Novotel Dubai Al Barsha offers an experience that varies among guests. Its prime location is lauded for easy access to the metro and beach, though construction noise can be bothersome. The hotel's atmosphere receives mixed reviews, with some areas feeling modern and others perceived as needing refreshment. While many guests commend the clean rooms and helpful housekeeping, others are less impressed by the service and outdated room conditions. The amenities are generally appreciated, although the breakfast diversity and room service have room for improvement. Overall, opinions on value and quality vary.

We stayed here upon arrival in Dubai and again after a visit to Abu Dhabi before departing UAE. Our first room was quite nice on the top floor - 25. Our room on floor 7 for second stay was adequate but not nearly as nice.
The service by everyone was excellent but the person who stood out most for me was Hardik Sadnani, the concierge. He booked a couple of activities and gave us great advice that saved us both time and money allowing us to make the most of our time in Dubai.
One day before our departure he saved the day for me. When we arrived back at our room after the sunset Hop On Hop Off tour I discovered that a small case holding the hearing aids I’d removed to use the headphones had fallen out of my purse. I couldn’t locate a phone number for the company that night and hardly slept. I sent an email to HO/HO company that night - the only option I could find for reaching them. I sent a text to Hardik the next morning asking for his help. Within an hour my case with everything in it was delivered to the hotel! That evening (less than 10 hours before we had to leave for the airport) I got a response from HO/HO asking for additional information. Hardik’s effort saved me thousands of US dollars it would’ve taken to replace the hearing aids… not to mention the remaining week of vacation without them. He definitely went above and beyond. The local HO/HO team was also key in quickly responding to his request for help on my behalf. I’m most grateful to Hardik and them.

I stayed in a service apartment at Novotel Dubai Al Barsha, and it exceeded my expectations! The apartment was spacious, clean, and tidy, with a fully equipped kitchen, perfect for preparing your own meals.

The location is superb—right next to the Insurance Market Metro Station, making it easy to travel to Burj Khalifa and Expo 2020 via metro.

The hotel boasts excellent facilities, including a great swimming pool and a fully equipped gym, perfect for relaxation and fitness.

The staff were incredibly helpful during check-in, and the daily room cleaning was thorough and punctual. A special thanks to Noman and Laxmi for their exceptional service!

Dining options like Swiss Butter and Cafe Java were fantastic, offering delicious food and a wonderful ambiance.

Highly recommended for anyone visiting Dubai—an excellent location, amazing staff, and outstanding amenities!

My stay at the Novotel al Barsha has been a very pleasant one so far, all the staff are nice and accommodating, especially Mr. Alaadin at the reception is very polite and is available to answer any questions.
About the rooms:
This hotel has non-smoking and smoking rooms, which are separated from each other on floors so that the smell doesn't bother you.
The rooms are also cleaned every day and the towels are replaced if necessary, which is very good in my opinion.
The hotel also has a fully equipped gym, spa and sauna, as well as the hotel's own pool, which are also available and in perfect condition.
My personal highlight in this hotel is the restaurant The flying Elephant, which is characterized by its very tasty food, good drinks and very good service.
A good hotel for a business trip.👍

This is the worst hotel I've ever been to. It's even worse than the average 3-star hotel I had to live in. If I had the opportunity, I would give a rating of minus 1. It's really terrible, starting with incompetent, unfriendly and uncustomer-oriented staff, disrespectful attitude towards their guests and ending with dirty and smelly rooms.
And so, in order: the registration lasted 30 minutes, despite the fact that I registered in advance electronically. When checking in, the staff always confused everything. Despite the fact that we arrived by 2 p.m., the room was not ready and we had to wait another 40 minutes. The room is terrible, despite the fact that it is a junior suite, the carpet is all dirty, the walls are stained, the windows are dirty, the furniture is shabby. The room has a persistent smell of dampness, mustiness and mold. The sound insulation is disgusting. All the sounds from the next room can be heard clearly.
After check-in, we asked to bring bedding for the children, we had to wait more than two hours, we called 4 times, but it didn't help. As a result, the disgruntled guy brought only a sheet and two pillowcases. We asked to bring a duvet cover, so he began to grumble that he had to walk several times. It is impossible to reach the reception. They never answer there. We called the room service directly, but it didn't make much use.
Transfer to the beach and to Dubai Mall is a separate story. It's really a mockery. fit on the bus going to the beach is a whole quest. there's a battle going on for a seat on the bus. Despite the fact that a daily transfer to Dubai Mall is declared, it has not arrived in two days. They don't know anything at the reception or give incorrect information. Water and other accessories were not brought to the room, you have to constantly beg for everything. To take towels to the beach, you will be required a deposit of 200 dirhams. I've never seen anything like this before.
The food in the hotel is so-so, everything spicy, a lot of spices, we didn't like it. There is practically no European food.
The only positive point is the pool, in general not bad. That's all!!! We didn't find a single plus here anymore. I don't understand where the positive reviews about this hotel come from.

