It was a family trip to dubai where i stayed here. Their service was nice so was the food as well as the bathroom facility. The staffs were also kind and helpful. These were the good points. Now what i didnt like about the place was it had a really weak internet service. Im an online person so i really need internet for my work which they couldnt provide. So if youre a person who needs wifi whether it is for work or entertainment purpose then this is not the right place for you. but overall the hotel is a nice place to stay. Only if they have had a stable good internet it would be a five star from me.

We decided to have stopover at Dubai on our trip back. We found and book the hotel via internet website. Hotel looked nice, good location close to the airport and good price. Once we made a reservation, they blocked the money at our account. At the time of arrival they wanted immediately pay but told us that we need to keep our passport at their deposit!!! We said that we never leave our passports somewhere and they responded that this is their "internal policy". We said why any deposit if the payment will be done, they explained that this is because we could take something from the minibar and could leave without payment. I started to be upset to be considered as a robber. We spent at reception desk about 20 minutes of discussing. They also were still counting the price of the room at Dirhams, not showing the price in EUR or USD, as it was ordered. Finally, we got cards for the rooms and went upstairs. Firstly, the room could not be opened, as card was not activated properly, then we entered the room and could see that bed and blankets were okay but rest of the room really needed proper cleaning. Towels were completely missing. Dirts on the ground, foils from some sweets, in the bathroom hair on the ground. Bath not clean. Sudennly, somebody was knocking on the door and brought towels. Very surprised that he needed to deliver 2 towels to double room. Later we found that hot water was "out of order". When we came to bed for short sleep 2 floors above our heads started the party - there is a night club performing loud music till 2AM!!!
In the morning we just dress, had shower and dissapear as fast as we could. At reception desk the staff was trying to restrain us before our leave (ordered taxi to the airport was of course not here). They wanted that somebody will check the rooms if we used minibar or not. As we did not, we simply said good bye and left. Big luck was, that we did not gave them our passport to deposit, otherwise we would be prisoners in the hotel. One last info - if you do not want to leave you passport at reception desk, you should give them 400 dirhams deposit (approx 100 EUR). One of the girls at reception desk was kind, secondly, the distance to the airport was very short but that was all what I can consider as positive. Without dramatical change of their approach and change of cleaness it is not worth it.

The room cleaning and the room at large is poor and it doesnt give value for the high rate pay. the staff are racist mainly the reception guy who talks rudely to other nationalites . i dont recommend any stay in the room because even the warm water is yellowish in colour and itchy after shower. The room dint have towels and tea immunties as we had to call reception for that.

"Unfortunately, my stay at Sun and Sands Downtown Hotel Dubai was extremely disappointing. The rooms were dirty and unorganized, but the biggest issue was the hotel’s club, which played loud jazz music until 4 AM. When I complained to the staff, they simply said, ‘It is what it is.’ Although I had prepaid for a 3-night stay, I decided to switch hotels because it was impossible to sleep or rest under these conditions. This level of service and disregard for guests' comfort is unacceptable. I would not recommend staying here."

1.Dirty,dirty, dirty. It was more like a dirty and old midway motel rather than 3 star hotel. We were bitten by some insects during our stay.

2.Noise pollution, don't even think about sleeping peacefully at night.

3.Bad and weird behavior staff.

4.Don't try to waste your money even for an hour in that hell!

5.Located in one of the worst areas of the city.

6.There is a club located in ground floor of the hotel, which makes a lot of noise pollution and is a stamping ground for low level people and youth, and on the 2nd floor there is a club which makes the noise worst and you can hear the sound of drunk people over midnight in corridors.

I will not recommend this nasty hotel to anyone. Many complaints as they didn't give water bottles despite we stayed for three days. No water heater tea bags. It was so hot the AC is not working properly. Dirty bathrooms. Only two pillows. No iron. It's an inappropriate place for family, kids, or woman as the guest keeps fighting in the lobby night club is so loud. Price is expensive too.

The worst hotel I've been. Breakfast at the supermarket was better than breakfast at the hotel. We didn't sleep at night until the morning of the hotel's disco night. The reception did not matter to the displeasure of the passengers. Every day everyone was protesting and fighting.

Yes exactly as you mentioned breakfast was much better than lunch. Noise of disco was bothering during our stay but I didn't care and I slept easily because I was so tired at the end of the day. You are right Location was great.
