The hotel is located in Deira, an authentic Indian candle-scented area. Around there are many small shops with various goods, including groceries. There are small eateries with Indo-Pakistani dishes. A 15-minute walk from the Gold Souk metro station and the bus station (you can see the routes on Google maps). The heart of the hotel is the staff, friendly, helpful, welcoming. There is some renovation of the building: elevators have been replaced, new plumbing in the rooms. We were satisfied with our stay at the hotel, we were provided with a family room, large, bright, clean, with two balconies. The rest of the rooms are simple. Linen is clean, cleaning is good. Hot water is always available, thanks to the presence of a boiler. The air conditioner is strong and cools well. TV set, safe (free of charge), small refrigerator. Drinking water is not provided. Hygiene products - napkins, shampoo, soap, paper - in abundance. Security is on duty around the clock. The windows have aluminum frames, so the soundproofing from the street is poor, there is a lot of noise. The chic views of the planes landing are very impressive. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. The lobby is small and brightly decorated. All rooms have good free wifi. Accommodation, rest, cleanliness, staff support are good. Didn't take food, I can't rate the quality. Would recommend the hotel for a short business trip.

So, when I go to Dubai I always choose cheap and not great areas as I will always be visiting friends or going out. So this cheap not so cheerful joint was my choice. The entrance to the hotel is on a small one way street. No parking or stopping. God forbid you want an Uber to find you. Check in was fine. Room was a complete disaster. First night. No toilet paper or towels larger than a flannel. Cars honking all night and hookers shouting. The bathroom has a weird stale smell. As does the hallway. Didn’t open the cupboard as I wasn’t interested unpacking. No kettle or otherwise. Fridge didn’t work. 5 tv channels 1 English 1 Russian not sure what the others were. Comfy bed. Bad plug sockets. Wallpaper peeling. Grimy mouldy shower with nasty curtain. Hairy bathroom floor. The room was cleaned twice. One day they stopped me on the way out and asked if I want the room cleaned. I said don’t bother. The pool upstairs is ok. All the beds are broken tho and nowhere to sit. The sauna/gym/bar are closed. Didn’t get an answer as to why and really wasn’t interested. No views at all. Very worn out and a let down as some deira hotels with low star rating are way better. The breakfast is 20dhs for 5 choices. Last nights potatoes and some form of bean. Not baked beans, an egg either omelette with peppers or boiled, uncooked tomatoes and cucumber and sliced bread in a packed with butter and jam. Tea and coffee and orange juice. Positively nasty. Only went for the coffee. Some of the staff were friendly and with no English spoken and some were pure lazy and arrogant. I don’t take that well and behaved just as badly. I checked out early and wasn’t even questioned as to why. They are probably used to it. Men’s sandals were in the bathroom for what reason I have no idea.

We supposed to check in today since we had a great deal with OYO it's an app were they give a really reasonable price for a hotel stay. We got it for 20aed 1 night at we arrive at the lobby of the hotel we noticed there is a lot of people waiting to be check in the guy from the reception named "sahuj" said he is calling one by one by just remembering their faces so he asked us to wait for an hour he didn't bother to ask for any information everyone is patiently waiting. After like 40mins he called us he said the one that we booked is only for 1 adult and we need to pay additional 80aed since it's me and my wife are staying I told him after we booked the room thru OYO we called in to your hotel to confirm if the app is legit since we are sceptical the reception said it's confirm and I add that my wife booked the room for 1 person by mistake but we are a couple the reception said "no problem" the guy infront of us said we don't have a choice but to pay the 80aed very unpolite he just told us if you will not take the room step back I ask him who's the manager in the hotel and he said "I am" then turn to call a different guest we're very disappointed at the end of the day me and my wife go home we just waste taxi fare never we will recommend this kind of hotel they don't have consideration rooms should be always good for 2 and they don't know what is Customer Service at all.

Stayed here two nights for NYE as they jacked the price up skyhigh on this 2 star dump. If you pay more than US$50 for a room here then its not worth it. The place is a favourite with Russians on a budget holiday and the rooms look like babushka did the decorating back in the early 1980’s. The place is under the flight path so really noisy as well. Give it a miss!

Everything has started when I made a phone call to the call to ask for a receptionist to put me thorugh to one of their guests that stay at their so-called hotel. The guy I Believe has not been taught of phone etiquette becasue he told that the guets have left for the beack. When I asked 'do you know by any chance what time they would be coming back because they have a shuttle service to the beach (I presume they know) from hotel's end, the guy aggresively told that 'you are asking too many questions'. I asked it because I did not want to come and wait there for my guests. they are quiet old and I wanted to suit for their convenience. Then, later in the evening when I managed to set an appointment with the guest, I came to the hotel. At the reception, I ask for a receptionist (MR. Sujah Hashim)kindly to call the guest room (I gave the guest name but did not know the room number), he told that he cannot help and go ahead to contact the guest. I said you wi-fi here. Could you give me the password ? to which he said, it is only for in-house guests. I said but I do not have data. He replied 'IT IS NOT MY PROBLEM' Seriously ? I mean what kind of staff are you hiring guys ? Do not you teach them to properly communicate with guests ? They to go out, buy data, to contact my friend to whom I could not get thorugh for a long time and made me wait untill I finally sorted it out. In a nutshell, I believe you staff needs a training (intesive one for a looong time) on how to properly communicate with guests.

We were in Dubai for a few days and wanted to do lots of activities, as we were going to be out and about we didnt want an expesnive hotel as we were soending more on activities. So we chose San Marco and I would say this hotel deserves to be 3 star. I was shocked when I found out it was 2 stars. It has a tiny swimming pool on the roof, which is good for some people, however when you are in Dubai you should really be visitng the beaches. The room was clean and the staff were friendly. There are takeaway close by and some shops close by. For price this hotel is perfect if like us you will just be using it for sleeping. The wifi only works in the lobby which is not convinient. Would come back.

The rooms are old small and roach Infested. There are no carpets anywhere...everywhere is tiled. The WiFi is horribly slow and constantly crashing. The front desk staff haven't got a clue...their English is epically poor and it appears like they just don't care. "FREE" breakfast was basic and nasty. Never ever stay here!!

Uzbek travel agency booked this hotel for me, I was told this is 3 star-hotel and standard double room for a single stay. This hotel owned by Indian people and mostly geared up towards Russian and also Uzbek tourists. When travel agency offered me "San Marco" 3-star hotel I agreed because my expectation was absolutely different. They better name this hotel something Indian or Russian that people should get an idea of staying there: such as staff and food, service etc. For Russian tourists this hotel is good due to economy. But as for me, this was absolutely shocking. When I cancelled my staying in San Marco hotel and checked out they did not refund my money back. For two cancelled nights they took 220 USD and never refunded however hotel manager said they will refund my money via travel agency I used. I took some photos when I check out of the hotel. Room was not standard double and bathroom was not clean: it was full of group-flying-tiny-insects and big-grey-flies. I would upload these photos. The hotel location is in a very poor neighborhood. Staff all were indians and some of them are friendly and helpful but some of them, especially the manager, were mean and rude. He was not honest about refund either. This is the first time I paid to hotel for the room which I did not use. Honesty is the most important thing in business. It is not good to make fool of tourists.