We’re from the UK, and staying here is like staying in a roadside hotel next to the M6!

I’m sorry to say this, but this hotel is shocking! I wrote this from the hotel bedroom, it was 4am in the morning, we have been here for 3 nights already. The reason I am awake at 4am is due to the noise from the main road (ie the M6) is deafening. We are in a suite, situated on the 30th floor, which you would think should be far enough away from the road (an 8 lane heavily trafficked motorway) to reduce the sound of the traffic (which is relentless and 24h) but definitely not, tucks cars motorbikes do not have the same EU regulations when it comes to noise and the noise seems to reverberate around the room from what must be a perfect storm of a cove (the hotel design) and the cheapest facade they could purchase when they constructed the hotel.

The suite is very spacious, which is why we chose this hotel, two large bedrooms, one with two small double beds for the kids, a lounge, kitchen, laundry, en-suites and 3 other toilets.

Unfortunately the suite has seen better times. Ground in chewing gum, stains of different varieties and ground in dirt are what remains of those better times with the place looking overall dirty and tired. We are staying 1/2 board during Ramadan. Breakfast is nice enough, freshly cooked eggs and omlettes, toast, coffee and juice are our go-to’s. For Dinner, when we booked we saw a there was a theme for dinner each night, Italian, Mexican. Chinese, Morrocan…. Lovely we thought. NOT DURING RAMADAN! “Moroccan EVERY night” we were told with a smile after the second night of chicken tajine… fair enough when asked, they told us that the chef would cook anything we want from the allacarte menu, but from the experience of two nights watching the flies (which the kids started naming) fight over the stagnant chicken tajine, lack of being offered a drink of any sort at the table, and the atmosphere of a wake, we have have had to bite the bullet and pay to eat out at the fine selection of other hotels and restaurants offering everything but fly infested stagnant Moroccan food.

I’m not sure how this hotel is displaying a 4 star rating in the most luxurious cities in the world, from the tired bathrooms, mouldy shower heads, stained carpets, TV’s that hardly work, with zero sport channels, and little English speaking channels, the deafening noise of the road, this is NOT a 4-star hotel! Maybe 20 years ago, when my Nan (god rest her soul) thought luxury was toilet roll not made from tracing paper, but not today… as I’m writing this, there’s a new sound of an alarm, which must be a truck which has been left in reverse for the sake of it just to make sure I don’t get back to sleep or enjoy my day tomorrow!! Don’t make the same mistake we did, stay somewhere else!

Let me first state that my 3 star review is not a review of the staff of this hotel, they are great! From Sudan who thoroughly cleaned our room everything to the staff looking after the breakfast buffet, from the bellboys to the reception staff.

Novotel Al Barsha is absolutely perfectly located a few hundred meters from the Mashreq metro station, only 1 stop away from the Mall of the Emirates. The front of the hotel faces Sheikh Zayd Road and unfortunately the windows of the rooms located here don’t block all the noise. The pool (rather small) is in the front too, making it not the relaxing place you may think. Plus; only shadow here….
The rooms in the back are far better noise wise though missing a view of the ocean.

It seems like it has been a while since this hotel had a good renovation planned. Our one bedroom suite had a smell, old furniture, a not heating hot water tap in the kitchen, several cracks in the bathroom and so on. It was lacking basic kitchen appliances thus preparing some meals in the room (which we were planning on) was basically not possible.

Room service after 11PM takes forever, as does housekeeping. The sofabed in the living room is not designed to host an adult. Luckily enough we could get a rolllaway bed instead.

I've seen it mentioned before; we had a fully paid for reservation and were charged (as it felt again) the full amount at checkin. When contacting the cc company I found out that indeed the amount had not been credited yet. The frontoffice staff told me many people complained about this. Accor; have your app fixed in order to show the correct information!

Spent 6 nights here and was not impressed. My room was quite big, which was a plus, but it was also not clean. The carpet was disgusting, the chairs as well and there was a big dust layer on the TV, which was still there upon checkout.

It's a big hotel and it was full, but despite the high number of guests it was quiet at night (although my room had a connecting door to the next, I could only hear minor noises from my neighbour.

What is really annoying is that whenever I asked anyone for something, it never happened. Only after several calls or until I went downstairs to the reception to get it myself.

