The welcome and assistance from doormen John and Umar was so friendly on leaving and arriving. John claims to be 49? Really?? Lol
Reception staff are so helpful and friendly, Khartika and Prakash and the others I don’t know their names. Dipin the manager was approachable when I requested a move as the awful damp stench in my room 204 was made worse that it had a balcony that was locked? 2 days later I got a better room with a window. Good size, clean and great air con.
Breakfast was really good with a different choice of Indian food daily along with a good selection of fruits, salads, various eggs to order and bakery items. This was all made even more delightful from the support from the Manager of dining, Manjeet. He was most helpful and so organised, he will do well in his life.
My room was attended to by Suman, very polite young man from Nepal. Good worker and good manners.
We had the pool to ourselves most days and this was a bonus in the 40 plus degree heat, it was fabulous. The attention came from Rishi (Not UK Prime minister but better) He cleaned the pool daily and supplied us with information , towels and ice buckets to keep our water cold.
I would like to point out that the above staff did NOT request I done a good review for them. Its so easy to spot fake reviews so this is genuinely earned.
I have booked here for my next trip too.

At the end of our cruise to Dubai we met two of our Granddaughters for a 3 night stay in Dubai and chose the Gateway Hotel. Very well situated in the Old City - close to the Cruise Terminal and the Creek. Stayed in two interconnecting rooms on the second which were very comfortable and of good size. Very friendly and accommodating staff and good value for money. Adequate breakfast, and reasonable choice of main courses for Dinner, although would prefer more than one option for pudding! Recommended.

We chose this hotel as it was renovated and close to the train system
However it is located in a commercial sector. The rooms and floors have been redone and they are nice. The bed was comfortable but the hot water system took at least 20 mins to get hot. Breakfast and dinner package was basic but pleasant. The staff were very friendly

Being a 3 stars hotel could be easily a 4 stars in other countries- very big room and bathroom, tv, strong air conditioned, a relaxing bulk bed (maybe too short) a very nice lobby and good service from lersonnel(they speak english). It is well positioned halfway dubai and sharjah airports and the downtown with the major attractions and beaches. Historical dubai is one foot away. In my opinion I wished more coffee choice on breakfast (35 dirham) and I wasn't able to reduce the air conditioner.

We stay there for 21 days due the coronavirus, because we decided to remain in Dubai instead of going home, before the ownwer decide to close due we remaind 3 customers, ( ..but he apologized for it and promiss me a discount in my next visit ! ). The hotel is in a strategic area, where in 15/20 minutes you are in all the most important places, like Cornice, bus station, metro and plenty restaurant around. Staff always very kindly and helpful, but a special mention for Mrs Sanjo, deputy manager and Mrs Christine, the manager, the souls of the hotel.

This is an average place. The room that was offered to us gave a bad smell and subsequently we were given a different room. The rugs in the room were very dirty and you don't even feel like walking on it. The drain in the bathroom gave trouble. When the wash basin tap was opened, waster came out (leak) of the floor drain. Although the aintenance staff attended to it, it could not be fixed and the issue persisted. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was good.

Great value for money, in an expensive city. We were very satisfied with the hotel. The front of house staff were very helpful, and the room itself was very nice and spacious. The location was a little ways away from Metro stations, but we soon discovered buses nearby.

The hotel is located on a very busy neighborhood filled with computers an phones shops although the rooms are really quiet. It is located very close (5 mins. walk) from a main bus and metro station.
It is also close to Dubai Creek.
Room was very spacious.
The personnel is very helpful and smiling with a special mention for Judy the guest relationship manager who is kind, smiling and very helpful.
As there are a lot of Asian guests residing in this hotel the breakfast is Continental AND Asian, a very interesting and tasty experience.
On the not so OK side: the internet is quite slow although available in the whole hotel.
Bathroom is a little basic for lighting, shower. WC not very efficient in flushing. There are not enough electric outlets.

But I would still very much recommend to visit Gateway hotel Dubai

Nice place to stay. Good ambiance. Professional team, Have good breakfast with Indian options.

Rooms are bigger than normal with dining table, clean, great bed. Best option for tourists comparing the price

Surrounding are congested with traffic but have lots of restaurants and electronics shop.

Bathroom sachets are not of top quality, Bathroom size comparatively small.

Thank you Richard but I have mobility issues and it’s too far to walk when I get off the metro at Dubai Nall. The bus stops outside the Mall entrance.

There are no free shuttles from the hotel and their airport shuttle was 4x the price of a taxi! We got taxi's everywhere as they were relatively cheap (for a family of 4). Didn't use the metro so cant comment on that. There are small supermarkets very closeby, for drinks, snacks etc.
