We stayed in the Seashell Inn in early January. We had the Executive room, which was very spacious and modern, with a king size bed , though it was a bit clammy and damp. The wrap-around windows were nice. The kids had a regular room which was, regular - with two twin beds. We had paid for breakfast, which was okay, with a selection of English, Arabic, and Indian dishes in a buffet.

The hotel is located on a main road in the heart of the computer souk. It was on the route of the Dubai Marathon which we had come to view.

The main complaint about the hotel is the nightclub and loud music. We were on the third (European) floor and the nightclub was on the ground floor below us. The sound was very loud until 3 am both nights.

Service was fine and the staff was friendly. There was an airport shuttle - apparently this is a hotel used by many who are just stopping over between flights. We had rented a car - the parking is in the basement in a tiny parking garage. Don't try to get a suburban in there!

The hotel was fine for a short stay, but I think for a longer stay, one on the beach would be nicer.

This hotel is located in Bur Dubai , Location wise i would rate it as excellent , The nearest Metro is Al Fahidi Station , It is close to Meena Bazar , if you can just walk 500 m then take an Abra (1 AED) you can reach Gold & Spice Souk easily .
The rooms are spacious and well maintained , housekeepers are doing good job in maintaining the same. The staff is very helpful , we checked in early so no hassles in waiting , we requested for upper floor and got it easily .
In our package Breakfast was included and no doubt it was great , as expected before booking an india based theme hotel .
If they can do something about the noise which comes till late night then that could be rated as excellent.
Tips :1. Water is complimentary on first day only and for any further usage from Mini Bar , a 500 ml bottle will cost you 5 AED so my suggestion is , just left of the main hotel gate is a grocery store buy 2 lt of mineral water in 1.2 AED .
2.Taxis will charge you fortune so take a metro pass in advance and travel by it as much as possible.(All Major attractions are covered)

All in all it was a good 7 night stay in the hotel with no issues what so ever and staff took good care.
I would certainly recommend this hotel .

We booked into this hotel at Bur Dubai owing to booking made by MakeMyTrip There were so many bad incidents in our stay of 5 days that we even contemplated to leave the hotel & lose the money which we have paid for. Let me list down some of the unique incidents:

1. We were 2 families. One room with 2 Adults & 1 child & the other with 2 Adults & 2 kids. While our travel agent made a complete fool by not booking an extra bed in the room shared by 4 people, the hotel went a step ahead in ensure that we suffer. When we asked for an extra mattress we were informed that we need to shell 100 AED per day. We readily agreed. In 15 mins the Manager came & over ruled the discussion we had with the Front office executive & changed the rate to 200 AED per day. We still agreed to which he informed its subject to availability. You Will be surprised to know that the hotel could could not locate a single mattress in its premises which could have been provided to us. Therefore, they promised to get us a mattress from their other hotel. Unfortunately, in 5 nights they could not arrange for it. I mean have you ever heard of anything bizarre than this ?

2. Drinking water of 2 bottles ( 500 ml each) is provided only in the first night. After that a customer can either buy or refill those bottles from the water filter in the basement. While across the globe when I traveled I have never heard anything gross like this. Even in USA or Singapore where you can drink from the tap, the do provide 2 bottles per day

3. The breakfast spread was Indian & thus if you are not from the subcontinent you will have to be prepared for it. The only change might be that Hash brown might change to chicken nuggets or Salami, or the Cheese omelette will change to Mushroom omlette. Just 2 items change every day. I couldn't spot much difference other than this, across 4 times I had breakfast

4. The Wifi is not provided in the room. While, you can buy it for only 30 AED per day. We did not opt for it as we were touring from morning 9 to evening night. They do provide you free Wifi in the lobby 24 hours. The speed is definitely good. Which surprised me given my experience

There were however certain things which can work to your advantage. There are 2 metro stations Al Ghubaiba & Al Fahidi about 700-800 mtrs on either side. There are budgeted eating joints very close to the hotel & they are very good. There is a pub & 2 live bands inside the premises, if you want to venture.

We were seriously a bit put off given the treatment & tone used to deny us a mattresses even when we agreed to pay. I hope the owner reads it & take evasive actions to welcome guests better.

The amount charged was very nominal for the kind of room they provide. The room was big, clean. I stayed there for 5 days and will be back there soon. It's in proximity to all restaurants, indian food is widely available. Meena bazar is close. If you like walking, you can take a stroll to Dubai creek side from the hotel, just 15 mins walk. Centrally located, would definitely recommend if you're traveling on a budget and want to stand in a good h

Had a great experience with Hotel. Its a great value for money. Good location in Bur Dubai, near to Bus and Metro station and taxis are available in plenty. Staff is very helpful and courteous. They accommodated our early checking request and were very helpful whenever we requested for any help. They also provided Jain meals during breakfast which was very nice of them. Rooms are big enough for a family of 3. Food Taste was also very good and there are enough restaurants available nearby. Just ensure you get rooms on higher floor as hotel has bar on ground floor which may disturb you in the night. Overall had we had great time there and would recommend to others.

Answer: An old dirty hotel infested with roaches and other insects!

I was booked at the Panorama Grand Hotel for a business trip. The area of Bur Dubai isn't one I would have chosen however the choice was not mine to make.

The night clerk who was on duty when I arrived very nice, friendly, and helpful. He allocated a room on the seventh floor and I took the lift up. I entered my room to find myself in complete horror.

The walls, doors, and bed side tables were filthy. Don't even ask about the condition of the bathroom.

After the first night I thought; oh no this isn't going to work. During the night I noted a few black insects of two types. But it was the second night that I can't erase from my mind. I woke up to find the walls, doors, bathtub, and door jams crawling with roaches. At this point I knew I was not going to stay in this room any longer.

Walked down to speak with the all night receptionist who moved me to a new room immediately. For this I was thankful but the room smelled of insect spray. I knew the roaches were there I just couldn't see them.

Two more nights and I had to move to another hotel all together.

The only positive point to mention is some of the staff were so very kind. I feel the only solution for the hotel itself is to be leveled.

1. Getting a visa for Dubai is easy, go for a travel agent, for a 30-day tourist (visit) visa, they will charge approx 6000 to 6500, it is worth it. You don't need to submit passport, only a scanned copy, o photo and your itinerary (tickets and hotel reservations) will be fine. 2. You don't need any bank balance, just tickets and hotel reservation. 3. About address problem in the passport, it can't comment. 4. No need for bank balance checking at immigration.