Breakfast really stressed me out. every morning it is a war at the buffet. First you have to fight for a table (some people take it even after you placed something on them), then you hardly have any space to move around and plates, bowls, etc. are almost always missing. When they prepare the table for you, they don't set them up with cutlery, so when you come back with your hard fought for food you have to get up again and go asking for fork and knife. It was so bad that I skipped breakfast on the last two days. My days started a lot calmer.

They use an outside service for the laundry, which you have to pay separately upon receiving your items. I am sure they did not wash my whole laundry. They simply folded it and gave it back to me and charged me 100 USD.

I only really enjoyed the gym here, which is nicely sized and equipped. However, it isn't enough to make me come back here.

It was a good comfortable stay.

Pros:
Room plan is cleverly design to use maximum space for a comfortable stay and storage. Bathroom was pretty good and clean. It had a shower as well as a lovely bath tub.
The wardrobe, tons of closet space with drawers, safety box etc - was great for business travellers like us. We had to request items like shower cap, dental kit, ironing board, etc which were promptly delivered. The tea kettle & set up was really good.
We requested for a view and we got one on the 10th floor - was excellent.
House keeping staff (name: Beema) was so sweet and did a great job cleaning the room.
All in all the room was good !

2 Cons:
The breakfast buffet was just OK.
The Indian items in the counters were terrible & inedible.
The omelette station always had a long queue all the time and when we did get to it, the staff seemed quite unhappy & irritated with our request for 'egg white' omelette - this was irrespective of who was at the station - they ALL seemed unhappy at the request for 'egg white' omelette - which seemed really odd.
Tables were not served in a timely manner with silver ware, etc.
Rest of the spread was just OK. So the 'free breakfast' is not really worth it.

Staff at the front desk seemed patronizing - especially the female staff. Even though we were ready to pay whatever additional fee was due for a couple hours of late check out - the woman seemed condescending and patronizing - as if after 5 days of stay, we were trying to 'free load'. The man (Khaled) also told us 'the customer before you also wanted a late checkout' - I am pretty sure that is now how hotel staff especially those at front desk should behave with a customer. This put a damper on our stay and we were almost glad to get out of there.

All in all and OK stay. If the front desk staff was polite and professional - that would have been nice. Will probably look for other places to stay next time - as we don't want to pay to be misbehaved with by the very staff that needs to ensure we are happy with our stay.

As always, I reserve the Novotel Al Barsha Hotel during my stays in Dubai.

The price/quality balance for the rooms is good. So are the buffet lunches offered in the First Floor restaurant.

The hotel location near to Mashreq metro station is a plus, so you can get directly to and from the airport at a resonable price in about 40 minutes.

The rooms' quality and cleanliness are very good.

Café Java became a sanctuary for myself and many other guests during the Covid times of 2020 when I was at this hotel for 3 months.

However the top scoring points for this hotel go to the staff...on reception, in the restaurant, Café Java, and in housekeeping. They are polite, courteous, smiling and always make me want to return...which I will do in 4 weeks!

Great hotel! I look forward to being there again soo !

Went as a family: 2 adults and 2 children. We took a 73m2 executive suite with a very large double bed and a sofa bed for the children. The sofa is not comfortable at all, 4 cm mattress! Do not accept room 900 because it is very humid and everything is broken: the hs expression machine, the bathroom ceiling which does not hold, the completely broken sofa. So we were changed after only 2 days. We will not return there because: the swimming pool is quite small and almost always in the shade, you will only tan a little. We took the all-you-can-eat breakfast option and the all-you-can-eat evening meal but very little variety, always the same thing, certainly the croissants are well made in the French style but too little choice, only sandwich bread and some other pastries, yes there are sausages and eggs which are good, the coffee and chocolate machines are very average. The evening meal is almost exclusively Indian, no fries or pasta for the children and almost only dishes with sauce. The room we were changed to is large with a separate living room and a dining table, a bedroom, 2 TVs but only one bathroom with shower and bathtub and only 1 toilet inside, not practical at all for such a large room . Yes the staff is nice but that’s everywhere in Dubai. Leaving the hotel you have the metro station a few minutes' walk away, shops and the Mall of the Emirates is either 6 minutes by car or 20 minutes on foot. There are much better hotels elsewhere and this one is not worthy of a 4 star, in fact the Novotel Suite not far away is much better. One more thing: there is no kitchen in the executive suite, only in the junior suite, which is around 43m2. 2.5/5 for this hotel, I will not return, too expensive for what it is. On the other hand, special mention for the parking lot which is large and especially for the caretaker Isaiah, always smiling and pleasant!!!!
