The Guesthouse is very well preserved with the surrounding heritage building, away from main traffic road and quiet surrounding. A bit difficult to find but if you walk from the main street and saw the Heritage House Museum, ask the front desk & he will love to bring you there.

I truly enjoyed my time at Ahmedia Guest House. I was there for about six nights in early November and I was so impressed with the beauty of the place and the graciousness of the staff. It is an old building that has been carefully restored. The wood doors, ceilings and furniture are lovely. The place is much prettier, even,...

4 am I awoke with terrible pain and itching. I turned on the light and saw dozens of bed bugs crawling all over me. The management seem uninterested in the issue. Free wireless and free bed bugs. Beautiful building but so badly managed.

If you don't like the luxury hotels any more, and looking for a Arabian ethnic place to stay in Dubai, AHMEDIA will be the best choice. It only takes 3 mins by foot to get MTR. with a reasonable price, the room rate also include a breakfast, and it tastes not bad! Furthermore, the ahmadiya school nearby is a nice...

I booked for my father and son to stay at this accommodation for 2 nights, Praveen was exceptionally helpful before arrival with airport transfers, then the staff on duty were exceptional with their customer service. My son lost his mobile at the Dubai Mall and the staff were extremely kind in getting it back, special thanks to Reynado Liwdag who...

Right when I got to the hotel I automatically felt welcomed; the service was amazing. The rooms were so traditional and clean. There was not a lot of varity when it came to their food but it was not bad. The receptionist were very nice and helpful. This hotel truly made my experience in Dubai amazing and I recommend it...

The staff were really friendly, Alena at the desk, who is Ethiopian seemed to do all the work including cooking breakfast, cleaning the rooms and carrying the baggage - I hope they pay her a mint! There was free pick up from the airport from our early flight and breakfast with a good selection - not top of the range...

This guest house is located in a typical Arab-style edifice. Although the setting is quite amusing, the guest house itself is rather spartan. The rooms are big and nicely furnished, but the doors have windows on the top that let the light from the corridors lamps into the room, making it quite bright during night, too bright for my liking....

This restaurant is a true gem, in a city with otherwise over-inflated prices. I highly recommend staying here even though it is in Old Dubai and not in the hip and happening centers of Dubai. This hotel is immaculately clean, with respectful staff, and the abode itself has so much character and charisma. I had a wonderful experience living here...

We spent 4 nights here and we booked it via hotels.com. Very good location - just a few minutes walk from Al Ras Metro station and very near to Gold Souk and Deira Old Souk. It is just next to the Heritage House museum and Al Ahmadiya School museum. Super friendly staff and they all look like they enjoy their...

Staying in The Creek

Neighborhood Profile
The Creek
The smell of frankincense hangs thick and heavy in the air, waves lap gently at jetties, and market traders call to passing tourists. The creek, originally the place where pearl boats docked and left on missions to uncover jewels from the deep, is where the city really began. The Al Fahidi District on the Creekside is one of the oldest heritage sites in Dubai, easily recognizable with its iconic wind towers, the original air conditioning. Home to the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding and the Dubai Museum, the old buildings also house a range of cafes, shops and art galleries. Often called “the real Dubai,” this is a wonderful place to lose yourself before catching an abra across the creek to the spice souk, where your senses will be overwhelmed with tastes, smells, and sounds.
