spacious. You are close to the beach, bars and restaurants and the bus stop.
Its quiet, not a party hostel, but its clean and safe.
I would come back here and would recommend it.
The room we stayed in was a matromonial, there is only shared bathrooms here. We pay 22000 per night, or there abouts.

We loved our stay at the Little Castle, thanks in large part to the owner, Patricio. He was so welcoming and gave us great travel advice over a couple glasses of wine on the patio. He made us feel so welcome that I joked with my boyfriend that I felt like we were staying with a cool uncle. The place itself is adorable, it's a historic house that was turned into a hostal. It has a lot of charm with a great view. All in all, the best place we stayed at in Chile.

We stayed here with friends for several days. Patricio is extremely friendly and sociable owner! We made a barbeque party with him and the next day he made a great city excursion for us. The place is spacious and has a big terrace, so it is possible to organise a party or just relax with a book.I would definitely recomend it for staying.
